  • nice performance in comparison with the weight & ur bw....do not listen to these guys

    WELL DONE....

  • @EhabKhattab100 Thanks for the positive feedback! And ya I try not to let it get to me!

  • Define moderate.

  • @ajlaxmn Its basically not a ton but not a little. I could have cheated more and could have cheated less. I have other more recent vids of me curling heavy weight same form or better and much more cheating more.

  • lols man dont brake your back bro... you only have one body and that shit is not as easy as fixing a car bro..

  • @bganightfire I appreciate your concern. But hoestly I have been doing this kinda stuff fo years and not found it any more risky for injury then many other excersises... I have found my training to work well for me and my goals in power and strength which it has helped me achieve American/World records in competition. I try not to go as crazy as I did all the time now but the risk wll always be part of almost anything you do.

  • Your going to injury your lower back, not to mention thats not mederate cheating. your cheating alot! , use good form , it'll be my beneficial

  • @Success595 In alll honesty, I have injured my lower back worse deadlifting then I ever have doing something like this. Most likey because the weight here is not as heavy on the back as deadlifts strain wise. Not to say they are bad to do in anyway but basically almost everything has a risk in it. And I can say I have actually found methods like this to be beneficial to me by helping me achive American/World records in curls in competition which is judged nd I have more recent vids up of that.

  • 1. Why would you do this

    2. Why would you upload this on YouTube?

  • @StephenAnthonyMusic 1. Because it helps me gain strength by allowing my body to et used to heavier weights which has helped increase my curl in competition. It has also helped me to set American/World records in my division, which I have vids of.

    2. Because its something I enjoy and it shows part of my training. (keep in mind also this video is about 3 years plus old).

  • even with the cheating, at his weight that's an impressive curling weight, stop being asshats

  • @V4L3R102 no it's not lol

  • @macatk25 This is actually quite a bit harder then it looks. If you don't buy it put 40 lbs ovr your bodyweight on the bar and go for it. I actually just grinded out 300 ls forr a cheat rep on straight bar recently at a bdw of near 180. It was not pretty but I got it and thats around 120 lbs more then my weight. Also keep in mind this video is a bit over 3 years old..

  • the entire gym... it's way too... yellow

  • @ThePaulWog haha ya well I guess thats the way Gold's Gym is. This isn't even the gym I go to just had a pass there.

  • That's great kid, now go eat something ......

  • @LRGHMN I have been actually and Im nearing 180 now.

  • What's the point of doing that!?

  • @pistoff33 To get the body used to heavier weights and to ncrease strength. That is the main goal here over size or isolating biceps.

  • @powabuilda That's when you do negatives not so much weight your back practically takes your biceps out of the equation

  • @panathinakosbear I just said though that my goal is not mainly to focus on biceps but strength. And if you look at my newer videos you can see I recently curled 215 at 170 in competition for the best coefficientcurl of al tm inmy federation. And in cmpetition the form is judged and stricter then this, so I know what Ive been doing has helped me.

  • @gtslmfao Gold's Gym.

  • @gtslmfao Ya I believe so. I don't actually even go to this gym I just had a pass for there. I also don't know if he still goes there though..

  • you call that shit moderate?

  • @sexysexballs Yep, becuse I could have cheated more and could have cheated less so for me it wasmoderate cheat not extreme but not slight. I have done 275 fr 3 ona staight bar with straps using more leg drive ad prettymuch extreme cheating.

  • When I do bicepcurls, I lean my body slightly forward to get as much pressure on the bicep as I can. and I use like 5 sec to bring it back slowly. and thats with 170 pounds.

What i dont understand how you can justify youre technique when you body is shaking like a leaf just taking the bar off >< thats what my body does when i lift 600pounds in the deadlift xD

  • @Rhulken Ok, let me state some things about this video:

    1. This video is very old almost 3 years. I can now do around 250 lbs like this and have a vid doing like 245 on an ez bar like this a little over a year ago. I can also do this weight much stricter now

    2. I also have a vid of me doing 170 for 2 easily pretty welll strictly for a warm up.

    3. I have deadlifted 550 and am probably capable of more currently. also have vids of near that in meets.

    4. I do this for overload and strength.

  • good, now do some squats

  • @MetaIhead89 I do my fair share of squats and plenty of deadlifts believe me!

