wow, i remember watching this show back then. too bad they canelled it, it was a pretty good show. i wished Bakshi had another chance to continue this show.
Yeah, well, too bad. This is just another one of those shows that had a good running, good plot, but one those fuckers from respective corporations, companies, and joint operating Television companies and shit like Turner Broadcasting (WHATEVER I don't know) had casually and stoically decided to have ripped off the air, totally incomplete.
The series had successful ratings for its one season. The show was canceled because Bakshi refused to allow studio writers to replace his own personal staff. It was indeed the "corporate boogeyman."
Funny thing is, that excuse isn't there anymore. Now anyone can start a show online and keep going. The only reason why the corporation ruins things is because they are taking all the risk. Now the artist can take all the risk, which means the artist has control over the show. Yes there is more of a chance at failing on your owns but who needs the big bucks anyways. Answer: greedy people XD
@1aundulxaldin Actually, HBO hired Bakshi and his team to create a series (Spicy City). After a succesful beginning, in a fit of corporate stupidity, they insisted that Bakshi replace his team with one from HBO. He told them no.
Okay, Ottselguy. I'll believe that seedy speak easys are a haven for strange stories. And I might believe the twins musta moved on. But I don't think I'll Believe that Raven started her own club by whoring herself out. She doesn't look like the kind of girl who would sell her body to some strange guy. Now if she was stripping I'd believe that. Whoring, no.
@OmegaX2000 Judging by this episode (the only "Spicy City" episode I've seen so far) I would have to agree on this. Raven is a tease, certainly. But she seems far to dignified to actually sell herself.
I think he got them off of the Bakshi website. I hope this gets to DVD. Does HBO still own the rights to this?? im asking becuz im making a petition to bring this to DVD

Shows get cancelled due to poor ratings, not the corporate boogeyman plotting against us.

I imagine those questions would have been answered had the show been renewed for another season.

If this explains Raven's story, then I have 3 questions.
1. After all that, when and how did she start her own club?
2. How did she know all those other stories she told us? or in her club do rumors spread from the grapevine there?
And 3. I know the twins survived, so what happened to them?
