  • im not really to melodrama movies but this one is entertaining!

  • I thought of that episode famly guy where peter disapears and comes back and brian is Lois's wife...

  • wtf? is she trying to be funny? o.o

  • The Prince of Presia is Spider-man's brother? and there both in love with the Black Swan Lady ?? LOL

  • Movies was amazing and compelling. The ending felt rushed and left alot of questions unanswered to me. Like wut will happen with his brother and the family

  • its not a war movie, its a movie about relationships.

  • Next time watch the movie before you review it. Stupid bitch.

  • his brother never slept with his wife?

  • How about you review it, not rag on it please. I personally thought it was a phenomenal movie.

  • America is a urinal. Afghanistan will break the "Good Ole" US of A. Just as it broke the USSR. It is headed toward disaster. The economy is shit. Most Americans are fat slobs that sit around watching American idol. 1/3 of American kids are diabetic and overweight welfare rats. Soldiers are gonna start dying by the hundreds soon. Obama is a fucking child. Bush was a retard. The only people that will benefit are the wealthy elite. Go back to sleep America. Nothing to see here.

  • @09geauxtigers I truly pity your ignorance. Many countries preach the essence of peace, faith, and well being for the world and humanity, but as a sad fact, and a historically proven one, those things are only reached through ones will to stand up for the trodden upon and at times, fight, not just for personal gain or freedom, but for his fellow man. There are millions of people around the world that look to the US as a beacon of hope, and your petty ignorance and hate isn't changing that.

  • Hey lady in the video, shut the fuck up! This movie kicked ass. Your opinion sucked.

  • A war movie that's not fucking pro-war like all the academy award winning tripe seems to be...

  • .Lo

    ve ya revi's grace!!!!

  • the trailer totally didn't justify the movies greatness... the trailer is the movie basically.

  • the movie was very compelling,

  • i know your trying to be a "cool, fresh, and different" reviewer with your retarded one liners and your extremely annoying voice but your review was absolutely garbage.

  • i love this movie!

  • i thought this movie was great

  • I give it a 1

  • This movie was pointless : \

  • I loved the movie the actors were brilliant, the reviewer sucks

  • Is this even a movie review? She's really annoying and just trying to dig for bad things about the movie. Is it just me? It's not funny?

  • the interviewer kinda gets annoying

  • Good only when his wife didn't asked what happened enough and she was dumb when he asked if the did intercorse lol should have said no

  • It's probably a really good movie, but I want to see a war movie that's a cross between Saving Private Ryan and Starship Troopers....

  • war movie .......maybe something about war........shit im stupid :(

  • I thought the acting was great. BUT I didn't really care for the ending. It felt a bit rushed. AND...all the questions Toby asked his wife and brother when he came back required a SIMPLE answer(in my oppinion)...why didn't they just TELL THE TRUTH. lol....less stress for everyone. Those are the only problems I had with it.

  • one of the best movies i've seen in a while... 10/10

  • realistic warfare movies.

or war movies that don't make vets out to be raving lunatics in general...

  • brothers is a horror movie??? wat da fuck??

  • War not horror.

  • Should win a razie I think all you stupid americans eat up the war bullshit. bottomline this movie was teriblle there was nothing good about it. 1/10

  • I liked this movie

  • your mad just becse mommy would rather sleep with uncle tommy then u!

    isnt tht cute lol

  • I just saw this movie.

I didn't particularly like it. I felt that it was filled with many unnecessary things, such as the daughter's interference with the family.

Also, I felt that Toby Macguire didnt fit the role of a soldier very well.

In addition, the ending was painfully lacking, even compared to the rest of this movie.

On the Plus side however, the beginning of the movie was great, and throughout it sort of kept you on the edge of your seat, even though it was quite predictable.

  • Also, I really liked the acting of Natalie Portman, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

The only reason I went to see this movie was because my freinds were going and I had nothing else to do.

    Overall: 6/10. It was Okay.

  • Greatest Video Grace!

  • I'm not sure why you say there was a crappy trailer. The one you showed at the beginning made the movie look like shit, but the theatrical trailer is intense.

  • his brother doesn't sleep with his wife have you even seen the movie???

  • So can anyone gimme a yes or no answer, should I go watch this movie

  • see it but its not the best..the preview made it look a lot better!

