  • any more copy cool's on youtube!!! how bout some real originals!! any one .. !!??

  • Wow that's fantastic! Ive got the Squier version, very versatile but could still use(and will get) better pickups. What kind of amp are you using here? I absolutely love that tone.

  • @60spastlife Thanks! Amp is a Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 30R, just a cheapish practise amp.

  • @AlexSlams Sounds a bit less cheapish than my Frontman 25R lol. Or maybe I just like the H&K's tone better. Probably both!

  • Is the body style like a strat or a mustang? I can't really tell

  • MOAR! WE want more videos of you playing guitar covers badly! PLEASE GIVE US MORE! Probs why you have 21 subscribers... because you're so good!

  • @maxmoefoe Butthurt much? :D

  • @AlexSlams :D you have 20 subscribers much?

  • @maxmoefoe I think you are mistaking me for someone who needs YouTube subscribers in order to fill some gaping void in their social life. We are here for different reasons Max. :) Thanks for stopping by.

  • @AlexSlams Gaping void in their social life? Are you actually refering to me? I hope so because that would be funny as fuck.

  • @AlexSlams Hahaha, so true, so many people have no real lives,so they come to Youtube to make up for it. Your comment has to be the funniest and most true comment I have seen in a while. Keep rockin' man!

  • that sounded really good!

  • I like it..great guitar

  • SWEET LITTLE GUITAR!

  • joo

  • i have one of these but its HH, black, and black pickguard. best guitar in my arsenal.

  • love it dude! check out mine :D

  • hey what guitar u using? how is it?

  • @psychorockz123 really? u asking this? look in the title.

  • This guitar just would not go well with a gibson

  • @u820000 In what sense? All my main guitars are Gibsons and this slots in a treat.

  • @AlexSlams can you please tell me the settings on your amp.

  • @amacr549 Hi, this video was uploaded nearly 3 years ago, I have no idea what my settings were! Sorry!

  • Comment removed

  • awesome

  • Friggin' killer tone, man! What amp are you playing it through? Any pedals?

  • @pauloricardo1984 Thank you for your kind words! The amp is a Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 30R and no pedals used.

  • a fender with 22 frets + rw fingerboard? thanks god

  • You are TOTALLY FUCKIN AWESOME

  • that sounds amazing.

  • nice!

  • Great playing!

  • Wow! Where'd you get that?

  • Yeahhh I have this guitar and I'm very happy... Great Guitar...

  • Hey! nicee! check my version of this at my channel! :D thanks!

  • first part is correct note, second part sounds like chorus note, or the second lead guitar.

  • nice playing!!

    I that an expensive guitar?

  • @TheNicolasMusic Thanks, not expensive! I paid £120 for mine second hand.

  • AMAZING!

  • these guitars are awesome wish they didn't discontinue them. I just bought a 2006 model and I love it too much.

  • Love the tone, nice work. But I'm just wondering: isn't this a little flat? I mean, not quite in tune? I'm not interested in dissing the player -- wish I could play as well -- but making sure my ears are right.

  • did it came with those pickups?

i think of buying one from that era for around 200-250 bucks

  • Yes, these are the stock pickups!

  • Its so fucked up of Fender to make lefties go and search and pay out the ass for a guitar that is readily available to righties any day. Not to mention that some of their most famous guitars, like the Fender Jaguar, Mustang and Stratocaster, were made famous by Two lefties, KURT COBAIN AND JIMI HENRIX! Jimi is the reason everyone has a strat, and Kurt bought the Jaguar and Mustang out of obscurity. Fuck Fender. Lefties should petition for these gits that we cant have.

  • Amen!

  • i have a few things to say about that. first of all, jimi hendrix didn't make the strat famous. sure, he played one, but he also played an sg and a flying v as well as a ventures model mosrite. keep in mind the mustang was originally developed as a student's entry level electric guitar. and fender is not the only company that doesn't cater to the needs of left handed guitarists. i don't know of any company that REALLY does. jimi had to turn his strat around, so maybe you should too.

