  • i love malta! i love this song! it should be in the final! saludos from Spain!

  • The song is nice but they kinda missed the continent xD

  • Won 3rd place in my Eurovision contest

  • i am surprised how (oriental) countries which participate in the eurovison song contest and DO have oriental themes not only get into the finals but in these recent years have made the top 4. this one was better than any of them.

  • this should not have only got into the final, but should have come first. :)

  • Its not fair that this song didnt make to the final.

  • should be in final!!!

    really great song

    greetings from slovenia

  • My no1 from 2007 i voted my as$ of and stil didn't go to the final

i love love LOVED the backing vocals with there golden fan's

and there pose at the end

  • @Eurofan2006 yes sometimes is unfair but no for all

  • Great!!!

  • This is scary....I cant get 'story' of this song....It is nice but the performance is awful....gong, fans, flags....it's too much

  • @schtef994 disagree. The performance is perfect for this song. Feel the vertigo ;-)

In my opinion the best song 2007 with Serbia's and Malta's best entry with Chiara's in 1998 and 2005.

  • @db01031988

    MY TOP 1 OF 2007!!!!

I love this song!!!Eurovision is so unfair!!!!:(

  • This should be in the final instead of that stupid song from F.Y.R. Macedonia of the one from Serbia

  • This is a very good song. Malta should have gone to the final instead of stupid Turkish song

  • 2007 was THE year!!!! Best Eurovision songs participate that year and Vertigo was just amazing, my favorite so far

  • one of my all time favourites :) it deserved final!

  • I love chinese cultur, and it looked good to the song!

  • love olivia...someone said it earlier she would of won, but her live singing is appalling....even worse on the night there, still malta's entry today is worse worse worse and worse lol bring back ms lewis :D

  • problem wasn't in song, her live singing is awful

  • Sounds... very Thai

  • My feelings are hopeless for Malta to win th Eurovision.

  • This song may be not the best of 2007, but please, she deserved to be in the final!!!

  • The point is they never decide between chinese or spanish style...it was just something (oriental?) exotic.

  • I LOVE THAT SONG

  • Good Song, Rubbish Performance!

  • go to my videos... the camera shots ruined the performance and made it look messy... ir's so much better without the camera shots

  • it sounds like gypsy doesn't it?...

BTW i looooove this song! in spite of the Kimono and the gong does anything to do

  • she did that part :to goooooooooo like a rotten angel

  • problem was that she's never had experience with the voice box/ear phones and she was having difficulty with them and she couldn't hear herself since the sound was so low in her earphones... thats why it sounded bad

  • Süper şarkı!Birinci olmasını beklerken, yarı finali dahi geçememesi ile şok olmuştum.12 tam puan!

  • Very very good song!

  • the camera shots make the performance look cheesy and busy... go to my videos and watch the rehearsal... it's must better and it shows the performance without the shots

  • should be in final!!

    stupid voters!!

  • very beautiful song.. it s a pity that a song like this is not popular anymore just becasue it didnt pass from the semi final of such a rubbish song contest

  • t'was a good song !

    12 points from turkey ;)

    nothing in the final :S

  • there was a lott of booing for this song i m so sad this was one of the best songs !!

  • a lot of booing? who booed it? I'll kill them!!! :D

  • sure god u will ;p

  • i would have booed. haha it's like il festa tas-san bastjan for god's sakes...

  • well at least they went for something different... what's the point of seeing the same old performances with half naked girls acting like sluts... when you can go for something unique and original.

  • The most amazing this about this song is that it came LAST on the semi !

Ok , it may not be the best one out there , but it's DEFINITELY not the worst ...

One of the many EuroVision oddities ... that's what makes it so interesting though ^_^

  • Mexican style music with chinese outfit can not work.

  • this doesnt souds mexican at all...

    No me jodas, colombiano.

  • nena no te estoy jodiendo y no odio españa

    no generalices por favor...

nunk dije ke odiara a españa...

  • loooool maltese* not maltesers hahha... maltesers are the chocolate

  • I think she is a maltese malte(a)ser LOL

  • listen to the song properly, there are elements of asian themes in it.... what comes to mind when you hear a gong? asian theme... so they went for it.

  • its actually oriental tune.... japanese/chinese... the gong showed it was chinese/japanese ;p....

  • @RIDICULA99 Why Mexican style?

  • She sould have passed to the final!!!=)

By the way - what's up with her site?

  • One of the best songs on ESC 2007!

  • Very nice song! Should have made the final.

  • This is a good choon.

    shame they never made it.

