One of the first parkour videos I ever watched, and I fell in love with the sport instantly. It was when it wasn't all over youtube. I don't like the pakour now, a lot of people here just do it because they think its "cool" I did it because of the feeling everytime I landed something perfectly. I did it because it was just fun for me. There are a lot of posers where I'm at right now and it sickens me. They even took most of the best parkour areas.

@HairFIip complaining about Parkour means you never did it because Parkour is getting from point A to point B nothing more nothing less your thinking of freerunning which is another word for "Showing off" while doing Parkour you dont land anything in parkour you just got a better time then last time....

@NicoLikesPie you can freerun without showing off and in your deffinition of parkour does it mean that if you run in a straight line faster than the last time you ran in a straight line (from point A to B) does that mean that you're doing parkour then? You do 'land' things in parkour. I mean you just watched these videos right? When you jump... you have to land... (and possible roll considering the height)

@HairFIip how do you freerun without showing off? Freerunning is a lot of acrobatics and such. I have to agree with NicoLikesPie on this one. Parkour is getting from point A to point B, and technically running straight is part of parkour, unless when you try and get to your next obsticle you prefer to run in zig zags?

Parkour is the sport of getting from point A to point B quickly whilst effectively and not using a lot of energy. Which is why the techniques were created because they don't use a lot of energy and don't lose much speed when getting over an obstacle.

Free-running is the same, but there's no purpose. You just do it for fun.

If we are referring ot the french word - le parkour [le pahkur] then in english it would be either [par-core] or the same parkur. I prefer the par-core version.