  • yeah go see it

  • oh yeah, i almost forgot, that chick needs a hobby and film reviews should be excluded from the list.

  • i agree with everyone leaving the theater. the trailer was good and that's what piqued my curiosity in the first place .... i mean, you can't give everything away with the trailer (it's a tease after all). i understand what you're saying.... not much of a review though. this film stuck with me for a couple of days and that's what i like.

  • its an awesome movie, but where is last

    movie math

  • Grace I hate movies like this. There isn't even a deep meaning behind it.

You get FIVE stars for the lady in the black jacket.

  • The deeper meaning was he was a prisoner of war tortured and when he came home to see she had finally gott her life together it drove him insane but the question was, could he live again after what happened being tortured and coming back.

  • @AyLynnHaus I thought the question was could he live again after what he had done to the other marine. Could you live with yourself after killing a man who trusted you with his life? That's what I took from the movie. I agree with you, it's got a lot deeper meaning than him just going crazy.

  • These are the kind of war films I like.

  • r they in Montreal? because that looks like the Pepsi forum

  • I like the kind of war movies that try to portray real warfare. Kinda like Saving Private Ryan or Platoon. I don't like it when it tries crappy themes like Hart's War or Pearl Harbor.

  • I enjoyed Stop Loss and i bought the DVD.

  • Lol. "How cute is that?" Love you grace!

  • From the trailers it does seem like a Lifetime film, even though the actors in the movie are superb actors. I don't think I'll go watch it, mostly because....it looks like a Lifetime feature film of the night.

I would have to say that "Saving Private Ryan" is my favorite war film. The action was well shot, and story well executed.

  • Something cool like The Dirty Dozen.

  • I like movies like "letters from iwo jima" and "flags of our fathers" and "pearl harbor" and "saving private ryan". The ones with a lot of heart to them.

  • Letters from Iwo Jima>Flags of our fathers

But damn,Clint Eastwood is a brilliant director!

  • Spiderman FTW lmao

  • Inglorious Basterds was the best war movie evar!!!!!!!!!

  • The acting is phenominal (especially Tobey's) but the story isn't that great. The movie never tries to be more than merely good. It's just average.

  • a call of duty modern warfare type of movie

  • lol @ sarcasm

  • Hey!!! I'm from Denmark and i'm not in to that kind of stuff!

  • When it will be another poster debate

  • Looks like a little bit like Pearl Harbor Movie

  • Grace, you're the best! "...How cute is that?" IMAO

  • This movie had amazingly well acted characters, but had some plot issues; It was one of those movies like The Pursuit of Happiness where nothing ever seems to go the right way.

  • Comment removed

  • it's hard for me to call this a war movie since it is more about the affects of war than about re-telling war itself. I enjoyed the movie though...it may have clinched Tobey Maguire's chances at an Oscar nod.

  • There seems to be a lot of that misleading trailer shenanigans going around these days.

  • I dont want to see any war movies. No memorobilia on heart breaking events like Vietnam.

  • I've seen both and the Danish is so much better. The Danish can make great movies with low budgets.

  • we do have a lot of good actors :3

  • i just have one thing to say... there very weird people in NY...

  • war movies like Saving Private Ryan

  • yea i agree

  • Ooooo.... going to see this tomorrow! :)

  • i luv war movies like inglorious basterds

  • I want to meet you Grace =)

    but I can't fly to NY =(

  • Brothers left me feeling like they skipped everything you wanted to see, and dragged on with everything you didn't want to see. first hour and a half was dragging (the "death", the cheating, he's alive, etc.) the last 20 minutes was good though. i wish the dragging could have been cut down to a half hour and the rest actually show them cheating for real, then have tobey catch them at some times, that would have made this A LOT BETTER. oh well...1.5 Stars if that, sorry

  • hmm id really like to see saving private ryan in HD blu-ray

but idk that much war movies

  • I want to see vivid, meaningful, and honest, dramatic movies about war. I prefer movies such as "Letters From Iwo Jima," "Platoon," or "Saving Private Ryan." War movies need to show both the good and bad and the in-between of wars and what soldiers go through. This movie Brothers reminds me of that garbage movie Pearl Harbor. Cut with the sappy "brother gets with his brother's girl" crap. Make the war, the soldiers the key, not some love triangle.

