The teacher has less to do with it than the scheduling. My 6th graders are given 15 minutes during homeroom for band rehearsals. Last year I was given 18 minutes with one class and 13 minutes with another during lunch and they sounded better than this year. I can guarantee this director sees his students more than 30 minutes a week.
