Ain't Got No Money is a song written by great Scotch Singer Frankie Miller and released on his own album The Rock in 1975. Bob Seger released The Fire Down Below a year later. Seger's cover of Ain't Got No Money was released in 1978...that are the true`s
if frankie could translate awe his american songs inti lowland scottish. there wid niffir be a hair difference. fae the way they sing down south. ry knows that
I was a dj in Detroit when the Frankie Miller album came out, my name is Dan Carlisle, Bob heard us playing the shit out of the song, ain't got no money.Bob asked about the song and then down the line he recorded it. Now, Bob Seger had his own style years before he ever heard a Frankie Miller record. It is believed, that seger recorded ..ain't got no money....so miller would profit since he got nothing for fire down below. Seger is a stand up guy, enjoy his music and Frankie millers music.
If you look on sleeve of Bob Segers LPs you will see he states one of his influences was Frankie. We are privileged to have the man in our lives - OMG if only I had paid even more attention when I saw him all those moons ago....
Nice one man, I gotta thank you for your contribution to Frankie's music, one of the best on youtube without a doubt.
please view, enjoy and comment on my two latest additions, "The Rose" and Baton Rouge", both from the "Long way Home " album...... spread the word... cheers

It's too bad Frankie and Willie Deville never really got the
cred they deserved. I can't believe that neither one was listed
in the top 100 singers of all time edition of Rolling Stone
that came out a few years ago., Nor was Seger for that
matter.

Yeah, he admits he ripped him off. Frankie is one of these guys that didn't get the rewards his talent deserved.
