Did you use an adapter to attach the Kowa 2X Anamorphic lens? I have a canon scoopic and CP 16A that has an angenieux lens, could I attach the same anamorphic lens to my lenses? Beautiful film by the way.
@BlackRaven156 Thanks! Yes I used a step up ring from the Canon (9mm I believe) to Series 7 that fit perfectly on the Kowa. I would say that yes, you'd need to attach the Kowa to the existing lens on the Scoopic.
I have a 514XL as well, and I've heard that it tends to overexpose Tri-X stock because of its limited ability to recognize film speeds. How did you get the exposure to look so good here?
@joeyp77 Hi Joey: I think this is a bonehead move on my part. By the way this looks, I think I used Plus-X and incorrectly labeled it Tri-X. I never get the grain to look this tight using Tri-X.
getting Anamorphic lenses here in germany is kinda tricky... i hardly see some on ebay and most of them are hell of expensive...
But i do consider myself getting one someday. Especially for the use with my HV20 and Pentax KX. I'm sure you could reach a true Cinemascope aspect ratio with Pro8mm cameras and stock aswell. I can't wait to see a video using your 35mm adapter AND the Kowa 2x Anamorphic lense together in action ;)
che, no sabes... la 514 xl...se me rompio..en medio de una filmacion... dejo de andar el motor...me dijeron que eso pasa muchas veces con las CANON XL-S...(cualquier modelo en general) que es una pieza que tiene que es bio-degradable
Que suerte! No he ha oido de este problema con estas camaras. Sera una rueda dental? Hay modelos viejos de Kodak (XL-55) que esta piesa se vuelve a polvo despues de mucho tiempo. Yo tengo 5 modelos de Canon y ninguna me ha dado problemas, solo una pero fue question de el "meter"...todas marchan. De donde la comprastes? Yo uyo a las ventas de los paises de mucho calor y humedad (ie Miami, Texas, etc). Piensas comprarte otra?

I remember seeing Wittner Kinotechnic had some kind of mounting bracket set, but I don't see it there anymore.