  • sorry i hit the wrong button i totally agree with everything you said

  • Hendrix did play a rightie anyway hahaha

    stung it backwards

  • You are absolutely right, but if Jimi had a lefty, I don't he would have done what he did. You'll notice watching his vids that he played a right handed Strat Strung right handed. He had the pure talent to play the guitar basically upside down. Jimi is immortal.

  • no; he's dead.

  • @cdickenson64 he strung a right handed left handed. it wasnt upside down to him.

  • @VikingChildren2 Yup you are right I am wrong... But it doesn't take away from the fact that he was a phenomenal artist... I said Jimi was immortal and some smart guy said He's dead" DUH! I meant that his legend will live forever.

  • @JonnyCapricorn Well, I love Fender, but I totally agree, they should have a lefty version for each guitar model they have!

  • @JonnyCapricorn i say fuck lefties ! they should be right handed anyway !

  • @JonnyCapricorn It's okay, lefties have better access to the creativity of the Right Brain, so you win in the long run :)

  • @JonnyCapricorn I see you wrote this a year ago and I highly agree. I'm not a lefty, but I can truly feel your pain. If I were to not be able to buy a guitar for that reason, I'd be pissed as hell. You lefties should petition, I'm serious.

  • @JonnyCapricorn You can have them too. You mentioned Jimi Hendrix, so why not be like him and flip it and put the strings on like you would on a normal left handed guitar? I think that looks cooler.

  • Nice I have a Cyclone too. Very under - rated guitar. Will go up in value like the Jagstang. Switching makes sense!

  • really nice 5 stars

  • hey men , that was very cool , i´m gonna upload my rendition of this great solo soon , in the meantime maybe you can check some of my videos , see you!

  • Great tones and playing man!

  • Coming from you Matt, that's one hell of a compliment! Thanks dude!

I'm a big fan (and subscriber) of your videos!

  • £120, £1200, I wouldn't be able to tell. You're getting a great sound out of that guitar!

  • decent solo dude but i think the tab you got is a bit off...or maybe it's just improv... in some places..but over all pretty good

  • Hi, Thanks for your comment!

Yeah, I did the video more as a demonstration of the guitar rather than my skills so I know the solo is out in places.

I might re-record it if i ever get the chance! :)

  • It's rock n' roll, not classical so who gives a crap?

  • It's rock n' roll, not classical so who gives a crap? That's the exact color and set up I want when I get a cyclone if I can find one when I come into some money.

  • What amp are you using?

  • Amp is a Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 30r practise amp. It's solid state but doesn't sound too bad!

  • You have a Killswitch on your guitar or it's the thing to select different micros?

  • That's just the pickup selector switch.

I have, however, wired the cyclone so there are two master volumes and no tone - this means the switch CAN now be used as a killswitch.

  • that's the exact guitar that I have, except my primary color is black. Nice solo by the way.

  • Thats amazing!!!!

    you've got skills

  • this sound execellent man

    check my version :)

  • Hey, man!

Very cool sound! I am a lot into Fender stuff.

How would you describe the Atomic Humbucker sound? Is is more vintage-like or more power-like?

I ask for I have installed a DiMarzio Air Zone in the bridge of my Mex Strat with Tex Mex in the other positions. But the whole guitar sounds awful! Too bassy and without the tone character. So, I'm thinking about other pickups.

Cheers and keep up the good playing.

PS: you've chosen one hell of a song to play.

  • It's pretty hot - I've swapped it out for a WB custom tuned 'bucker since this vid though and it sounds a lot nicer. I can heartily recommend looking at WB's. Just do a google search for WB pickups.

  • what about bare knuckles pickups?

  • I've not yet tried Bareknuckles but from all reports they are very good.

  • what do you think about the tex mex? are they good?

  • Aftermarket pickups are a lot better :)

  • i have that cyclone double sc model you speak of :D

  • We need video! :)

  • great work

  • nice job bro! I like it! please check out my version of the hotel california solo on my channel. Rock on! :)

  • Precision, talented 100% guitarist. Fantastic, you are born for guitar! Cheers, Actooon

  • Just to let you know alex that if you type the words Fender Cyclone into google you are in the top three listings HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    Adz

  • hey man, nice playing. I just bought a Cyclone the other day. A 2000-2001 model, black, with the same scratchplate as you.. love playing it! These guitars seem to be pretty rare so I think I stumbled upon a gem here.. got it cheap;)

  • how much

  • about $200

  • fuck gibson =P ^^^^ nice response ^-^

  • Nice guitar.. and good playing.. check my version of the solo :P Take care

  • nice mna cheack mine out =)

  • Awesome job! I have a cyclone that looks just like that.

