If your kids a nightmare then DON'T FLY WITH THEM!!! LEAVE THEM AT HOME!!! If leaving them isn't an option, then DON'T GO AT ALL. Hey, your kid, your problem. Don't make it ours. It's called "courtesy." coolmomdotcom??? pffff please...divorced and single no doubt. Sooo cool.
You dumb blonde, kids should be knocked out for an flight. I HATE kids who cry on a plane, parents MUST keep their kids quite the whole flight. My kids know to keep quite on a plane, they are VERY respectful and they are always quiet when they play.... they don't yell and run around the house. You TEACH your kid how to act!!!!
Wow. Some of these comments are incredibly ignorant. You honestly expect a baby/child to barely make a sound during a flight, heaven forbid; cry! I'm sure if all of our lives were documented on film there would be parts where we are far less than the standards you have placed. Have some compassion! Here are some facts: kids cry, they scream occasionally too. THEY also have a RIGHT to be on a plane (you know, being human and all) so suck it up and get over it.
I can partially understand why babies cry on airplane, because of the pressure on their ears. But try telling this to someone who has paid good money for first class cabin seats. They have a RIGHT to complain because they are paying good money for just a short trip. I have an idea, how about a sound proof day care room for screaming babies? This would benefit EVERYBODY on the plane, and the kids can keep their crying in an isolated sound proof glass day care room. A win, win situation everyone.
But, when we pay for our seats, we don't pay to fly beside a child acting out. That is your responsibility to deal with, and irrresponsible of you not deal with the child. I have flown multiple, long flights, and kept my children in line, not to disturb others.
I think the same way as kiramandl does... I'm really sorry for the parents and for the kids too... I have a friend who is a flight attendant and she told me that sometimes kids ears are stucked because of the pressure so I guess it's hurting them during the flight so no wonder they cry... Some assholes who fly around the globe and expect that all their flights will be perfect should know that we live in an non perfect world and try to be more patiente with your next!!! God bless everyone!
I mean, I am only 19 and I don't have any kids right now, and i am not planning on having any for a while, but I always feel so bad for the parents with the screaming child. I never get annoyed, and it bothers me when people complain about it! It's not the parent's fault!
they should make a separate section on the plane for families with babies. that way they won't bother the rest of the passengers. or better yet, create separate flights that are only for families with babies and don't let them go onboard the normal flights.
people might say its unfair, but how would you like to sit next to a screaming baby on a 12-hour flight or get vomit on and have to cope with the festering smell for the duration of the flight since you forgot to pack an extra shirt?
America is the most uptight nation regarding crying kids. People in this country forget they all used to sh*t in their pants, cry and have someone else wipe their a&&.What a bunch of immature tighta&&es to complain about a whiney kid or crying baby. I think the grumps should be tossed off the plane. Kids are everywhere, if you don't like it don't travel. Oh and by the way, for all you better than thou judgmental dipwads, too bad your mommas didn't hate kids and believe in abortion.
it's called nyquil... dope your kids up, put em in the overhead compartment and have a few cocktails. you might have to remedicate them 4 to 6 hours in if you're on a really long flight.
Perhaps idiots like you would think twice about their selfish arguments if they realized that LEAVING A BABY AT HOME ALONE is not always, or ever, a viable option.
What if their reasons for travel are not leisure, but necessity? They can't take the flight and FedEx the baby.
Let's be honest, how often does that happen? Granny can visit you at your house. And no child younger than 5 is going to get anything out of a vacation to some place a plane-flight away.
And if you can't afford a good baby sitter ... how can you afford to travel in the first place? ...
not everyone's grandparents are healthy or mentally stable enough to take a plane.
besides, people don't bring their young children on vacations for the children's enjoyment - no parent is going to trust a babysitter with a baby for more than a day, though they may be able to afford it.
argentum81.....you just proved her point for her. You just established how much of a baby, and selfish us adults are in comparison with kids. It's hard work to travel for everyone, but you feel your the one who should be coddled, and catered to even though we were all babies once, you are apparently still there.
