In 1976 I bought a 50,000 mile '71 bird. Took it on vacation on a road trip. What a cruiser that thing was. Then I surprised a friend of mine who had a 383 Road Runner, I challenged him to a race and beat him. He couldn't believe it. My car was obviously heavier but had a bigger engine and more hp. I figured it would be close and it was. I had a friend who had one and installed a cam, headers, aluminum intake and that must have given him another 30 hp at least- what a sleeper.
GORGEOUS 'Bird. My mother had, if memory serves me, a dark cherry colored Thunderbird 4 door with 'suicide doors'. The good ole days! Nifty video, BTW. Thanks for posting!
Hahaha ! ... Cool video, great music (Green Onions and Rock 'n Roll part 2) and a mean lookin' machine ! ... And Pop sure knows how to drive that Bird ! ...
wow, nice ride,,, im 30, and ive been a Car Nut my whole life, know WAY to many stats on cars and their engines, just like most car guys,, but ill tell you, i was just watching my classic car, and there was a 71 bird on there, and i can HONESTLY say, ive NEVER seen a 71 bird before,,, its easy to pick out from the side or rear, but from the front, i honestly didnt know what kind of car it was... dont see many of these
NICE! The 71 front & rear styling was real sharp. Lots of power & torque & comfort. Very well built too. The only thing I don"t really care for is the white seats.
in the owners manual they tell you not to spin the tires.!! I grew up with one....at my foster home...it was a tank. and that is not its speedometer either...I think the next bird should be built like the jaguar xk8.

Dig that vintage 8-track tape deck. A true remnant of the seventies. The car is truly cool.

Great vid! Fun and there looks like some Blue's Brother's in this.
But what a beautiful T-Bird. esp during the cross-over period from being a sport/luxury to becoming a pseudo-Mark III/IV.

Such a cool-looking car. Back in the 70`s and 80`s American cars were much more interesting styling-wise.
