well jojo I have a female pigeon too and she lays eggs every now and then...I asked a pigeon forum why she layed eggs and they said it's because she considers her care taker her mate....bahahhaa so your pigeon thinks your her mate :)

You were right; not much longer after this video was filmed, she made two eggs! So she's a girl for sure now, and yes it was some nest building behavior. :)

I've got a male dove that does the same thing occasionaly in my lap. I think he just wants to carve out a nice place to take a nap.