It is difficult to sleep in a cramped coach section, but even more so with screaming children around. But of course, people like this lady think that the world revolves around them and their kids. She rants about the rudeness of one passenger, but doesn't think about the 20 or 30 passengers her child disturbed. If she ever got ejected from a flight or asked to leave a store/restaurant because her kid threw a fit, you can be sure she would post an angry rant about others being too judgmental.
Again, you have proved her point. "it is difficult to sleep in a cramped coach section".... sounds like the adults here think the world revolves around them. If you ever got asked to leave because you threw a fit, you adults would complain.....You're complaining right now
Babies don't have impulse control. They don't realize their crying disturbs other people. Their parents can't install mute buttons, either - if you've ever cared for a child you'd know it isn't that easy.
However, rude people such as yourself can always choose to shut their mouths.
I disagree with anyone who complains. . . yea maybe it isn't so pleasant but what if the kids grandparents live far away, what if someone is sick in the family. . . Today might not be a difficult day for you but there are surely people around you who are having family issues, work issues and general life issues why does everyone seem to think the world revolves around them. We should ALL show a lil more compassion for others and see ourselves in their shoes
You're absolutely right. Let's put ourselves in the child's shoes. "I obviously don't want to be on this plane, why couldn't I just stay home?!?" If Mom just waits to take her kid on a plane until they're ready, EVERYBODY -- Mom, the kid, and fellow passengers, are happy! Problem solved.
I love when adults talk like they were never a kid once. Problem will be solved and EVERYBODY will be happy when immature adults can learn to grow up. Kids are, and always have been, a natural part of society(including yourselves) and it's quite funny how these pampered adults FEEL they're being inconvenienced. That's the problem with whiners is there FEELINGS. Families travel, and if you're not traveling with the responsibility of taking care of someone, your lazy.
There are a lot of holes in what you're saying here, but I'm just going to respond to "Kids are, and always have been, a natural part of society(including yourselves)." I was not taken out in public until I was old enough to behave myself. The one time I misbehaved right before a vacation, I got left at home. I learned my lesson. And no, I'm not whining about it any more ;)
i find myself generally agreeing with her. in this case she is wrong. i cant stand kids on a plane, that is why i wait till my kids were older before i took them anywhere long distance. where did she take her, Disneyland? the kids looks much too young to really appreciate something like that anyway.
Forgive me for my lack of compassion, but disruptive children don't belong on planes. While I would never ever yell at a mom who's not managing her child well on a plane, you've got to understand that for every 1 person who yells at you, there are 50 more people who are tired and stressed and were actually looking forward to the flight for a nice NAP. Which your child is now interrupting. Get your kid under control or leave it at home with a babysitter.
When one goes out in public there are certain things that one has to expect to encounter, to include rude adults, smelly people, obnoxious individuals and yes occasionally a baby who needs a nap or is not mature to put up with the heat in a plane before take off or the vibes that a plane full of nervous, frightened people put out that a baby is very sensitive to. I don't think it's too much to ask of adults to have a bit of compassion for a mother and a baby out of their usual comfortable enviro
An example of why the world is the way it is. I hope to never see you on my flight. As a flight attendant, you would be removed in a heartbeat with that attitude.
So the adult male who should have self control gets mad at a 2 year old. You pick his side and not the mother defending her child. Perhaps she should sit there and not say a word. You know like most of the women from the middle east. Good to know you of all people have a handle on why the world is the way it is. Lets hear it for the bully!!! Way to go.
If he hates babies, he can stuff his ears on take off. I suspect he bigger problems if he's going to shout in public at a strangers' child. Nice story.
100 percento correcto, ma'am! this is coming from the perspective of being the guy who's always behind the screaming baby on planes, jets, trains, rockets, UFOs, surfboards.... they're ALWAYS behind ME! i SWEAR! ;)

Why would anyone want to leave their baby while they went on a vacation?
obviously people love their children and It wouldn't be a family vacation without them.
also, sometimes people use air planes to move somewhere permanently.