  • I thought the bar in the video was 35lbs?

  • @caustin89 Nah it felt more ike20-25 lbs...

  • why only one rep? Good Form for overload

  • @AnotherOneInTheBay I was doing singles here because I was using it as training for curls in meets. So I was getting used to singles on this lift. But yes, I was trying to overload mybodyand get it used to heavier weights that I hope to curl in competition form which I worked up close to this in a meet about 2 years later actually. And a videos posted of it..

  • @powabuilda

    Nice Work

  • Don't Break Your Back Now.

  • @GameBattlesify Don't worry last time checked it wasn't doing too bad..

  • I Wanna see how much you curl back against the wall elbows locked to you side.

  • @azfryguy well, I can do around my bodyweight like that but I rarely curl THAT strictly cuz its not required in meets I compete in and its unatural.

  • that takes some strength.

  • moderate?????????????? hahahaha i saw ur comment above saying you could have cheated more? HOW? you swung the weight backwards as hard as you could and lifted it with your back hips and shoulders L O L

  • @xenion35 Well if you want to see moe cheating look at my newer 225 fr 10 reps on a straight bar vid were I use more leg drive. Basicall here, I am not really using my legs which makes it harder. This video is also very old I have anewer one hitting about 245 lbs with form similar to this at close to the same bodyweight..

  • @powabuilda saw the video your talking about ie: the 245 lb curl....just one problem, that wasnt the same person in this video. nice try either way, if this vid is a legit 205, good job, that is a lot of weight for anyone to curl, cant really cheat at curling folks, either it goes up, or not...

  • @seetroo If the video was on my channel then it was me. It was made almost 2 years after this and I changed some.. I don't see why you would think that..

  • @powabuilda did you grow 30 years older between the two videos?

  • @seetroo No but I guess its filmed at a different angle,Im wearing a tank top, also gained muscle. My hair is also a bit different but doubt that makes much difference everyone else seems to recongnize me fine...

  • For all you haters, YES this is "moderate" cheating... he just has an extremely liberal scale.

  • moderate?

  • @honkieconvention Yep, could have cheated more, and could have cheated less... right in the middle for me.

  • Moderate cheating? LOL.

  • @MultiManriquez Yep, cheating harder Ive done up to 275 on a straight barfor 3 which was after this vid though.. And I could have cheated less therefore makin this moderate for me. I have newer vids of m curling even moe then this stricter. This is also over 2 years old..

  • i thoguht he said "moderate" not total

  • @BIgBlackJack18 I have other vids of me cheating more in my opinion suc as 225 for 10 reps.. So here, I could have cheated more, but could have been less making it moderate. Its alsoa VERY OLD video over 3 years. I have a 8 orso month old one now doing around 245 in about this form..

  • black n yellow black n yellow black n yellow black n yellow

  • I read the description before the video...Terrible all around, I doubt you can actually do 275 if that's how you have to SWING up 205..Drop the weight fix your shit and get better at it.

  • @DrunkHazzord I have done 275 for 3 before. And have a newer vid up of 225 for 10. I just use more leg drive and hip as well as straps. Regardless still VERY difficult especially at my bodyweight.. I also have newer vids of better form then this even with 210 and 225.And a 245 similar to this on an ez bar as well as 200 stricter then this fo reps.. Not to mention curl vids in competition of World records Ive set in the NASA powerlifting fed.. This training here and there works for me.

  • That's a LOT of swinging...

I think you should swing less and curl strict more. You are strong, no doubt.

  • @AndyHarglesis My 190 curl vid isnearstrict and my 170 for 2 warmup I felt was strito ifyo hve seen tsevids.. I can get near 200 pretty decen form now. I also recently messed around after my heavy curl sets and did 170 back to a wall. But my cheat sets is what help my strict ones increase by getting the feel of the weight. Also cheat curls use more of the body and are a more productive lift almost like any other compound lift for strength opposed to strict curls.

  • @powabuilda Nope...

You don't know what strict form is, it seems...

