My old mate Davies Wakefield was a plankholder on USS Quincy, a marine from the 1930s when you had to meet the Governments' requirements . . .

Can you tell me if you remember picking up air force men whose plane was shot down on D Day in the Channel? My father always talked & wanted to thankthe men on the Quincy for picking him up. Anything you would remember would be appreciated. Thank you for everything.
