I agree with what you say, except for punishing employers. Why? Do to the economic crisis, unemployment is high in the southern states. The menial jobs were taken by illegals b/c the white Americans didn't want them (or wanted to get payed too much for that particular service). Today HS/college students don't want to b pizza delivery drivers and receive minimum wage (or little higher) rather they want 14 /hr. Govt if they really wanted to would close the border for sure and tighten up security
