  • Being a Brit and a Republican I want this for the National Anthem.

  • Great memories here, this was my training base as a young marine in 1973 where have all the years gone - Thanks for posting!

  • the drum major calling thunderbrids are go was my grand dad passed away at the start of the year

  • @charliebigcmiller I am so sorry to hear of this, friend - your grandfather was certainly very good at what he did, and he did it well. May he rest in peace.

  • Now ! This is part of what made Britain Great ( Great Britain ) Now what have we got ! Not a lot. So I thank you kindly for sharing and bringing back some fab memories of one of the best military bands in the world.

  • Aww..my dear Dad is in this!! Makes me cry just like the scene in `Oliver` where the band marches through the street. He plays the bass drum!! Spent many happy days as a child in Deal Barracks when they practised:))))

  • if i knew they got to do that i would have joined the marines not the army

  • it look like HM RM Deal...it would be nice to see if it was done there?

  • Love that final caption: since they do not yet exist!

  • The funny thing is i bet this only took one shot, since they would have practiced non stop at their base.

  • これは...www

    ここまで完璧でオチがちゃんとついてる演奏は見たことないです。

  • You just can't beat the Royal Marines Band.

Fantastic Music mixed with Military Discapline

  • Met Gerry, he was such a nice man. He even bothered to send a personal letter to me with lots of signed pictures.

  • NI! NI!

  • my cousins great grandad made the theme of thunderbirds...

  • @epicextremeskater then your family are true hero's to the world my freind :)

  • The writing at the bottom at 1:31 makes me laugh. XD

  • Most epic ending ever

  • too good to be true :)

this made my day. even though it's new year in a couple of hours :p

  • RM Band are brilliant. They came with us when we were deployed away for long periods, after a good few weeks at sea, they came on board and did a small gig on the flight deck. First part was what you'd expect from them and then, after a break, 4 of them put on scruffier gear, bandanas etc and played all sorts of pop/rock/metal! I even got a mosh going and punched the Suppply Officer, which I got away with!

  • EMPIRE. AS. FUCK.

  • How come the pitch is different? This is like the original quality which i love the sound on it. I'm also curious as to where you got it from.

  • @florgeysteve - 24 Vs 25 frames per second makes about a semitone difference in pitch.

  • @theposhbloke, yes it sure was , lived not far from the barracks, i still only live 5 miles away even now, but the barracks is now a housing estate, some of the original buildings have survived.

  • @policest1100 thanks, thought so and I found some old pics online too that show the buildings. Went there twice as a cadet in the 80s. Tragic that they closed it.

  • my grandfather in this he is the trombone player at 0:56

  • It must have rained before they filmed the last shot on the crane.

  • sgtmcact take note- -I heard when Tony Blair became prime minister he had this played as he assumed office. Funny,he was a labor [liberal] party guy-well I guess he could still dream about greatness....

  • Thunderbirds, they do not yet exist YET. Hopefully, someday someone will make a live action, gritty and exciting Thunderbirds movie unlike the last pathetic attempt which was just awfull.

  • @19630541.....Please do not RUIN my beautiful moments from the 60's. YES, THEY DO EXIST IN HEART AND NOBODY IS GOING TO STEAL IT. I THINK YOU NEED TO RE-CHECK YOUR BRAIN AND BE MORE POLITE TO OTHERS THAT ENJOYED THIS T.V. SHOW. SO I HOPE I DON'T RUN INTO YOU AGAIN. I WANT TO THANK soopadoubled FOR THIS WONDERFUL VIDEO. YOU ARE #1 2 ME!

  • @mayangod1isback i was talking about the MOVIE (2004) not the TV series.

  • @19630541. Ohhhh, you should had mentioned it earlier. Peace and Love!

  • @mayangod1isback Im with you all the way

Lets take a trip to Tracey Island

  • @nylonTS .I am glad somebody heard my S.O.S. message. Thanks NylonTS, I am glad you showed up to backed me up. Like I was saying before, this t.v. show was excellent back in the 60's. Nice to meet you..by the way, I tried to leave you a message but your channel is closed? let me know when I can.....Tracey Island will be like going to Disneyland for us, hahahaha, hey you never know maybe somebody has an island like that out there in the middle of the sea.....!

  • EPIC!!!!

  • And to think that place is a scummy housing estate now.

  • @ST11002006 where is this? Deal?

  • If I was prime minister I would make this the national anthem!!!

  • Royal Marines really do play good music.

  • BECAUSE THEY DO NOT EXIST YET! Yet being the key word there.

  • We used to request this al the time for Divisions at Dartmouth. Well, either this or The Great Escape! The Band would line up just in front of us before marching on, always loved it with live music.

  • Funny, my father likt Thunderbirds and was in the Royal Marines in the falklands war

  • My division used to regularly march off the parade ground to this at HMS Mercury in 1967. Any other Jenny Wrens out there remember that?

  • I'm in the RM Band, we still do this piece quite regularly, the public love it :)

  • I remember seeing this at the Crossbay Movie Theater in Queens NY when I was a kid in 1965. GREAT STUFF-thanks for posting it.

  • 1:19 - 1:20 sounds like an electric guitar

  • great!!!

  • good stuff

  • love it haha trust the british let a lone the royal marines to play such music

  • I'm hoping to join the band service soon. Had no idea they'd recorded this masterpiece, only makes me want to join more!!!!

  • This makes me cry, my old dad, back right clarinet. He is no longer here, he died back in 2004... at least I have this of him x

  • aaah man, sad to hear that :( he helped make this an awesome version though, makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand to attention every time :)

  • @kelbag07 That's something to be proud of kelbag07. Not just being in the Thunderbirds movie of course, but being a fine musician in HM Royal Marines is a great achievement in itself! ;-)

  • @kelbag07 I thoroughly enjoyed this Royal Marine closing credit when I saw it for the first time when I was in grade school. I absolutely enjoyed it again when I recently purchased a DVD of Thunderbird "Zero-X." Big thanks to your late father! He is watching you and all of the fans of Thurderbird from heaven!

  • @kelbag07 in 2004? thats when the live action thunderbirds film came out.

  • i sooooo want the sheet music for this XD

just all the music you buy is completely diff :/

do you think that the music that they used would still be available?

  • The most modern live version I've seen was shot with a mobile phone I think so... should be available "fairly" easy.

  • yea, alot of military bands still play it, so its about some where just keep looking

  • I didn't know "Thunderbirds are GO!" is a drill command? Perhaps I should try it when I go to the cadets next time =D

  • i think he was saying the name of the music rather then a command wasnt he?

  • One band major saying this is a bit scary... Imagine if all the RM band majors said this at once? POssibly the most terryyfing thing ever

  • my grandad is in tht!

    lol

    wow

he is the front or back tuba player at 1:05

  • Respect! I'm lovin' this and feeling about 10years old again, so thanks.

  • I know what you mean. I use to love watching this as a kid. Thanks to jeary4 for the heads up..

  • well done him :D

  • @mullanmanatc then he was a living legend my friend :-)
