  • i LOVE these videos. i think that you should make a video on the Eridanus supervoid or the Sloan Great Wall.

  • Even Jupiter can beat that star up!

  • like if you watched this shit high and it blew your mind off haha (:

  • How about the world watches this stuff.

And stops wasting money on guns and for more land.

How about you start saving for the attempt to get to Gliese.

Thats where you'll have more land than you every wanted.

  • Let's hope it exists.

  • Wait, -28 Celsius? How can liquid water exist if it's frozen?

  • @StygianDysnomia It doesn't freeze below 4-5 feet...

  • @StygianDysnomia The day side of the planet would likely have a temperature well above freezing.

  • I love the song at the start.

  • i'm just curious how they could possibly know that the planet will always face the same way similar to the moon to the earth?

  • If we had the means to get to it..trust me..we wouldn't be using oil lmao.

  • To few people watch this sort of programs.

  • we have 945 gliesens here on Earth

  • i want to make a request to change the name of the planet to"Reach"!lol

  • @mitchmagic23 but then the covenant will invade we would have no master chief so we would be screwed fast :(

  • RAPE LITTLE 5-7 YEAR OLD GIRLS AND RUN TO Gliese 581g TO EVADE POLICE..........

  • What a nerdy name.

  • thank god i have a house a teleporter there and all i need to do is get the word and i i am out of here

  • Theoreticly if there were life on Gliese 581g and the gravity were that which you explained would it not make sense that a life form would also be 70% smaller in mass than us to cope with that kind of environment?

  • I am 100% sure that there is a planet in another galaxy that has life forms that are smart like us.

  • @MrGustomundo4

Perhaps even our galaxy, who knows?

  • We should invade and kill all the people there.....

    Nah Im kidding :P

  • @Kirbyrulez1000 I saw we go their and take all of their alien women.

  • simply put... THE COOLEST YOUTUBE VID IVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow this vid really attracted some great minds =P

  • Hey guys ask yourself this well 3 questions and how we screwed this up... Just think now.. 1. If we werent spending so much money on war WHERE WOULD WE BE NOW?!?!? maybe we would be figuring out how to make mars a atmosphere or already there at that planet... 2. Are we just ganna fuck that plannet up to and then leave it to die? 3. if theres life are we ganna enslave or kill them being the human beasts we are? All these questions huh

  • Yay. Another world to fuck up

  • @TheElySKY The world was here LONG before out existence and will still be here LONG after we are gone, trust me we are NOT hurting the Earth!

  • Fuck man just imag new planet I think will need a new G,W and a new bethoven will have to start again

  • How about 581d! We could live there right?

  • Does it have oil? Can we invade?

  • @stratocaster4321 its a population consisting of billion Justin Beibers.

  • @stratocaster4321

    Spoken like a true american!

  • Comment removed

  • @stratocaster4321

Actually there is a mineral that can solve Earth's energy problems. It's blue, posses ability to hover and is worth 20 million for a kilo. ;-)

  • @stratocaster4321 norway has oil \o/

  • HA! those look like balls

  • I would'nt worry too much! At 20.5 light years away it would take us 500,000 years to get there at the current top speed of mankind in space! So we won't be visiting anytime soon!

  • what i want to know is they say if a star turns to a supernova it would take a very very long time for us to see that cause it reaches us at the speed of light! so lets say in the future we plane a trip to gliese and we get half way there which at the speed of light would take us almost 20 years to get to. but anyways we get half way there only to find it is turned to asupernova and isnt there anymore!

  • @efc2009 fortunately it will never turns to a supernova, because the lifespam of the dwarf stars is realy long (trillions of years), and even if it is near its death the star will never turn into a supernova (because of its size).

  • yea but if we cant take care of our own then maybe its good to find another to try and start fresh on.. because we will eventually run out of supplies that provide us with life. we are looking so when this earth is over the human race doesnt have to be..

  • Worrying about another planet but cant take care of our own.

  • lets not kill everyone there like we did when we discovered "the new world"

  • hmmm not bad but still not far enough from Detroit for my tastes...

  • I wonder what they call the theory of relativity on their planet...

  • Pulse detection from the system Gliese 581g exists.

  • i'm pretty sure there's not only Gliese 581g and Earth as habitable places in our Universe. I'm pretty sure there's millions, maybe even billions, or infinite of them somewhere out there. I mean, even before the big bang, it was all just black/dark space. Even before the big bang, there should've been something there besides, being nothing in existence. Nor time or space. But I'm sure space has always existed. For more than 4.7billion years.

  • Come on, end of all religion?? That's laughable just the thought. So we find one possible inhabitable planet, and we're all reaching for the tin foil to protect our brains! Fact is, the universe is infinite, yes there are other life forms out there, but the chances of discovering it, or indeed being contacted by it are so very slim it's not even worth thinking about.

