Since we're comparing war stories...just beat him on level 110 on Universe mode. Meracle totally saved my ass time and time again. Used all Fresh Sages/Elixirs reviving and was almost done for. God I love this game.

beat his ass just 2 days ago on 1st attempt. the only thing i didn't see coming was the lighting power. I figured he used light and i gave my 2 healers/support in my party (myuria and sarah) armor the ability to absorb light attacks. woops. still was epic though.

My crew was around 117-124

wahhh!!! this brings me back, my team was level 148 when i cleared him out, but it took me 4 attempts. I overthinked his strength too much, can kill entire team in an instant, but all you have to do is just stay away, have 2 healers, then a bunch of restoration unit, charge and use your combination attack that way he cannot defend and attack you, deal at least 400k damage, he will be dead oso.

it takes a while I know lol but I usually train in the Wandering Dungeon and try and get some gems to increase the percentage of experience I get in every battle:D my longest playtime on this game is now 255 hours:)

Even though I'm just about to ripe this guy a new one with my party. A good setup for this boss and his mom. (Yes Gabriel and Ethereal Queen are family.) Weapon HP Damage +30% Add Stun Atk x2 but HP 1/2 MP cost -25% Those are excellent Attack Factors. Armor Nulify HP Damage 25% Def + 20% HP+ 20% etc.

@Fishpks The gear you find in this dungeon alone should suffice if you abuse the Duplication skill. But if that still doesn't cut it. Darkblood Chainmail does the job as you won't be able to make better items till after you beat this guy and run through the 2nd secret dungeon.

Continued without the PS3 character substitution option I would have been game overed on several occasions. But anyway I would now like to know if Bacchus and Arumat have super weapons like Meracle's burning claws, Reimei's Evil Spirits bow and Edge's Lightning Blade (which I found in a flame chest in purgatorium). @Kaous10 You'll have to make em, Go into debt buying santa's stuff, or get lucky in the wandering dungeon. Wandering dungeon has extremely rare chest that contain some of the strongest weapons in game.

So yeah I was right about the key differences in the PS3 version. The Dragon Roar technique was housed by that flame chest I in the Warren. I did find the savage sparrows chest right gabriel. I was able to beat Gabriel with Meracle at 94 and my other characters in the 80's I didn't try to solo him because his AOE attacks for some reason did end up smacking me at the end of my blindside attempt I did fight him with a full party everybody was killed many times....

TO: KAOUS10---> DUDE!!! The water-ring AND the Savage Sparrows are right behind Gabriel Celeste..on the other side of the altar..you can access them without engaging Celeste. Also, if you think that the enemies in the Seven Star Dungeon are hard...wait until you work your way to the Ethereal Queen! Any battle can be your last if you are not Leveled up or have addequate synthed weapons. but yeah...get the ring and savage sparrows from the celeste room

I need help, I am trying to find the Skill Manual Dragon Roar, the guide says it is in the Miga Insect Ward but when I get to spot where I think it is telling me where it is supposed to be I look at the chest and it says that "it is engulfed in flames and can't be opened" Is there supposed to be an Ice or Water ring in this damn game cuz if so I have not found a record of it, the damn Darkness ring wont work on it like the guide says it should so I just dont know.

@Kaous10 well in the 360 version its a darkness ring chest that dragon roar rests in, but there is a water ring in the room of gabriel celeste, behind his alter, you dont need to actually fight him to get it.

Yeah, after a lot of research I found that answer, which is kind of ridiculous because I was really hoping to be able use dragon roar on my descent to getting to B7, I have found that the enemies in that caver are staggeringly hard and it will be a really struggle just to get down there.... And I definately found out that I was right about the key difference idea by watching somebodies xbox 360 walkthrough as they found that the light enveloped chest was in the same spot of fire chest in ps3.

Drill spike, Comet Impact.

Chain 2:

X-Claw (x3) (VERY EFFECTIVE BECAUSE IT JUGGLES HIM AND GIVES YOU TImE TO RUN AND PREPARE!!)

Battle Skills:

You know, thanks to watching this video, I beat Gabriel with a similar strat (Edge, Reimi, Sarah and Arumat) I put EVERYONE on manual, and spread them out and put them in each corner, and everytime someone died (Arumat died the most... useless, lol) i'd cast resurection and get back up again, and whoever Gabriel had targeted, i'd blindside him, get in a few attacks, and when I had full rush gauge, set up by using berserk on characters that could use it (edge, arumat) and deal tonnes of damage :D

Also, I'm pretty sure Bacchus isn't invincible in his Blindside. I've gotten hit out of it by one of those tree enemies before.

Got hit when they did a back attack probably. Even if you blindside them, if you aren't fast enough, they will attack anything behind them. Happens to Meracle even.

I believe Bacchus is invincible with his blindside though. Second he gets into the air he becomes invincible, however, he can be hit before he jumps I think. Never paid attention to him. Don't use him often.

hold down b until you burst with the charged aura and when a flashing circle comes around your character, point you left analog stick left or right and release b. But this all must happen within about 4 seconds or else you will be stunned by charging your aura too much. if you dont understand what im saying go look at the battle simulator in the menu and it teaches you.

Ok, this is complicated. Lets see. Ok when you do a regular blind side the circle around your character is yellow. When the enemy is really close your circle flashes red and yellow, that means you have an uncounterable blindside.(i think, it explains all of this stuff you are asking about in the battle simulator)

actually you can do a double blindside : ) . just input the same button when you're doing a regular blind side ( hold b + analog stick ). it 'll just work if the enemy will counter attack though, just check its head : an exclamation point means the enemy will counter while question mark means it'll do nothing

nope he wasn't the main boss, ur thinking of indalecio, gabriel celeste has always been a bonus boss, and has been in the seraphic gate(Valkyrie Profile Series) or the Cave of Trials(Star Ocean series) same goes for ethereal queen too. If you are going to talk about Radiata Stories then you will fight them in the Shrine of Fay

yeah, you get more crit chance with blindside, but its not 100% and the crit chance goes off after the first combo/special attack you use, and since you have to do criticals to keep Celeste in the floor then Focus is neccesary to increase your chances.

Make sure to have 4-8+ hours of free time before any tries at the next dungeon. Infinite floors, though you only need to do 20. No saves, if you leave all bosses and objectives reset.

It'll likely take you several trips also since you'll occasionally leave to save items or keep drops, etc.