  • @AndyHarglesis I FOR SURE DO KNOW FYI!!! If you look at my 135 OZZ FORM curl for fun strict that is ULTRA strict. And that wa after a workout and EASY!!!

  • Most of u kids on youtube cant even curl 100 lbs. U wanna know how i know? Because ur wasting ur time hating on this guy when he's doing something with his life (Excercising) and u guys r at home hating on him and only nerds do that just lyk all those fags that hate on justin bieber on every music video.

  • instead of injuring urself, why not concentrate on a proper strength lift like deadlift or even a compound row exercise.....idiot

  • @ClintsFitness Ok first off you obviously have NOT seen my newer vids.. I have plenty of vids of me deadlifting and even benching in powerlifting meets. I have done 545 in the gym and a vid of 535 easy in a meet in the 165s weight class in highschool. So plase DONT MAKE JUDGMENTS WHEN YOU HAVE NOT DONE THE RESEARCH.... And curls is actually part of my total in the powersports division, curl, bench, and deadlift for total.. And there is no rule that says a curl cant be trained for strength too!

  • moderate cheating?

  • @thist07 Yep because I could have cheated consideraly worse and form could been better. And just FYI this vid is over 2 years old. I have more recent vids although not extrememely recent of me curling even more weight with less cheating then this...

  • hey isn`t this the same gym as username: Bskola?

  • @HillLecter Yes its the one he had filmed in. I never saw him while I was there..lol

  • Hey powabuilda I know you got a few videos of you doing curls in competition. Would ya take a look at my 205 x 2 video and see if you think those would pass in competition?

  • one more thing lol : were u on steroids when u done this video ? but what about now ... i mean u bench press a lot ...u on steroid now ? please tell me your age, weight and height ... thanks :P

  • @fromRomaniaWithLove1 No I have never taken steroids..lol Just a few pre workout and natural supplement with some protein powder and weight gainers.

  • @powabuilda Don't lie.

  • @AndyHarglesis I have no reason to lie. But I guess I will take that as a compliment being accused of steroids.

  • well u cheated when u lift but u did a great job on the negative form lol .... how much can u bench press ( 3-4 reps) ?

  • @fromRomaniaWithLove1 Thanks. But this video is actually over 3 years old. I have a more updated one of me doing a 245 with similar form to this at close to the same bodyweight. And bench right now Im not exactly sure maybe 300-315 for that rep range..

  • Good job, but don't bullshit me, that's not moderate cheating...

  • @MariusGuitar2007 I understand it might have looked like alot but for me believe me I could have cheated considerably more. I have videos now of me doing 245 on a ez bar similar to this but a bit more cheating, and 225 on a straight bar for 10 cheating conisderably more using my legs especially towards the end. That is what made it a MODERATE form for me..

  • @powabuilda 275 cheat curl at 166... jesus, why don't you get into olympic lifting. You could quite surely clean 2xBW with some training!

  • @OMFGO Well Ya I think Im closer to 300 now as I have done 275 for 3 in the past. I also can hang clean more then I cheat curl I almost did 315 when I was only 16. I am starting to work on oly typ lifts more but not sure about getting into it competitvely yet,

  • @powabuilda Well good job anyway. Don't worry about the retards here babbling about form and how you shouldn't do it or whatever. Most of them wouldn't be able to get 200 pounds to their shoulders no matter what they did.

Try some heavy continental cleans, I think you would maybe be able to use more weight at those than when doing conventional cleans.

  • good god moderate? that was pretty bad cheating but i still gotta give it to ya....good job

  • @pewtersskillinz06 Well thanks. But the reason I put moderate is because it could have been better and could have been worse. I have a newer vid of me cheat curling 225 for 10 on a straight bar with more cheating towards the end then this..

  • anybody that posts a youtube video no matter how much they're cheating, is just because THEY WANT TO SHOW OFF, by donig heavy weights and saying "cheating"

nobody gives a shit how much u can do cheating.

but people give a shit when you do strict 200lb curl, thats where respect comes from.

and i know i dont curl as much as you, i cant curl my body weight rofl

  • @AndyAngelZ Well, this is a very old video. I have newer and stricter vids now. I have a 190 semi strict, 170 for 2 warmup strict, and competition curl vids.