  • It was a real shame this song didn't make it to the final. "Shake it up Sekerim" was horrible. Every time it received points, me and my friends groaned. How it made Top 5 is a mystery to this day.

  • Perfect song!!! GOOOOOOD!!!

  • Such a great song....the performance - x(!

  • hah this song got a record of 32 000 votes in malta... how can u say that its not nice... usually the voting toll for the number one song doesnt exceed 16 000. and this song got the double of that... this song was oriental and original... not usual ballads/rock... beh we shouldnt have sent smt like this to smt crap like eurovision

  • What you have against Turkey??!! is qiet sometimes fuck on youuuuu! this song is scaryyyyyyyy !!! fu:ck malta!! i hate malta!! if you write so I such a way

  • what did i say about turkey u idiot?

  • deli was nice... shake it up sekerim was horrible... i mean.. it had nice music but the singer sucks as hell.. its not his type of music DEFINITLY.. he has a good voice but in the song his voice was awful

  • ok ok...

  • i would have thought this to have been an 'ideal' eurosong. her voice only half-hit some notes tho but didnt deserve the position it got

  • this was such a great song

  • best

  • dit lied was het beste! Goed geluk voor toekomstige Olivia!

  • this song is as far as you can get from what popular music is

  • what do you mean by that?

  • i mean that when you compare it to popular music today it is completely irrelevant to what is going on in the music industry

  • that's true...

I love it though... its different... its unique and meaningful...

most of today's music sounds all the same... most of the lyrics are about death, sex, drugs, boys, girls...

    its overrated

there's not much decent music out there...

I think this song is a great change

  • that's nice - i completely disagree though!

  • and whys that

    whats your explination

  • cos i love modern / popular music!

  • LOL

    not a very good explination...

but we all have different opinions :P

  • that's what i like about the contest! everybody gets something that must suit there taste. for example, this year i loved the french, ukrainian and greek entries. but - above all i loved ireland!

  • I loved a lot of the entries...

Iceland, Sweden, Ukraine, Latvia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Poland, Portugal, Macedonia, Malta, Denmark, Andorra, Armenia, Ireland, Estonia, Greece, Georgia, Slovenia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Belarus, Cyprus

I love to mix my style of music

  • The best choreography that Malta ever had ... a very good song as well ... I still don't know why we placed so badly :(

  • what an amazing an powerful song, including a great performance. one of my favorites of this contest.

the musicvideo is not very good ;)

  • She are SCARY! and i MEAN scary O.O but the song is good :)

  • dude your english is scary lol

  • loool tajba man kem hu tan nejk

  • Thanks Olivia for this awesome song.

  • this song is great too,but turkey ist the best (fuck of the rest)

  • No way turkey song was good but Olivia song was simply AMAZING

  • oh no dude you dont just fuck the rest! fuck turkey if we're at it then!

  • the turkish song was rubbish compared to this... it had a nice rhythm but the lyrics were stupid and his voice didnt match the beat

  • I really like this song. Should have qualified for sure

  • This is one of the best songs that Malta has sent to Eurovision. The lyrics are so powerful and strong. The music is dramatic and classical. The choreography is visually impressive to match the oriental elements of the song. Ithe performance itself is magical and enchanting! It would have won if it was in America or Australia because there are so many people have an asian culture and this performance represents part of it and people have an interest in the asian oriental theme. AMAZING SONG!

  • the song is good, but it isn´t the best

  • it is the best :D

  • Maybe in ur opinion it wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst either.

  • the best song in the contest! the song was so meaningful and dramatic! the performance was so visually oriental! if this performance was done in the US it would have recieved so many votes from those who are into the whole japanese oriental category... and the asian community would vote for something that's representing part of their culture!

  • it must be weird having half your heritage from a straightlaced culture like japan and the rest from... malta.

    VIVA MALTA

  • very Mediterranean! I love it!

  • very Mediterranean! I love it!

  • malta was great..Olivia Lewis was singing godd, but she was very nervous..but I think this song sholud be in final..

  • Vertigo was one of the best song ever in this ESC, the music the lirycs and the choreografhy was excekent, Olivia did a great job in helsinky LOVE U OLIVIA

    u gives me VERTIGO

  • i loved it

  • song was good should be in final!!

while that stupid Ukrainian song was 2.

what a stupid taste of voters

  • And hey!I know she didn't pass the semi final but it's not Malta worst entry cuz didn't make it to the final. She got 15 points better than 1 point in 2006.

  • she didn't make the final because people didn't understand the song and the performance isnt something you'd expect. It was different

  • Vertigo is a good song and this year in the MSFE there aren't good songs as Vertigo.Everytime I hear this song my body becomes spiky spiky lol!

