Faye was a beautiful woman. It is a shame however, that she used her talents as an actress to destroy someone else's reputation. Especially, a fellow actress. Brilliantly put.! As a teenager in the 70s, Faye was IT for me. Big actresses/movie stars of the period (Fonda, Streisand, Keaton) didn't do it for me in the same way that Faye did. With Bonnie & Clyde, Chinatown, Network, 3 Days/Condor, & Thomas Crown Affair, it seemed that she was destined to reach immortality in the same way greats like Hepburn, Davis and Crawford did. FD is a vastly under-rated and often over-looked actress - it was great to see her interviewed recently on Jonathan Ross Show (BBCTV). It was no accident that she was regularly the female co-star alongside the great male leads of the 60's and 70's - she had the talent as well as the beauty!

I think I read somewhere, a while back, that Faye (along with some of the other actors under Sidney Lumet's direction) decided that the best way to make Paddy Chayefsky's script work was to make it as funny as possible, otherwise it would just be too heavy. Diana was a very difficult part to play without turning into complete caricature, but Faye did it brilliantly - that must be why she got the Oscar.
And for those of us who watch ALL her films I can tell you that Faye probably had her first real plastic surgery job after she made the movie "Bevery Hills Madam", one of my favorite Faye films. That was the last movie she made before she had her first trip to the surgeon, and then she made "Cold Sassy Trees". I was amazed at the diference, and I have to admit, she looked beautiful afterwards too. It's quite simple...Faye's a goddess!

She had a small part in Three Days of the Condor with Robert Redford, and yet, she walked away with the movie, as the scenes she is in are the scenes that you remember long afterwards. This has more to do with charisma than acting, but when you have both....it is unbeatable...and that's Faye!
Here's a question now: my favourite actress, Faye Dunaway, and my favourite director, Stanley Kubrick - was there ever any talk of them working together ? If so, on which movie ? Faye Dunaway is outstanding in "Chinatown". I love her chain-smoking scene in Gittes office. The moment when she stutters on the word "father" sends chills down my spine every time. A superbly judged piece of acting.
So when did she begin to dabble in plastic surgery ? Was it after 1995 ? Apparently, she had given up smoking and alcohol by then. "I have gradually stripped away the things that I felt were destructive to me." At a certain age you can become health conscious and think about your appearance.
Anyway, when I first saw Network so many years ago (30 or so, it must be) I actually missed most of the film because I spent all the time staring at Faye. Only when I saw the film for a second time did I take it in properly and realized the Diana character was hard to play (apparently based on a real person whom the writer Chayefsky clearly disliked). Faye won a lot of awards for the performance.
Completely true! Once you're addicted to watching her scenes in films like Network, Chinatown, Barfly, Arizona Dream, Bonnie and Clyde, Thomas Crown Affair, and many other films of hers, you won't feel like going out anymore. It felt like you've already seen the best.
Oops. Most people have a bit of plastic surgery, but really great plastic surgery is where you can't tell it's been done. Can Jane Fonda look younger and protect her fragil skin just by using L'Oreal Cream ? I think not.

I spoke with her tonight at my work (cant say were I work due to confidentiality), she was really cool to talk to. Apparently she is going to direct her first feature length film shortly! We talked about mickey Rourke's new film "the wrestler" which is getting an Oscar Buzz!

Anyone remember a movie she was in called "The Happening"? It also starred Anthony Quinn. I think it came out about a year before Bonnie & Clyde. The title song of that movie was done by the Supremes.

I hate it when pretty celebrities get nose jobs. They all look worse after like Ashley Tisdale, Jennifer Gray, Faye Dunaway, Michael Jackson his whole face but his nose too, Michelle Pfieffer, Janet Jackson, Paris Hilton, Ashlee Simpson, Cher, Claire Danes and a lot more. Its just annoying. They are beautiful how they are and there is no reason to change it. Plastic Surgery is like a poison in my opinion.

Could we have a few stills from Network, her Oscar-winning performance ? I think I read somewhere, a while back, that Faye (along with some of the other actors under Sidney Lumet's direction) decided that the best way to make Paddy Chayefsky's script work was to make it as funny as possible, otherwise it would just be too heavy. Diana was a very difficult part to play without turning into complete caricature, but Faye did it brilliantly - that must be why she got the Oscar.

And for those of us who watch ALL her films I can tell you that Faye probably had her first real plastic surgery job after she made the movie "Bevery Hills Madam", one of my favorite Faye films. That was the last movie she made before she had her first trip to the surgeon, and then she made "Cold Sassy Trees". I was amazed at the diference, and I have to admit, she looked beautiful afterwards too. It's quite simple...Faye's a goddess!

As a die-hard Faye fan, I too marvel at some of her great performances. She had a small part in Three Days of the Condor with Robert Redford, and yet, she walked away with the movie, as the scenes she is in are the scenes that you remember long afterwards. This has more to do with charisma than acting, but when you have both....it is unbeatable...and that's Faye!

Here's a question now: my favourite actress, Faye Dunaway, and my favourite director, Stanley Kubrick - was there ever any talk of them working together ? If so, on which movie ? (or project, as Kubrick worked on a lot of projects which never actually got made as films - for instance, his Napoleon project, which he could not get the funding for, so he made Barry Lyndon instead.)

Faye Dunaway is outstanding in "Chinatown". I love her chain-smoking scene in Gittes office. The moment when she stutters on the word "father" sends chills down my spine every time. A superbly judged piece of acting.

So when did she begin to dabble in plastic surgery ? Was it after 1995 ? Apparently, she had given up smoking and alcohol by then. "I have gradually stripped away the things that I felt were destructive to me." At a certain age you can become health conscious and think about your appearance.

Anyway, when I first saw Network so many years ago (30 or so, it must be) I actually missed most of the film because I spent all the time staring at Faye. Only when I saw the film for a second time did I take it in properly and realized the Diana character was hard to play (apparently based on a real person whom the writer Chayefsky clearly disliked). Faye won a lot of awards for the performance.

Completely true! Once you're addicted to watching her scenes in films like Network, Chinatown, Barfly, Arizona Dream, Bonnie and Clyde, Thomas Crown Affair, and many other films of hers, you won't feel like going out anymore. It felt like you've already seen the best.

Oops. Most people have a bit of plastic surgery, but really great plastic surgery is where you can't tell it's been done. Can Jane Fonda look younger and protect her fragil skin just by using L'Oreal Cream ? I think not.