  • @kelvindules Yep, could have been worse and could have been better. I have a 245 vid of me cheating similar maybe a bit more then this now. And a 225 for 10 on a straight bar cheat. And a 190 near strict, 170 for 2 warmup strict... I also have a 200 for 3 vid now stricter then this. This was like 2 years ago..lo,

  • y would u wanna overload ur biceps so hard...

theyre not a power muscle, if ur gonna go crazy heavy,

overload the lats to use biceps as secondary muscles..

  • @492333 I do also overload my back as I compete in powerlifting meets so my deadlift is essential. But I also compete in curls at my meets which is why I train them for power. I basically train everything for power..

  • im 13 202lbs of muscle at 6'4" no drugs and i can curl 158 with perfect form on the straight bar with nos winging. :)

  • @13andincrediblycut Great lets see it!!!!

  • @13andincrediblycut you got a video?

  • Dude locking your knees is a REALLY bad thing to do

  • @EdwardianGangster Ya, if you leave them like that for a LONG time!

  • @EdwardianGangster only if you keep them looked for long workout sessions that are done for hours every week

  • damn nice gym

  • @deathpooper thanks..haha its actually not even my gym..lol I had a pass there for a while but I wish it was!

  • @fogonabomba2 I have newer vids of me now curling even more weight with stricter form.

  • wasn't rly a moderate amount now was it :)

  • @Jerrevdd1989 Well, in my mind it was. Because it could have been less and it could have definately been worse. Using worse chating and leg drive I have done 225 for 10 as you can see on my newer vids. This is also a really old vid I can do 245 about like this now I have a newer vid of it. And this weight much stricter. So ya, It was moderate cheat form for me. Wasn't some cheating and wasn't a ton.

  • @Jerrevdd1989 come the guy weighs 165 lbs. and is born in 1991 or 1990 that is excellent for his weight and age probably the best

  • @Nitrotech23 Well I know what you mean. But there is gonna be a risk in almost any excersises. For example just as much or even more u can easily tear or strain your pec benching. But its just a risk u have to take. And again, getting bigger biceps isn't necessarily my goal anyway like I said I am a powerlifter right now and not a bodybuilder. If you watched my newer vids you'd see that. Basically its a risk Im willing to take. And so far after 3 years of this training Ive been fine.

  • Hey be careful brotha! Training biceps with such heavy weight is not a smart idea. I recently tore my right bicep doing 110lb strait bar preacher curls. The bicep is a small muscle it does not need to be strained with so much weight. Its an accident waiting to happen. However I do 135lb barbell curls for around 6 reps but its just not worth it...focus on the muscle not about how much you lift. When you tear a bicep its not fun.

  • @Nitrotech23 I apreciate our concern. But I am a powerlifter myself and for me it is about the weight. I compete in something called powersports with the NASA powerlifting fed in which I m required to do curl, bench, and deadlift for total. In curl being one of the lifts I train appropriately for that. U can see some of my other and newer vids I have set world records in that lift as well as the deadlift for my division and weight class. This vid is also almost 2 years old Im much stronger now.

  • I'm 17 too... and I know enough not to max on curls or think that a curl matters for anything.. Let me know when you post a squat video maybe you can squat what you "curl". Btw even if you are a bicep whore maxing on curls is retarded, unless of course you're in a curling competition.

  • @Liftheavy715 First off, you should watch my other videos before you make statements like that. I have curled a world record in the NASA powerlifting fed of 193 for highshcool and mens open at 162 bdw. I also have deadlifted a world record of 535 at 162 as well.. I also have another vid of me squatting 455 a bit above parallel. This is also a very old vid..

  • I love how people talk about cheating like they know something.

  • Cheat curling is to build extra mass. Notice how he overloads his biceps at just below 90 degree position.

This promotes extra growth and acquaints the muscle to heavier weights.

    1. Try it after a set of strict curls. When you can't lift any more, add more weight and cheat

    2. Feel the enormous pump

    3. ???

    4. Profit!

But strict curl has to be learned first of course.

  • Hey, the weight is some kind of impressive. But I checked your other and newer Vids like you said it as a response in on of these comments.

