Good for you Joe! What a noble and charitable act of compassion. I highly commend you. On the other hand, you write on your AHH sight how you desire to help the needy without the preaching. Our physical lives are significant but they are not the whole story; this life is transitory. There is a food that endures to eternal life even as Jesus taught in John 6. The church groups with their sporatic giveaways offer a message of hope beyond the here and now and need not broadcast their good deeds.
@jsisco11 - Well not last month! You should have heard the sermon. It started off being about how Tim Tebow is doing wrong by trying to get attention to himself, but that all Christians should behave like him anyway. Then it got nasty. The preacher talked about how anyone who isn't with Jesus in the end, will be punished forever. I think he knew we were in the audience. What do you think about volunteers helping, while they preach damnation to other volunteers? That's before we formally met.
And as Matt Dillahunty says---you "don't hold their sandwiches ransom. No conditions attached with atheist charities, no lectures, no speeches, no indoctrination---you just help. And congratulations to you for that.

I love how in the time lapse you can see people slowly creeping up to the table a foot at a time.
Great job by the way. I'm not an atheist but I know they catch way too much shit from religious nuts.
