In fact, that school is currently a "non player" in the academic world of research economics. This is largely due to its refusal to adopt rigorous methods to test its hypotheses.

This school's assertions are largely uncorroborated by data. I know this because I am a PhD student of economics in one of America's top universities.

With that said, let me tell you a bit more about "The Road to Serfdom". Although Hayek argued strongly against government planned economies in his book, he equally undermined, free, democratic, laissez faire economic systems. This has been shown by various scholars such as W. Block and others. Thus, Hayek simply rejected both.

fool, first socialism does not equal communism. They are different concepts. Communism is a political system that advocates for equal, egalitarian sharing of collective resources. Socialism on the other hand is an economic system that advocates for centralized economic planning where the state controls the market and allocates business transactions. That does not mean SHARING ALL AVAILABLE RESOURCES equally among all people.