Do you allways "swing"? Seems kind of. What's the weight you do it without it? But besides that, you seem in a very good shape, so keep on training (maybe without swinging) ;-)

  • @derHolger25 well thanks for your reply. I actually cheat for a reason. Main ly to get used to heavier weights which helps increase my curl in competition. I train mostly for strength and not size so my training is more specific for me. If you also see my newer videos you will see many of my World records in curls and deadlift in the NASA powerlifting fed. So it works well for me.

  • Wow nice, whats more impressive is that you havnt blown your back yet

  • @DMxNemesis well Ive been doing them for years and they haven't really caused a problem. This vid is also over a year and a half old. I have newer vids of me curling more weight and with better form.

  • its a lot of weight for you only weighing 166..not trying to hate but you have to admit that was a gratuitous amount of swaying

  • @SatanTrain Ya, I know but it could be a good deal worse which is why I said it was moderate....

  • man these guys just jealous you can curls their mom. Keep it up man

  • @chunkypooh12 haha true thanks!

  • why is everyone so focused on thinking biceps and chesticles are the strongman exercises...deadlift me 300lbs at your weight and then we're talking, my buddy is 150 and can easily deadlift 280lbs

  • @Alfonso732 Well Buddy, I can deadlift arond 550. I have a vid of me pulling 535 for a NASA American record in highschool at 162 at my last meet this last december... This particaular video is actually over a year and a half old now.

  • good stuff man.. i weigh 145 and could do 190.. keep it up man, impressive shit

  • @chunkypooh12 Thanks man! Thats also very impessive keep it up as well!

  • What is the benefit of this

  • @MegaJAYBAYBAY The benifit is gains in strength and American/World records in NASA powerlifting fed for powersports curls for mens open and highschool!

  • @powabuilda Sorry man I didn't no they compete with the curl, I thought it was only bench squat and dead lift.

  • @MegaJAYBAYBAY Well, I do something called powersports, which is curl, bench and deadlift for total. I have achived American/world records in the curl, deadlift and total. NASA also has powerlifting divisions as well with squat bench and deadlifts. I still squat heavy though, just not in meets.

  • poor form, but ill give ya props...

  • @Jardine83 Thanks. I know it was not the best form which is why I had the word "cheating" in the title. I said moderate because it could have been better and definately could have been worse. Watch my new 225 for 10 cheat curl vid and you'll see what I mean...

  • yeah zooyork9999 alot of cheating, this guy weighs 165 and the form was decent, hopw about you consider his raw strength into the equation and i would call this , in my expert opinion, cheating not alot of cheating and absolutely 100% good form on the negative once again this video impresses

  • that gym looks like construction machinery

  • pretty sick that you can do that i mean idk if it benefits you much but still cool i mean i doubt i could do 205 with that form nor would i try cause im clumsy but lol nice work man

  • @IAmJohnzor Thanks man! It definately is difficult! Check out some of my newer vids. I have one of me doinf 210 in stricter form then this....

  • pretty sick that you can do that i mean idk if it benefits you much but still cool i mean i doubt i could do 205 with that form nor would i try cause im clumsy but lol nice work man

  • @IAmJohnzor Thanks! Yes it actually does benefit me it help me achieve World records in the NASA powerlifting fed for powersports curls!

  • you have power we all know that

but why almost all of your videos include cheating?

i will be very happy if you post a video with great form and lower weights

  • im 17 and i can swing alot of weight up too

  • @FenderTelecast Sweet congrats lets see it!

  • hows ure back feeling right now?

  • @angstallo Fine thanks!

  • just for you peeps hatin on this guy cuz his "form is bad", or "if you were on a sports team then...". just shut the hell up i would like to see you curl 205 even with bad form

  • just for you peeps hatin on this guy cuz his "form is bad", or "if you were on a sports team then...". just shut the hell up i would like to see you curl 205 even with bad form

  • i see yellow

  • nice username

  • @ShookOne92 Thank you!

  • Pretty sweet, but I'd suggest you should rename it to "205 negative curls" since that looks like the part that actually took energy. Negatives are a decent way of building up towards the whole movement however. 205, great job!

