Why is it anyone is even defending these people?! If you don't want to be treated like a caged animal while giving birth... maybe you shouldn't enter another country illegally while ready to burst?! I have given birth twice in the past few years. It is a pain in the ass, and hurts like hell. I remember feeling trapped with the IV in my arm. I couldn't imagine how this women felt, not being able to move or change positions to cope with the pain. The whole situation should have been handle differently. Sadly, this happens to often in the US.

Ok yeah this is bad, however, these people are here ILLEGALLY. I know its wrong, but what about the fact that these people are attempting to have Anchor Babies instead of coming over here legally? I didn't hear much emphasis on that at all for this whole video. How about people stop having anchor babies and they won't get shackled. They shackle prisoners/inmates who can't possibly run as well, why is this such a big deal now? If her family wanted to be there, then go have the baby here LEGALLY.

Ok, their arms shouldn't be shackled. Their legs are not shackled together. One ankle is shackled to the bed, to prevent escape. Why? Because it's happened! You cannot leave a detainee alone in an unsecure area, ESPECIALLY with their husband. If their husband hit them they could sue the state for millions and you people would be bashing the officers for not being there to protect her. Ten states now have anti-shackling legislation: California, Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, New York, Texas, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia — and, Pennsylvania. In the case of my state Washington it took a $125,000 court settlement for them to see the light. There are so many horror stories that I would recommend an online search for the stories of individual women.

This is one of the cases that they use the law improperly. Laws are meant to deter criminals from becoming repeat offenders, they are NOT designed to deter other people from doing crimes. Sure, they work that way in effect, but this is solely designed to set an example to immigrants, which is why it's so perverse.
