to me any Virginia regiment is "The best" being from Virginia. Also, my great, great,great,great grandfather was General John Glover, we reasearched our family history (DNA test).

And Glover was a good guy and a fierce patriot. Its a long way back, they kept the faith.

i dont like how this video makes it look like the 1st virgina was the best regiment in the continnental army, it definatly was a good regiment, but there were other regiments as well, like the 2nd pennsylvania, the 13th virgina, mad anthony waynes division, so honestly u cant just say the 1st virgina was the best regiment, u got to mention not just the 1st but all of the other virgina and other states regiments, they all fought and died so that their children, and theyre families could be free.

meetman, thats bs. You forget your "rights" was slavlery which contradicts what we were fighting for in the revolutionary war. Do you forget the whole saying ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL? Also the Declaration of Independance originally had anti-slavery in it but they took it out so they could get the south to fight. The so called "rights" that the confederates were fighting for were very different than those we all were fighting for in the American Revolution. i hope ur not a neo confederate.

The people of the Southern States have found the same thing. History is written by the Victors and Truth has nothing to do with it. Thr "Rights" won in the First Revolutionary War was stripped away during the second in 1861.

just like britain in ww2, america did not win the war, it was on the winning side. In the early days, just like britian also in ww2, america won simply by surviving as long as it did. When the french were involved, britian was finished. Plus there was never a consensus on whether the war should be fought at all in Britain. Please im not trying to attack americans, but your history seems to be cloudy by patriotism and rose tinted specs.

actually the only thing the french did for us was supply us with weapons, uniforms, etc. really the french military didnt do crap to help us. yes i can make an acception when they stormed the redoubt at yorktown. but where else did they give us help????

of course there were economic reasons why the split happened. the american economies where slave-based plantations, who like in ancient rome, needed constant expansionism for growth. england didnt support this, as it didn't benifit them as much as coastal dependent collonies did. this is why Native americans weren't so much on our side during the revolution. they knew the hammer would fall on them if we won.