  • @Oraagarrat Thanks. I did try to resist the negative on the way back cuz I feel it also allows me to get the feel for heavier weight. But if a pure negative curl would just be like starting from the top instead of cheat curling it up first....

  • You are one strong skinny dude. Get some more calories in you!

  • @swettybettybob lol well I do try to eat alot I just have a fast metabolism so its hard for me but Im getting there!

  • good lift but change the title from "with some cheating" to "with alot of cheating"

  • @zooyork9999 Well Id say its actually more medium cheating. Cuz I can cheat alot worse, but then again it wasn't strict either..lol

  • yeah true lol but who cares 205 is a shit load of weight to curl..so good job man

  • who cares about curls anyways. single joint waste of time.

  • @foliodz It aint single joint if its a cheat curl....

  • man its not about lifting it one time. u gotta do lots of reps with small amounts of weight thats where its at man. do ur homework

  • @GrantSnyder14 If you are looking for strength, heavy overload sets of low reps 1-5 is the way to go most of the time. Lots of reps is more for toning and endurance, which is NOT my main goal.

  • Who cares though? Its just bi ceps, its a beach muscle.

  • @Flawless0straint Believe it or not, biceps are actually used way more then you'd think. Heck, every time you bend your arms they are involved.. Bicep developement is also very important muscle in dealdlifting so you don't tear it which is a common thing with heavy pulls...

  • I know each muscle has its importance. But the power of the lift means nothing. Pulls ups, chin ups, rows, t bar rows.... the list goes on all things that train your bis fine.

  • @Flawless0straint Yes and I do all those lifts as well and am pretty strong on them. Cheat curls have helped, discus throwers, strongmen and other athletes and have more us then you'd think..

  • Alright nvm mind I take back my last comment I just checked your page.

    Good work.

  • Thanks. Yes, the fact is normally that if you are a strong rower, you will be a strong curler...

  • To bad its not even 205. An easy curl bar weighs approximately 18 lbs, 20 lbs if you are lucky.

  • @werm2008 Well that was my best estimate of the bar weight cuz it felt a bit heaver then other ones I had used. But It could have been more around 200 but its not much of a difference either way....

  • @werm2008, so how much is the weight he's curling here??

  • This is a bulkier version than the ones you usually see. He competes, he might just know what weight he uses.

  • Was that an easy curl bar? I'm 17 and curl 180 with a regular bar..

    Lookin' good though.

  • @justingarotte219 Thanks. Ya, it was an ez bar... And 180 is pretty good! Whats your bodyweight?

  • I'm at 200 right now...But when I started working out I weighed 280, and couldn't even bench 180 haha, but now I'm curling that shit and my max bench is 300. You're a beast for weighing only 166 dude, keep it up.

  • @justingarotte219 Thanks! And thats pretty good man you keep it up as well you should put up some vids of that stuff if possible!

  • you really consider this "some" cheating?

  • Well I don't consider this extreme cheating as in I can do close to 300 like that now. But Id say this is more medium cheating. This vid is also ovr a year old and I can do 240 like this now and this same weight much stricter.

  • @madmattdisease92

I'll tell you what is even more embarrassing: the fact that you can't spell at even a kindergarten level. Are you by any chance mentally retarded or did you never attend elementary school? Oh well, I guess the world needs fast food wrokers as well as quantum physicists.

  • Dude! You're an inspiration. How long have you been a NASA astronaut? Your lifts are out-of-this-world. You got me thinking about training for the strict curl competition in NASA (Natural Athletes Strength Association). I'm about to turn 50 in 2 months and would be able to compete in the 50-59 Masters age group in the 148 lb division. I'm good at curling, but can't deadlift or bench press at all. Does NASA let you compete in just the strict curl competition (no deadlift, no bench press)?

  • @MIKI2006MIKI LOL I am not an astronaut.. haha but yes, in NASA you can compete in curl only in the powersports division. Thats actually what I did for my very first meet...

  • You're doing great dude! Keep doing the cheat curls. I don't lift as much weight as you do but I do know that cheat curls let you get past the "sticking point" and are the trick to shocking your muscles to become stronger. Don't listen to all those haters out there; they don't know what they are talking about. Most people that stress perfect form can't lift much weight at all.
