Please do some research - Apple did not invent the dock bar, they copied it from Arthur. We also have to remember the Amiga. Apple also did not invent GUIs in general, far from it.

The first tablet device was made by IBM in '89 and Apples first attempt at a tablet (the Newton) was a huge flop, but that doesn't fit in their sales pitch. smart phones were crappy compared to today's standard, but before the iPhone they were good for the time and getting better already. iTunes and iPod weren't that revolutionary, good MP3 players were already out at the time, just not one with a picture of an Apple on it

@wilhamlin ok, well fine then maybe there were tablets beforehand, but you have to remember steve jobs wasn't a part of apple at that point. and you have to at least admit their marketing is pretty amazing to cause all the hype it has, and i stand by my comment about the iPhone. iTunes and the iPod while singularly weren't revolutionary they've become the most used mp3 player and music purchasing system, before iTunes i used to download a to of my music for free, but now with i use iTunes

@MaestroDraven i don't know, there can be a lot said for the iPad, I've used one, i would never buy one, but compared to every other tablet out on the market, its definitely the best value for money, which isn't something that can usually be said about apple products. as for iTunes i think its good because people who wouldn't usually pay for music are doing so, but you have to bear in mind most musicians make most of their money on stage, whether that be youtube or a real stage

@wilhamlin plus the iPod in its design was revolutionary, not that they made anything new, i have an apple computer but an android phone, i personally believe apple computers have the best paid for operating system, i have never tried linux so i cannot comment, but i can't say i can really be bothered with it. i have an android phone because while i like the iphone its too restricting, which is why i installed miui on my htc desire (miui is an iOS look a like)

Your opinion of OSX may be valid. It's certainly not a bad OS,but, it's lacking in abilities and versatility, at least from my perspective. Keep in mind that it was designed using open-source elements combined into a hybrid kernel, then charged for(a big shame in the computing industry),and even though it only costs $30, the inherent premiums on Mac hardware mean that Apple is MORE than making back its money there by forcing OSX on proprietary Macs. Either way, they get you.
