Just noticed the emphasis on the word "he/him". Clearly this show is trying to say, "saving the Earth is a MAN'S job".

Well I'd say that they only said "he/him" because they were literally talking about Captain Planet, the main character this entire show is based on who happens to also be male but as for the show choosing the most "powerful" character in the show to be a male, that's totally different and yes, it sends the message that only men are strong enough to save the world.

@xxsweetGxx I think the MOST powerful person was Gaia, after all, she was the earth itself, that's where he got his power. She just couldn't do anything without worrying. If he gets hurt, all he needs to do is recharge, if SHE gets hurt, the whole planet dies. Looking at the amount of time he gets hurt, it's a good thing she stays behind. It more sends the message that as much as people in power WANT to help, they can't risk it and send their underlings.

Thanks, well to me in the scene when she shouts "Wind" I used this scene with Venus and it looked like there was wind around her and for Jupiter I thought earth because of the colors she was wearing but anyway thanks for sharing your opinion :)