  • I wish I could relive this moment.All this years taking part,they sent Olivia to a semifinal,shame.

  • why is it a shame? it's a blessing she went to the semi final... I wouldnt have fallen in love with the song and the performance... I wouldn't have bought the same exact fans they used and know the choreography off by heart if it wasn't for this :P

  • Yeah! This was song was her best but if it was directly in the final it's different.

  • viva malta

  • this song/performance was too good for eurovision... it's a very dramatic ballad. the performance is very artistic and theatractical. Something you wouldn't expect from eurovision... besides the camera shots were poorly organized... it made it look messy and most of the performance was cut out from hall shots...

  • Its the theatrical side that i guess i didn't really like but I wouldn't want my opinion to stop anyone else enjoying it :)

  • No doubt she can sing but I think it was the entire song that was just bad

  • it's only bad if you make it bad... if people understand the meaning of the song then a lot of people can relate to it... it's one of the songs I'll be performing in the future ;)

    (8)Olivia Gives me VerTigo (8)

  • She is really good.... and beautiful woman.

  • Olivia even though you didn't qualify you are a great singer... I think malta was stolen but the chairman didnt do anything soo we should live with it.. (Ara meta kien hemm is sabih fabrizio qata show bmalta qabez ghalih imma imsomma...)Olivia never forget the 30000 you got from us maltese... and if you try agian you'll get even more. x-x-x Olivia fan for ever

    Grande Malta, grande Olivia!!

(8)Loving you gives me Vertigo (8)

  • qallek li malta kienet wahda mil ahjar ta esc 2007... u ogbitu olivja looool

  • This was a formidable attempt by the Maltese. Sadly enough, we had given Europe Chiara with a unique voice that remained unsurpassed in the ESC. The expectation is now very hard to satisfy, and this pressure will continue. There appears to be a curious kind of brew materialising here in Australia. It could very well be much within reach of the Maltese camp. Those on the prowl for singular talent, please take note. I shall not say more on the matter.

  • her voice was really strong. ok..im maltese i didnt really like the song. but it was good enough to be in the top 5

  • best 1 Malta 2 portugal 3 Poland 4 Turkey 5 Slovenia 6 DENMARK 7 Norway 8 Iceland 9 Georgia 10 MOLDOVA
  • One of best from semifinals..

    1. Slovenia

    2. Malta

    3. Moldova.

  • agreed ;P.... i would also add netherlands and iceland too :D ... ow and cyprus XD

  • It´s One of my Favourites - Eurovision 2007

  • her voice is horrible

  • Her voice is very strong. She was just nervous.

  • her voice is beautiful idit -_-

  • mmh sorry not 7th wonder as foreignly influenced i wanted to mention "desire" desire and vertigo.. they`re still got songs don`t get me wrong it`s just that i don`t see them representing malta...

  • well I understand that. so I know where you're coming from. I just look beyond the whole representing the country thing. The performance/song is what's important. But think about it. Would you rather have Vertigo or another poppy upbeat dance song AGAIN?

  • I referred to the entries from last year of Portugal and the Netherlands.Weren't they great?Danca Comigo and On Top Of The World. We gave if I'm not mistaken7 points to the Netherlands but none to Portugal and that was bad.

  • maybe it could be beacuse of excitement..

  • well infact gerad and philip havea tendency to create different styles for eurovision... I`d liked a lot Julie and Ludwig`s on again off again ... about I also liked 7th wonder but i found spellbound a bit too country for eurovision whilst 7th wonder and vertigo foreign ethnically influenced to go in the eurovision... dejavu was better to go to the esc coz the ethnic sound wasn`t particulary intrensic with a particular country;)

  • I think Gerard wrote vertigo due to the fact they wanted something different. Different is what most people arn't used to. That's why it's better to give it a shot.

  • Yes,this year's Vodka is a different style too.

  • the choriography is nice altough i would have preferred maltese dancers since it`s eurovision... if this song was not a eurovision song i would appreciate much more. Infact i cannot denie that i still listen to the song... but i still firmly believe that if malta wants to qualify well she has to express her maltese identity as serbia did this year as greece did with helena and as ukraine did with ruslana and sertab did with turkey

  • excuse me..... but how did serbia show her identity? by sending a harry potter on stage ;p?.... mmm and how did helena? and ukraine...? Oo? XDDD are ukrainians so violent and energetic Oo?

