The version I used in the video is pretty much extinct now. It's version 1.74. If you find this version, it will be the same as shown in the video

hey anyone that is having problems with dvd try downloading dvd43, its free and doesn't take up much space i use this all the time and it helps with some of them dvds that you just cant copy. it also works when you want to convert movies to play on

ipod. or whenever you just want to copy a dvd =)

While I commend your effort at showing us how to put the video file in psp, your method is way too complicated. It's like taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Guys use the free Format Factory, it will do the job in quite a simple way. Better buy a bigger memory size (just bought 8g for $20) than waste precious hours trying to get optimum video compression in a clunky way.

I have to point out that I don't mean to be disrespectful. It's just that your video is dated Oct 1, 06 - it's now June, 2009. Bigger size and cheaper mem sticks are on the market now. We also have the unbelievable Format Factory now that can rip, convert and do virtually everything with videos -- even edit or trim and merge flash videos.

That may well be. But it does involve more convoluted work and more softwares. With Format Factory all you have to is go to "DVD to video File", slect mp4 (you can tweak the audio/video bit rate settings - up to you), hit 'Start' and bingo - ripping and transcoding is done in one go.

There are others like MediaCoder and Super. If you go to "makeuseof" page and put "5 Easy-to-use Freeware Video Converters" in the search field, you will get good ones. I like Format Factory for its simplicity and for getting right down to it.

After you click on the tab ROM Device\DVD\CD\ISO then--> DVD to Video File, instead of MP4, did you select Mobile Device then the PSP version you have - mine happens to be the PSP 3000 - 480X272 AVC Wide Screen. You can also trim in this dialog box.

I was never able to get the DVD using Format Factory..but I still think Format Factory is great software. I've been using it a lot to convert files to MP4s, AVIs, and WMVs. Thanks for telling us about it. I think I'll use jonnyk429's way for DVDs. I have a 4 GB and a 16 GB memory stick, but still try to have the smallest possible file sizes without losing noticeable quality.

I agree - you might have more control if you go his way. But Format Factory can also do stuff like cut or merge all video types even incredibly-> *FLV* files (without conversion or experiencing data loss). Just go to 'All to FLV' and to merge go to 'Advanced' tab.

just take the psp file but instead of putting it in the psp put it in itunes!!! look for the weird name, change it to its real name!!!! then right click it and select convert to ipod or iphone!!! this will take almost an hour and then just pass it to the ipod