  • Don't let the trailer disuade you from seeing this movie. While it is said that it's not as poinant as the orignial, it is still pretty heart wrenching, especially the little girl. She is a wonderful actress. It's not a happy or action packed tale, but like they said above, it helps us understand a solider's perspective and the cost the war has- more than just the soliders that die.

  • The Hurt Locker was an excellent war movie that didn't try to add politics or a particular bias. Everyone should see The Hurt Locker.

  • My dream is to visit NY and have Grace interview me after a movie :)

  • My dream is to have Grace period.

  • i hate the trailer for this movie so much i refuse to see it.

first you get some great exposition from the little girl informing us that their believed to be dead father and jake guillinhal are brothers. then we have some really peaceful music. then toby maguire comes back. the little girl says something about her mom sleeping with her dads brother . toby maguire looses his shit shoots a gun in the air and back to peaceful music. fuckness

  • i totally agree about the trailer! it was honestly one of the worst trailers ive ever seen. but brothers is getting a lot of praise, so im thinking about seeing it now

  • there are always such weird people that are interviewed.. its kinda funny lol

  • haha, i know. i loved that guys hat lol

  • i want to see this

  • I want to see a WWI, WWII, KOREAN WAR, VIETNAM, Khmer Rouge, RWANDA, GULF WAR, 9/11, AFGHAN WAR, IRAQ WAR...a movie with all those wars put together and history mingles with itself...soldiers in WWII fighting soldiers in IRAQ WARmaybe an alternate ending where all the soldiers have no weapons, only Kung Fu and Titty Twisters...

  • i want to see a nother friday the 13 go jason voorhees

  • want to see it badly

  • I want to see another movie like Jar Head. It was such a good movie.

  • I gotta say normally i like your reviews but here you got it all wrong in my oppinion...

how is it a crappy trailer? It actually really made me want to watch it...

    so thumbs done

  • I enjoy historical depictions of war in film, but I'm not really a fan of the ones about wars that are currently happening. Why? I'm not sure. But it's probably to do with the fact that you can watch a movie guilt-free if the war they're portraying is already in the history books. These modern movies...they're always some director's personal comment on war or whatever.

Brothers seems like a downer. It doesn't look like it would appeal to me.

  • "These modern movies...they're always some director's personal comment on war or whatever."

To a great extent, all films are created more or less with the directors own personal "comment"

  • Well, that goes without saying. Whether the director is Michael Bay on some fifty million dollar set in Hollywood or your grandmother filming your birthday party, the person's looking through the lens is literally imparting their vision; adding their stamp on the picture.

I think you know what I meant. The kind of movies that are more like editorials than entertainment.

  • Huhhuh, you swore.

I also did not care for the trailer of this movie.

  • I want to see a war movie that takes place in modern day, in the Iraq/Afghanistan war. However, I do not want the movie to just patronize Americans, and that's it, this movie should show what war in the modern day is like.

  • A war movie set in Washington DC.

  • I don't mind the premise, since it gives you a twist you know from the trailers but didn't know about the semi-sweet beginning. It has no real bad guy, which seems interesting.

However, the war movie I like seeing is probably a shorter version of "The Hurt Locker." It was brutal and, inverse of "Brothers," had no real good guy.

  • Horror movies have to be tense all the way through. Otherwise it won't scare you.

Even lines like "Don't worry, it'll be fine when..." give you the hint of something bad and scary happening.

This doesn't really look like a usual horror movie. Maybe half.

  • Okay so like your glasses on Movie Math are trademark, your blue jacket with the turtle neck, while you're interviewing people is now also iconic.

I kinda was iffy about seeing Brothers. I don't know if I will.

  • good trailer!

  • I liked this movie a lot, but i expected more i guess. like for the climax, i wish there was like chasing and running around trying to kill someone, but no..

    great acting though! :D

  • Crappy trailer? What are you talking about, Grace?! The trailer looked AMAZING! I want to see this movie really bad BECAUSE of the trailer!

  • I only watched the trailer once. The thing looked way overcooked.

  • I want to see this movie!!

  • The trailer looked WAY too creepy... There's no way I would watch this movie. Nothing interesting this weekend... oh well.

  • Not even Boondock Saints II?