  • i`m not saying that vertigo is a song that noone should listen coz it`s crap but simply it wasn`t an ideal song to represent malta when we r living a trend of national dentity in the eurovision... i would have had nothing aganist olivia if she used this song in any other festival but not in the eurovision...

  • well now I understand where you're coming from. I for once supported a Maltese entry that I truely loved for the first time. The whole dramatic visuality is what captures me. The song and the performance. I was glad to see something different. Nothing bubblegum. The asian theme suited it. Even though it wasn't a winner for Eurovision. It will be very well looked at at other places alone.

  • This song was good for eurovision.Tell me you liked "I Do" better. That was crap, seriously.

  • U have sooo rigth... THAT was CrapcrapCRAP!!! and he sound like fame x.x

  • wtf are you on about?

the song was amazing... the performance was visuaully great!!!

    it's too good for eurovision!

  • On the other hand Olivia Lewis acted very snobbish with the other singers and compers... even when she was interwieved during the maltasong her way of doing showed that(IM GONNA WIN WHATEVER IM BETTER THAN THE OTHERS) i think she should had remained more down to earth... the results speak by themselves...

  • Excitment does that to people. Take Paris Hilton for example. She's always excited. It explained her home-made porn film. Although in this case it's different.

  • But than Olivia became different.. 1at with dejavu wearing a giant making dress that tried to impress... strangely enough with this song everyone knew that olivia was gonna win? maybe coz most maltese felt sorry for her for the previous year results?

  • When I first watched all the music videos on the esc site. None of them, well some, didn't catch my attention. When I saw Malta I fell in love with it. When I saw the rehearsal I instantly had a feeling that Malta would have won or make the top 10. Sadly, either due to politics, Malta failed to make it. Even though it was rated to win the contest.

  • You should have sent Klinsmann then.

  • if i was in olivia`s shoes that means that i have accepted a public life and therefore i accepted criticsm... if a person does not accept to face criticsm than he should make a step back and retire from the public scene.. There were times when olivia had great songs that were not so foreignly marked but where more "international styles" such as take a look and give me wings.. till there everything was ok...

  • I've heard Olivia's songs. I loved them. I love Vertigo due to the dramatic visuality and it's performance. I've liked Chiara's songs. But last year was horrible. Vertigo is a song that made up for last year. Even though it didn't make the final.. it's a performance that catches one eye. It depends how you look at it in a visual point of view.

  • about ur sailor moon what did u say anime??? mmh thoose episodes u have are not the anime series but rather the simply childish girlish cartoon... tell me so what did ur friends give u as presents?? mmh some sort of softtoys a giraffe soft toy do u sleep with it during the night? tell the truth what do u like of olivia? do u imagine dressing up like her with two men with their naked torsos flappering around u?

  • The Japanese version is M+ while the English version was chopped down to G. I simply got the English version and created a fan video. Well I got money, cologne, portable dvd player and the iPhone. No stuffed toys ;) unless you're talking about a dildo. Then you're way off track. I love Olivia because she accomplished her dream. She got on Eurovision and poured her heart into the song.

  • well I'd re-do this song/performance. Exactly the same choreography. 3 girls. 2 guys. Different outfit for me xD it's more better live than on tv. On tv you miss the important bits. Live you see everything. As I said it comes down to creative visuality. The dramatic song comes with a dramatic performance. It depends how you look at it.

  • u act as a european??? when u speak so rudely and arrongantly... forget it! and how come it seems that u like a song which most europeans didnot enjoy.. about u.. u can never be considered european... 1st of all do u have a europaen passport? and a european citizenship? i guess u have the australian ones so whatever the case australia is the country in which u belong...

  • I've lived in Europe for 3 years. I have a european passport and a european citizenship. The only place you belong is a cage to be thrown into a boiling volcano. Most Europeans don't know the meaning of Vertigo. Malta went for the Asian theme. Which is good. Would you like to see something different or something that you've seen 10 times?

  • Oh so according to u most eurovision viewers r loosers coz they did not vote this song... and that means that they did not like such a song... So anyone who has different and better cultural tastes than urs is a looser.. pls don`t tell me that moltiva`s lyrics can be compared to theese lyrics??? oh well well u know everything and anyone who does not agree with u is a looser ok...

  • Did I say that? Stop putting words into my mouth. Because only idiots with a low self of steem do that. I loved Molitva. Those lyrics are great. Vertigo is a song that reflects on a relationship. Something most people experience.

  • The portugese entry was good too!Did it pass the semi final.

  • plus i need to correct myself socrates stated that everyone is ignorant and the most ignorant person is the one has does not accept his ignorance... that`s why hearing other peoples opinions and criticsm is important...