  • I've got one '98, but mine is black. Great guitar!!

  • Couple of missed bends and a couple of bad notes, but I loved the improv towards the end, nice effort!

  • Reading the video description would do you well but thanks for stopping by!

  • Alex- I wasn't trying to insult you, I was just making honest observations, the sarcasm really wasn't necessary...

  • There was no sarcasm - just an honest observation of your comment. :)

  • Touche!

  • hey mate you did well.dont let anybody tell you otherwise.walsh and felder are a hard act to follow.legends.i have played guitar for years with bands and i think your good.

  • How do you get only the background music? Does anyone know?

  • nice guitar dude

  • I'm getting this tomorrow! Just wondering, does the neck feel more like a Strat or a Mustang?

  • The neck is a medium D profile and i'd say feelwise it's very in between.

  • Yeah, great classic guitar. Nice!

  • lol i just noticed slash has ripped off a part of that solo i one of his ^^ nothin against slash he is my favorite guitarist:P

  • dude i freakin love your cyclone! mine's a sunburst color and i've always wanted one like yours!

sweet, i wanna go play mine now. =)

  • is the cyclone II really much better than this?

  • In my opinion, no. the II suffers for not having that bridge humbucker.

A Cyclone HH might be better and you can always fit a coil split!

  • whats the diff between a mustang and a cyclone?

im not very good with guitar knowledge. Nice playing though! hotel california solo owns

  • a fair bit of difference really.

The body outline and scale length are the same and they share the same control plate - everything else is different. :)

  • ahh k, thnks:) how much did u buy that for?

  • I got mine for very cheap - £120

There is a red one on eBay for £200 at the moment.

  • oh cool... looking for one the same colour as urs though and i live in s'pore so its like 3x more

  • Good luck! I've not seen another one in this colour with this scratchplate. Keep an eye out for a '98 model.

  • haha kk thnks

  • btw once again u did an awesome job with this! slowly learning the solo

  • Don't learn from this vid - it's not very accurate! Just did it to show the tone of the cyclone.

  • yea im kinda learning from UG

  • Actually, the scale length is different. Mustang: 24 inches. Cylone: 24.75 inches.

They have different tremolo systems, different pickups as well. (This model of Cyclone has a humbucker in the bridge). The bodies are also slightly different.

  • Thanks for the correction on the scale length.

I know the Cyclone has a different trem system and pickups - I mentioned that!

    What Mustang do you have?

  • I have a 65 Mustang reissue in daphne blue. I go back and forth between the Cyclone and the Mustang being my favorite guitar. I like the scale length of the Mustang (small hands) but the pickups on the Cyclone. I'm trying to build a partsocaster with a 24-inch scale length and hotter pickups.

  • I had a '71 Mustang in CAR with the comp stripe. Loved it but kept the cyclone because of the humbucker.

Oh how I regret that one!

  • Good!

  • is the fender cyclone a good guitar to play nirvana.?

  • I would say so - pair it up with a Small Clone and a Boss DS-1! :)

  • i got a boss metal zone, i think it is like the same distortion like the ds 1 ^^ and i am going to buy a small clone and a mustang! thanks!

  • You may be disappointed with the Mustang if you are looking for a Nirvanas sound - Kurt very rarely used a Mustang to record and most of the big sounding songs are played with a Humbucker equipped guitar.

  • I'm in love with this kind of guitar omg :P

  • Why watch and comment on this video then?

  • To Troll, or to see how the guitar sounds.

  • i like very much this solo..... 5 star

  • pshht. i could play that so much better....on guitar hero...

just messing with you bro. I play too, but im not quite at that level lol.

Congrats on the amazing guitar and the God given ability to play it like you do. Great job man.

