I don't appreciate you guys fishing for kayaks. As a whitewater paddler, it's hard enough to negotiate streams without some guy trying to hook you! Give us a break, we're just out trying to have some fun too.
hey can you fish from sit inside kayak as well?? i am going to get a tempest 170 and a tarpon 160, both by wilderness systems. the tarpon sit on top will be mine but my father will also want to fish on his tempest which is sit inside.
Also , on the Viking kayaks or any other kayaks for that matter , always get a dry bag for your fone. Even tho many come with "waterproof" hatches , not all are actually waterproof. Found this out the hard way when my Samsung Galaxy got water damage inside the "dry bag" inside the hull. Well there goes a $400 phone when I could have spend $10 on a drybag. Spewing!
Rule #5: Get an arts grant that will cover your kayak, gear, food and b.e.e.r. costs for the next 2 years. Work? Heck no! It interferes with my fishing!
I have a recommendation for your hat. Paint the bottom black. Sun rays hit your face directly and burn it. They also bounce off the water and burn your face. They also bounce off the water, then off the bottom brim of the hat and burn your face. Spray paint the underside of the brim with flat black paint, and it will absorbe some of the suns energy which is a hazard to the person wearing the hat. Reduces a little bit of the sunburn. But, still, use sunscreen to help protect yourself.
I just got a kayak last week its the best investment ive ever made the heck with ever fishing from land gain =O!!! OH and make sure you tie some tough line to your fishing rod and w/e else your bring along just in case hehe =P!
Here's a good one. Wear quick drying lycra undies. They will dry as fast as your clothes. Cotton undies and you will be chafed and miserable. Better yet, wear nothing but sunscreen your PFD and a well placed sock. You'll dry off super fast,
Great tips- thank you as always. I always look forward to your weekly video clips.
A good Fishing Kayak ranges anywhere from $800 and up. I have a 2010 WS Tarpon 140, and love it. Shop around, you'll likely find a good deal online if you do your homework.
I like kayak fishing, but i am too cheep to get a fishing kayak, which makes it tiring and stressful to fish in due to the inability to have rod and gear storage. I'd love to get one of these kayaks, how much would i expect to pay do you think for one of those guys? Also, in California do you guys need to register your kayaks?
I am going to be fishing the Gulf of Mexico this summer. Thanks for the tips, keep em coming!
