@charliebigcmiller I am so sorry to hear of this, friend - your grandfather was certainly very good at what he did, and he did it well. May he rest in peace.
Now ! This is part of what made Britain Great ( Great Britain ) Now what have we got ! Not a lot. So I thank you kindly for sharing and bringing back some fab memories of one of the best military bands in the world.
Aww..my dear Dad is in this!! Makes me cry just like the scene in `Oliver` where the band marches through the street. He plays the bass drum!! Spent many happy days as a child in Deal Barracks when they practised:))))
RM Band are brilliant. They came with us when we were deployed away for long periods, after a good few weeks at sea, they came on board and did a small gig on the flight deck. First part was what you'd expect from them and then, after a break, 4 of them put on scruffier gear, bandanas etc and played all sorts of pop/rock/metal! I even got a mosh going and punched the Suppply Officer, which I got away with!
@theposhbloke, yes it sure was , lived not far from the barracks, i still only live 5 miles away even now, but the barracks is now a housing estate, some of the original buildings have survived.
@policest1100 thanks, thought so and I found some old pics online too that show the buildings. Went there twice as a cadet in the 80s. Tragic that they closed it.
sgtmcact take note- -I heard when Tony Blair became prime minister he had this played as he assumed office. Funny,he was a labor [liberal] party guy-well I guess he could still dream about greatness....
Thunderbirds, they do not yet exist YET. Hopefully, someday someone will make a live action, gritty and exciting Thunderbirds movie unlike the last pathetic attempt which was just awfull.
@19630541.....Please do not RUIN my beautiful moments from the 60's. YES, THEY DO EXIST IN HEART AND NOBODY IS GOING TO STEAL IT. I THINK YOU NEED TO RE-CHECK YOUR BRAIN AND BE MORE POLITE TO OTHERS THAT ENJOYED THIS T.V. SHOW. SO I HOPE I DON'T RUN INTO YOU AGAIN. I WANT TO THANK soopadoubled FOR THIS WONDERFUL VIDEO. YOU ARE #1 2 ME!
@nylonTS .I am glad somebody heard my S.O.S. message. Thanks NylonTS, I am glad you showed up to backed me up. Like I was saying before, this t.v. show was excellent back in the 60's. Nice to meet you..by the way, I tried to leave you a message but your channel is closed? let me know when I can.....Tracey Island will be like going to Disneyland for us, hahahaha, hey you never know maybe somebody has an island like that out there in the middle of the sea.....!
We used to request this al the time for Divisions at Dartmouth. Well, either this or The Great Escape! The Band would line up just in front of us before marching on, always loved it with live music.
@kelbag07 That's something to be proud of kelbag07. Not just being in the Thunderbirds movie of course, but being a fine musician in HM Royal Marines is a great achievement in itself! ;-)
@kelbag07 I thoroughly enjoyed this Royal Marine closing credit when I saw it for the first time when I was in grade school. I absolutely enjoyed it again when I recently purchased a DVD of Thunderbird "Zero-X." Big thanks to your late father! He is watching you and all of the fans of Thurderbird from heaven!

You guys can give me all the thumbs down ya want but the storyline and plot are just dull and corny. Especially the ending. SPOILER ALERT*I'd hate if all my brothers showed up on my date. Its time to grow up people, lol
Being a Brit and a Republican I want this for the National Anthem.

How come the pitch is different? This is like the original quality which i love the sound on it. I'm also curious as to where you got it from.
florgeysteve 1 year ago
@florgeysteve - 24 Vs 25 frames per second makes about a semitone difference in pitch.

do you think that the music that they used would still be available?

The most modern live version I've seen was shot with a mobile phone I think so... should be available "fairly" easy.
