  • I had only ever heard this song in Sonic. I had no idea it was an actual song!

  • OMG, I cannot stop listening to this amazing song! It's just too good!

  • I didnt think that Tails was a girl, I thought that he was a boy, and he is =P

I thought that he was a kind of Sonic's little brother, and I thought that SEGA didnt use this song to talk about love, but talk about a strong friendship between those 2 amazing guys (or animals), because Tails saved Sonic in the last cutscene, and thats the proof of a strong friendship!!

  • TAILS IS REALLY A GIRL!!!!

  • @JoSilverNG Yeah, the original concept was for tails to be a female.

  • Woops, Looks like I have a new favorite sonic song

  • Happy birthday sonic :)

  • We Japanese is healed by a singing voice and a smile of Miwa Yoshida and is encouraged and it is strongly there.

She is the angel who was born to sing.

  • And BTW, EARGASMOMGTHATWASSOWONDERFULT^T

  • And I said I wouldn't ever like Classic *hits self with keyboard*

  • EPIC UNAWARENESS!!!!!

  • Nakipsi, you are a hero for posting this! THIS IS SO ACE!!!!!!!!!! *head explodes*

  • please somebody send me this song on my email with good quality

  • It is ending of Sonic 2 for Sega Genesis!

  • @SuperAnimeshnica The Sonic 2 ending is based off of this. They were made by the same composer I believe.

  • I feel like I completed a certain badass game ;p

  • Wat year did dis song come out?

  • @GeraldB526 1991-1992

  • No wonder I've never heard this song until now. I'm allergic to playing shitty games like Sonic Next Gen.

This shoulda been Sonic's credits theme in SSBB.

  • @YoByAxEs It was Sonic's credits theme in the aforementioned Sonic Next-Gen.

  • Don't know a thing about the Sonic 3 game. What I do know is that this song was released in January of '94 as the "B-side" of the single "Wintersong" I bought it at a music store in Namba, Osaka the day it came out. Dreams come true started as a trio in the late '80s, but is now a duo consisting of Miwa Yoshida (Singer-songwriter0 and Masato Nakamura (Singer and Bassist). It is their voices you hear.

  • This is exactly the same as the sonic 2 ending song

  • I was wondering, who's the guy singing in this song?

  • Whether there's "proof" or not, its undoubted that MJ had some heavy influence on the Sonic games. You gotta take into account that the man had a video game himself...besides, its good either way.

  • this is a sonic song?

    holly crap.

and i used to think Live and learn was the best sonic song. how worng i was.

  • @davegorack Yes, this is a Sonic song, but it was used in Sonic 2, in the credits, you can hear it, just go in the options =D

  • heh this song fits shadow and maria more then sonic...

  • I'm assuming if Sega had went along with the decision to make Tails a female that it might be quite a fitting tune.

As it stands, it's still a lovely tune by all means, and finally makes me want to get off my lazy bum and get back into singing.

  • Ahh, Great memories. I have the Japanese version of this, I didn't know they did an english one. Regardless, it's a great song. Did you know they used another song's melody for Star Light Zone from Sonic 1? It's called

    "Kusuriyubi no Kesshin"

  • I have that song on my iPod actually. ^-^

They used quite a few of their song's melodies in the first two games. They also used "Marry Me?" for Green Hill Zone.

I'll send you a link to a video that shows some of the songs that share tunes with Sonic songs.

  • "Sweet Sweet Sweet" is the Japanese version of the song

  • @kofiad13 sadly that wont be on the sonic sound track they just released, but this song is... and i knew it, i knew as a kid the song (in this video) was too much to be just a game tune, but wasnt til now that i found sweet dream.

  • anyone have a download link?

  • From Dreams Come True, Akon, Micheal Jackson, and Crush 40, SEGA goes up and beyond when it comes to getting famous international musicians to do their music.

Anyways, thanks for posting this. Ever since I was 5 (15 years) I was trying to figure out what "Dreams Come True" meant in the original Sonic 2!

  • jackson had near 0 input in sonic. Jun senoue did.,

  • Listen closely to the Sonic 3 soundtrack and listen to Jackson's works and come back to say that again.

  • i have done. I know em all. There are small similarities but is it a FACT Jun Senoue and others composed the vast majority

  • Well, Jackson only had input in Sonic 3 (& Knuckles)

  • That is what I originally meant. Sonic 1 +2 was masato nakamura of dreams come true.

  • Sonic 3 samples Dangerous. Ice Cap Zone is Who Is It and Smooth Criminal. The entire game's major recurring theme is blatantly Stranger in Moscow (and the credits and final boss theme are derived from it). The mini boss theme is new jack swing right to its core and has "woo" and "come on" voice samples by a high pitched male singer for a reason.

  • There is no proof at all for that. Whilst some are undoubtedly inspired by Jackson, direct rips and total covers are certainly not what was done. Jackson had no direct involvement either.

There are also no "samples" they have made it sound the same in parts but this is not the same thing

  • Yes there are samples. Isolate the PCM channel in Carnival Night zone. You can clearly hear Heavy D saying "Jam" from the song of the same name. It happens twice right around that chromatic horn section which was taken from that song too.

Jackson did have direct involvement. There are many reports of him writing an entire soundtrack to the game before being dropped. What happened after is a mystery, my guess is they didn't have time to replace everything.

  • "there are reports" that isn't proof.

  • It's strong evidence though when they came from within the development team. What reason would they have to make something like that up?

  • show me a source for this...

  • Do you want a proof?

Search for "proof jackson Hardcore 101" on Google.

  • I believe he just later incorporated them into his other songs, like I think that Stranger In Moscow was released after the release of Sonic 3.

  • I've got no proof you're right, but I like your truth better so I'm agreeing :)

  • @DLPBurke

Check again. Brad Brauxer admitted it in an interview with "Black and White" magazine.

  • @DLPBurke I heard it was sonic 3 (only) micheal jackson's music team worked on it NOT MJ himself, as it was just before the whole scandal happened (was gonna be a publicity trick as he was popular at time if game preproduction) jackson had zippo to do with anything, outside of if there was any signatures to allow his team to do it (im not a legitigation lawyer nor did i see his teams contract)

  • you fail an a JS fan

jackson had as much input in this as JS did

  • @chocolatehoney15 where is the proof. I see none.

  • Everyone sway your matches to this. After never actually playing Sonic 2, I still feel the nostalgic love.

Oh, and IMO, the Akon version sucks hard. Don't listen to it.

  • Damn, its a wonder how they came up for the melody to this O.O

    Such a beautiful song :D

  • Thanks! I love this song!!!!

  • Love this song.