  • the end of religion as we no it

  • @FrozenMulletConquest What does extraterrestrial life have to do with religion? I know there's nothing in Christianity that says anything for or against aliens.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet Well if there's life there's no god simple i don't want to go in to deep because there would be no end to the argument but rest assure it would prove there was no god/gods ,.,.,

  • I HOPE THEY FIND LIFE ON THIS PLANET!!!!!!!!!!! THAT WILL REWRITE THE SCIENCE BOOKS AND RELIGIONS!!

  • 21st Century Breakdown Lol :))

  • sad thing, its been confirmed this planet DOES NOT exist :(

  • @elmalacopa .....But it does...

  • @b33p3rz sorry bro, its been declared unconfirmed, it is more likely it does not exist

  • @elmalacopa You couldn't be more wrong; it most certainly does exist. My family emigrated from Gliese 581g (we have a different name for it) in 1982. Well, technically we lived on one of its moons; it has several moons. We settled in Oklahoma, and have been living there ever since. Believe it or not, there are many Gliesians living in Oklahoma. I must say, you humans are quite fascinating.

  • @itsfurekmang it just happens that the name of your planet is what we claim to call it?

  • @jomarantolinbuy Fail! He says they have a different name for it.

  • @jomarantolinbuy To answer your question, there is no symbol or combination of characters on my control panel to give you the name in my native tongue. However, I can give you instructions for a rough replication of the name phonetically. Hold your tongue and say "apple".

  • @itsfurekmang fascinating!

  • @itsfurekmang Did you attend Miskatonic University?

  • @itsfurekmang greeting , bitch ......

  • lol homo

  • @itsfurekmang If you were from Gliese, you would known you immigrated, not emigrated. Only humans make grammar errors like that -__-

  • @itsfurekmang how are you a Gliesian if from where you come from they call it something different? Answer me that!

  • @ismokeot420420 Can't you tell he's trolling? You're a fucking dumbass,

  • @killetrocitystick wow you need to A. learn to take a joke B. Tone down your hostility and actually get ya some friends(and maybe some action, prob easy for you cuz u look so cool talking smack on youtube)

  • @ismokeot420420 I was calling you a dumbass, not talking smack, dumbass.

  • @itsfurekmang careful! the united sates might want to go invade or motherland and steal all our oil

  • @elmalacopa No it has not. It is still up in the air.

  • @elmalacopa You don't exist! Huh, yeah... How d'ya like them apples? ;D

  • @tngfsoldierroblox I know DnalgnE, Dnalop, Ecnarf, Ynamreg oh and Nianps

  • thumbs up if it paused and wouldn't play again at 3:58

  • I love the Universe !

  • I think theres hundrends if not thousands if not millions, or billions of other planets are habitable, but shit at least a couple hundred

  • the sun from Gliese 581 looks like its going to die out soon :(

  • Comment removed

  • hi humans,

its me arcius1 from gliese 581g

just checking on how you are doing

    chinese food makes me sick

    but i like cheeseburgers

    have a nice day

    see you soon

  • @doxepin150 See ya.

  • @doxepin150 lol if ur from gliese 581g then come to earth and bring nasa up to it

  • @MrNHLMan oh!oh! i will! the nasa nerds are too dumb and slow and nerdy. we will teach them how.

  • @doxepin150 lol u better quickly cause nibiru is coming! nibiru won't be that bad probaly

  • It would be neat if Earth rotated like that. I mean, it would suck if you lived in the night-only side, but if you lived in between night and day you would be seeing a permanent sun rise or sun set and it would always be pretty outside. Hahaha.

On a more serious note, if there IS life on that planet, it is most likely single celled organisms. I wouldn't be expecting to discover any "V" type aliens.

  • Tony, you are awesome, thank you for the amazing videos and info.

  • My opinion is that is we did get to this planet. We would ruin it like we have the one were one.

  • if theres is life and if humans could live there, lets hope no human will ever get on that planet........

  • @rotzlo what if on the planet there is creatures similar to human that has technology millions of times greater than ours

  • @kimbobrand7

    than we have competitiion

or if they are friendly, we can use their tachnology to save earth:)

  • @rotzlo Why you say such a thing? What I believe you should say only the "chosen" humans who are humane, geniuses, and have no such criminal record recorded. That would only be....a few out of the 7 billion...

  • Man, I hope my grandchildren to the 50th power would able to live in that planet.

  • @VoltaireExia At the rate our technology is advancing, your kids or grandchildren might be able to see it.

  • Apparently it is the *spin* of a planet that ages us

  • Damn, I wish they would just speak dumb people language so all us non-intellects could understand.