  • On the flipside, I am dogshit at Guitar Hero! lol

    Cheers for the comment!

  • No Offense, but Fender really just made this guitar outta spare parts didnt they?lol.Chopped up a strat pickguard, put in a jazzmaster switch,Jag-Stang pickups,Mustang controls,Mustang body, strat trem,Jazzmaster neck, its crazy.Like the Cyclone 2,its just a strat with jaguar switches, controls and neck.Thats like what CBS did in 70-something,Chopped up spare Mustang Bodies and made the aero, electric XII,and the bronco. But anyway, nice playing,do some more songs on the cyclone.

  • Thanks for the comment!

I don't agree that the Cyclone is made out of spare parts - the spare parts from what?

Some could say it is a modern take on the Bronco/Duo Sonic/Mustang and it works well - either way I aint complaining!

Your knowledge of the CBS Frankensteins is a little off too. For example the Bronco and Electric XII were original designs. From the Bronco came the Swinger and from the Electric XII came the Custom.

Not heard of the Aero though.

  • Re more songs on the Cyclone - Any Requests? :)

  • No,Im not putting down the Cyclone, theyre great guitars, but thr pickguards are just strat guards, cut like a jag-stang,with a jazzmaster switch,or made like a strat with a jaguar switch, depending on cyclone 1 or 2.and yeah,I know the bronco and XII were orriginal, but they made them just to use up leftover jaguar/mustang etc parts. And an aero (swinger) was just a cut up mustang/duo/bronco body, but that was just when fender went cheap, but I wish I was alive in the 60's,new $20 Mustangs....

  • I like the twang in the bridge pickup.

Replace it with a Tele Br. Pick.!

  • I'm a Humbucker fan! :)

If I wanted extra versatility I could coil tap the bridge p/up but I kinda like the set up as it is.

  • man the fender mustang is the most beutifuly ugly guitar i have seen, i want one so0o0o0o0 dam bad, but all my friends say its ugly, they r all gay gibson fans, "OMG THE LES PAUL IS AMAZINNNGG" they r so dumb :P sweet guitar man i loveit and u can play very wellll

  • your friends are dicks! The Mustang is one of coolest guitars ever

  • ur very good!!!I( love your tone!!CHEERS!!!!

  • A bit changed, but great!

  • Yeah, as I said, not note perfect :)

I do now have it note perfect but not had chance to re-record the vid but I will. Prob on my Les Paul though.

  • B-e-a-utiful

  • great job!

  • So, this is kind of like a Mustang?

  • It uses the Mustang body shape and control plate but that's it as far as comparisons go.

Scale length is 24 3/4" like a Gibson

    Headstock is a Jazzmaster copy.

    Trem is a Strat style.

Humbucker Bridge P/u and strat style single int he neck.

So no, it's not much like a Mustang at all :)

  • Wow, that looks awesome. And it looks smaller too, if I ever save up for a guitar I'll definitely buy a Fender Cyclone.

  • If it had a Telecaster element it would be even better!

  • The Tex Mex in the nick has a really nice tone, sorta Tele like.

When I got mine I actually intended on getting a tele.

  • Awesome, I just want a hybrid of a Telecaster, Stratocaster, Mustang, Jaguar and Jazzmaster, lol. But especially Telecaster and Mustang.

  • Came for the Cyclone, stayed for the mad skillz ;)

I have one just like that but in Copper Caramel, same guard and all which was odd as MF and Fender's site never listed tort guards with these...

    Guess we got lucky.

  • What a pitty, this Fender model isn't available nowadays...

  • Yeah, it really is....I was lucky enough to picked one up used.

Awesome tone and skill.....we really need to make Cyclones more widley known!

  • what amp?

  • Amp is my little Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 30.

  • nice job, im thinking about trading my epi gold top 56' reissue for a cyclone, do you think this is a good move?

  • It really depends on what you want to use the guitars for. The cyclone is a lot heavier (on the bridge p/up) than your P90 equipped Les Paul. The scale length is the same and they are of similar value so try both and decide which one suits you best.

  • Nice tone and nice bending. Well done!

  • nice!!

  • Nice Job!
