  • this has to be my favourite jazz drum solo. art's technique is insane

  • This music would have more fans if it was two things. 1. More dancable. (see funk) and 2, Less snobby white faggots who claim jazz isn't just one style of music but the "only" music. Yeah, take that white people from Connecticuit.

  • @xenophidian Who gives @ shit if it is 'popular'? Expand your mind --please! it is art..expression..the musicians intent is not to build popularity or dance-ibility necessarily or appeal to snobby white people..or snobby black people..or snobby green people for that matter --they are expressing theircreativity..if you dig it --fine..if not..dry and blow away!

  • @xenophidian dude. the whole point of this sub genre of jazz (bebop) was to get away from the dance music of the big band era. the point was to break away from the popular music at the time so, if anything, becoming more popular would defeat the purpose of the invention of bebop and hard bop

  • THIS IS MUSIC,..NOT THAT LADY GAGA OR GOGOO

  • like

  • The Tenor player is genius!!

  • @131room John Gilmore, taking a rare break from his spot as the featured soloist in Sun Ra's Intergalactic Arkestra. Trane loved him, too.

  • Tenor is John Gilmore. Check out the other clips from this concert on my channel.

  • Is that John Hicks on piano? What a great video!

  • it's UNBELIEVABLE that these artists are not appreciated the way they should be in their own country--instead we have a culture that has the nerve to refer to lady gaga as a "musical artist"--oh well a nation's culture is a reflection of that nation

  • @mikie8865 they are a credit to the culture that produced them whether it's appreciated by the masses or not.

  • @mikie8865 they are a credit to the culture that produced them whether it's appreciated by the masses or not.

  • @mikie8865 why does it need to be a zero sum game? let it be (in this case, lady gaga and her fans), as Paul McCartney wisely wrote. Ah...the Internet...any excuse to argue as an anonymous holier-than-thou _____....

  • the great art blakey lee morgan and the jazz messengers pure soul music black music at its best

  • @326Ka black music, white audiences...then and now

  • shame is right.. Art had such a talent for fostering great players into the Jazz world. Great player and leader. Sidemen in this tour a great.. Lee Morgan.. really.