  • at least another 800 years before we touch it

  • what if Earth isn't the real home of men but gliese is our home and that the first humans came from Gliese and we all grow up on earth and discover it really late that planet is our home planet and the Aliens that are spying on earth is their home

but we are destroying it .. If this is true than we humans are really sick and soon we go to gliese and destroy that planet while gliese is where humans came from

    That would be so crazy

  • Ok can someone help me out. So this planet has no rotation like earth? Is that why it stays light on one side and dark on the next?

  • @forevernight6 its like the moon... it rotates with its star in a way that only one side is ever facing its orbit try it yourself with a handball and a soccer ball or something.. hope it helped

  • @forevernight6

    yep like the moon

  • reminds me of mass effect 2! when traveling across the galaxy!

  • does anyone have any idea how old that dwarf star is?

  • maybe we shouldnt fuck up that planet but make ours better?

  • @GameTechify agreed. =]

  • @GameTechify Inevitably the human race is simply too much of a large-scale species with uncontrolable growth for one planet to hold. Eventually, no matter how hard we try to conserve things, there will simply be too many people on the Earth and not enough resources for us to share. Colonization of Gliese 581 G (or, as it's sometimes called, Zarmina) would not, however, be a viable solution, as it would be quite uncomfortable to live there. But, perhaps a similar planet could be found.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet It wouldn't be difficult to live there. I would love for 37 day years.. Sorry but the 355 is to long for me. The temperature, yeah sure it's colder.but no more then the oil sands in Alberta when im working in winter. Personally i like being colder then i like being hot anyway. Plus it would be nice to breath some unpolluted air for a fucking change. Stupid chinks and there complete disregard for our ecosystem. look at there air anyday of the year and you'll see.

  • @MostUnfortunate The air probably isn't any better there than it is here. Seriously, the air there could be total crap. In fact, it probably is because it's unlikely plant life provides sufficeint O2 replacement. This is a very new planet, and life probably hasn't gone past the unicellular stage yet. Really, it is probably a nigh-barren wasteland. Probably looks nothing like Darwin IV or Pandora. But the big thing is gravity. Humans could not adapt to this planet's high gravity.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet actually gliese 581 g is fairly old its star its already a red dwarf and is older than our son so the planet would to be old probably older than the earth

  • @sentrygunner Oh really? I thought Red dwarfs were baby stars! Well, ok then! It is possible for there to be complex life on it, in that case. Probably not any advanced civilizations though. Or maybe it's just a really tiny star that hasn't "evolved" past the red dwarf stage (smaller stars last longer). But that's just a theory.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet yeah it could have evolved smart life or it could have stalled a bit late evolvers there star still has billions of years before it trully dies maybe 10billion

  • @sentrygunner Well, it COULD have sentient life right now if I'm correct, but still, it's rather unlikely that an advanced civilization exists on it currently, as we probably would have noticed them by now. Think tribals.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet it could be a civilization like us radio messeges from that planet would take 20+ years to get here plus its unlikely they even know about earth kinda sad actually

  • @sentrygunner I guess tribals wasn't thhe right word per say, I guess I meant pre-long sidtance radio. Still, we probably would have heard them by now, though I guess it is possible that we somehow never ran into eachother while looking for other sentient life forms.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet if only if only

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet i wouldnt say tribals. their star (plus the planet) is way older than earth, so they probably have advanced technologies like us. gliese 581 and the planet are older because the red dwarf stars live many bilions of years, even trilions of years because its fuel (hydrogen and helium) develop very slowly, taking all these years until its depleted.

  • @MostUnfortunate But that isn't to say there aren't other planets that are more human friendly. Remember, we can only detect very large planets. If we were to find a planet with a regular terrestrial size, 3.5 billion or more years old, and with a similar tempature to Earth-then it would probably be liveable. Heck, even this Gliese 581 G Zarmina planet could, in the future, hold sentient life. Humans, however, have a unique set of needs.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet I do agree with you, and i also meant to type 365 days a year lol. There are undoubtedly way better alternatives to this Gliese 581g.. Hell there are probably even way better alternatives then Earth, I could be wrong but until we discover every planet we will never know. But the unique thing about humans is there adaptability, absolutely your right that this planet would be a drastic change to this days era, and probably inhabitable to humans.

  • But that isn't to say that if there extraterrestrial life form hasn't had billions of years to evolve to the climate. Also with the sun always on the same spot the provides awesome agricultural possibilities, with a very stable climate. Also remember that agriculture has had billions of years to evolve also. But hey man, im no scientist for sure this is just my opinion on something that amazes me. The universe has so much to teach us. and i wish i could see it all in my life time

  • @MostUnfortunate This planet is definately amazing. Though, if I were to become president, and was going to send funding off to NASA for one unmanned intersteller mission (which is something I'd never do normally, at least today) I'd ask NASA to keep looking before I chose one. Though, if I had to do it now, I'd chose Gleise 581 g.

And yes, there probably are better alternatives to Earth.

