  • Classic tune in O'Town... From bak in da day!!!Luvin it stil...Wish I had da wax to spin it!!!

  • Vocal backing is nothing less than the Rolling Stones' 'Gimme Shelter'.

  • The vocal is a cover of Main Ingredient "Happiness is just round the bend" Danny Krivit put it on a sampler he did for Strutt Record's.

  • FLORIDA CLASSIC!!! Gainesville/Orlando u know this!!!

  • Gainesville/Orlando CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome track hacienda posse relive the moment .... peace

  • First real record I went lookin for. And found it!!!! Good lookin JV!!! First Orlando Dropshop

  • yeh!

  • class still sounds good 20 years later!!!!!

  • belting tune love it. i always pitched it up a bit though ;)

  • SASHA!

  • The vocal was not 'sampled' from Cuba Gooding but the lyrics were taken. And the original promo of this mix was released in 1990 and only remixed and re-released after there was a small buzz from the early New York scene. The picture of the cover above comes from the 1992 release.

  • @frankiebones01 Thats right, This used to play on the live broadcast from Club DV8 in Houston back in the spring of '91.

  • Nightmares on Wax Aftermath was made first but this track seemed to be played much more than the other...I lov

  • I remember always hearing this on B91 and I am a fucking dick for losing all my old tapes I had from the Dugo shows.

  • Hotter than hot, sweeter than a kiss;

    B91!

  • Bones what about Nightmares on Wax Aftermath? Isnt that where the sample or chorus comes from? This always baffled me how both tracks have the same hook. Which came first. The chicken or the egg??

  • Original sample is from "Cuba Gooding - Happiness Is Just Around The Bend" from 1983. Nightmares on Wax used the sample in 1991, Marathon & Altern 8 used the sample in 1992.

  • Marathon used the sample already in 1989 under their name "His name is dime", on the compilation Teutonic Beats Vol. 2.

  • Very cool. Found the CD.

    Teutonic Beats: Opus Two

    Label:E'G Records

    Catalog#:EGCD 74

    Format:CD

    Country:UK

    Released:1989

  • this is what sasha used to be about - a true classic ... i think he used to mix it into marathon - movin but not sure , the memory is a bit messed up !

  • Thank You for posting the correct version. Dave Lee should have been tarred and feathered for those awful remixes he did. The original 1990 pressing had only this version and an ambient one on the flip. It got no play. This release on the screen came out 18 months later and got popular for a hot minute.

I agree about one of my all time faves. Nothing came out like this in those days...the samples are ridiculous. Sunsonic "Kind Of Lovin" is one Youth did which is similar.

  • Used to be massive with Sasha - back when he was good.

    Choon.

  • This takes me back to the early 90's in Orlando. One of my fav all time tracks.

  • Aahz!! Kimball, Dave Cannalte, Chris Fortier... good old times

  • That is correct!

  • I actually have this on vinyl but it's packed up somewhere. Those were really good times.

  • I never got it on vinyl. Only recently got it on CD. Discogs is a great place to find those old tracks.

  • About 90 for me at the REV in Gainesville, FL--a Classic

  • Another kick ass song from the Club DV8 era in early 90's Houston.

  • Went to DV8 alll the time.

  • @overkill2010 you must be Johnny R.

  • Its the guitar that makes it suckeh.
