The Beatles DIDN'T found rock'n'roll. They didn't even do the rock'n'roll-y stuff until later in their careers. But I hear FAR more bands say that they were influenced by the Beatles than they were influenced by Led Zeppelin. Zepplin's good, yeah, but didn't sell anywhere near as many records as the Beatles.

I'd say the founders of rock'n'roll will never be properly known. You'd say that the first rock'n'roll record could be "Maybelene" by Chuck Berry. But I heard on the radio last that a song by the title of "Good Rockin' Tonight" was a massive hit in 1947. So there's no concrete answer.

The song I Wanna Be your Man was written by Lennon and McCartney for the Rolling Stones 'cause the Stones needed a hit that would really give their band a boost. And the song became a hit, well not as big as expected but still, the Stones had a hit. Funny thing, though, when the Beatles recorded it, it became a bigger hit.