  • @GameTechify (Continued from last post) if our species expanded, or population would be far less dense and therefore, our planet would not be anywhere near as screwed up. Essentially, I think our species should become a "nomadic" one. We go onto a planet, colonize it, once the population grows to be too big, we simply have some people move on. Plus, if a planet becomes too polluted for COMFORTABLE living, we just find a new one until the old one 'replenishes', so to speak.

  • @GameTechify you saved me the time to type that

  • hey lets get in a ship and go fuck up that planet too..

  • who knows, maybe aliens on that and other planets found Earth and are trying to find out if there's life here

  • Hey, I heard Gliese 581g was just a miscalculation, is that true?

  • we're limiting our notions of "ideal conditions" to life as we know it...how do we know there isn't some completely different form of life that dosen't have any of the same requirements as the life on our planet?

  • @starhawks1 Well, we should at least look for worlds with conditions we KNOW support life. We shouldn't just look for ones we think MIGHThave life. Even if life doesn't need Earth like conditions, why aren't there aliens on mars, venus, mercury, or the moons of Saturn? It's obvious, They're not Earth like, in any way, shape, or form.

  • @Halflifefan54 it's complete luck that life developed the way it did on earth, so why couldn't it have developed a completely different way on another planet? I'm just saying there could be life on other, non earth like planets

  • @starhawks1 Because we've never seen life arise anywhere else that's not earth like. Until it's proven that life doesn't need water, or anything else to survive like we do, we can't just go spend billions of dollars on a wild assumption that's never been proven.

  • @Halflifefan54 I never suggested spending amount of money on it, I'm just saying it's possible

  • @starhawks1 I know, but what I'm saying is we should focus on probability, not possibility.

  • I say we name this planet "Reach" and protect it with orbital cannons.....

  • I bet some aliens in an older habitable planet are laughing their asses off while we are trying so hard to find alien bacteria, and they watch us like a reality show :P

*cough* All jokes aside, this is a great video :)

  • We weigh 70% more. So we'd be freaking fat asses eating cake every 37 days.

  • What if this is where the aliens came from in the movie, "The Fourth Kind"? O.o and Ashley is there..

  • As long there is water, there is life..

  • I really think we should explore space..

  • @hannahtill21 We need to fix some of the problems we're having right here instead of having the same problems on two planets.

  • i would be really old there if a year goes by in 37 days

  • oh i recognize his voice from the black hole video

  • OMG THERES A SUNNY SIDE AND A NIGHTMARE SIDE I WANT TO BE THERE

  • I AM FOREVER MINDFUCKED

  • i'll get lots of christmas presents living in that planet

  • This guy must really like saying the word "habitable"

  • Comment removed

  • @badjoj015 did you really have to clarify what planet you're from? .....seriously?

  • you suck, this planet rocks.

  • lets look at a possible reality. If we even DO manage to find a way to reach that planet with some sort of device, we would probably be able to go FURTHER into our galaxy as well. We would just find an even better planet that isnt DAY time always on one side. This planet sucks!

  • @thericate Not only that but consider "you would weigh 70% more" there. That's close to double the weight you have to carry around not including clothing and gear. Let's say you weigh 175lbs right now. Multiply by .7 (122.5lbs) and add that to your weight and you now weigh 297.5lbs naked. I'm glad we found it but the probability of use actually building a life there isn't great.

  • on that planet we can make fun of fat people not being able to walk :D

  • Now we need to invent Artificial gravity and fusion reactors so we can power engines powerful to get humans there.

  • This Planet should be in Mass effect 3

  • all this is cool and lest of data is possible to have life but only problem is that one side is faced to star at all time this lower chance of life few milion times than it would be id it rotates like earth so you can forget it

  • The babies born in that 70% gravity would be super people

  • @coolasj they would have super saiyan training since birth

  • IF WE GET TO CHOOSE THE NAME

IT HAS TO BE PANDORA 2.0

  • We just need to find a Mass Effect Relay now.

  • @frjoethesecond Yeah I don't know why we haven't found one yet, they said its at the back of Pluto so.....

  • @frjoethesecond HAAHAH EXAAAAACTLY

  • now all we need is a space ship as fast as the speed of life.

  • Starting a petition to rename this planet to PANDORA!

  • @SashaSek Yeaa!

  • @SashaSek I was just thinking that earlier...

  • reptillain planet just like earth but no humans

  • dude i wish one day i could see that planet with my own eyes.i can only wish

  • If it's tidally locked, that means 1 day = 1 year for Gliese 581g, which means a week is longer than a year. Trippy.

  • low sunlight can't provide enough energy to living things on gliese 581g to become a complex organisms like earth has. but never mind, our future generations will move to this planet.

  • I wonder if there's someone on Gliese 581 that made a video about finding life on Earth.
