i never saw any other songs that he sang on the show that year other than the audition but when i heard his voice on "walking in mephis" it quite literally blew me away.. nowadays too many people dont care about what they are singing about. but that boy sings with heart and thats why i will be a fan of his for life!

Eli shouldve won. I couldn't believe that oprah singer won. I think there was 6 in the finale that year and I had 1. Eli Mattson 2. Nuttin but Strings and I forget who else was there but I had the oprah singer at 5th.

I honestly don't understand how he didn't win... one person sings songs in a semi-oprah voice and nothing else. . .while another man puts on a great performance and great piano playing along with singing at the same time... he really should have won
