I had a look at this bike today, I'm planning on getting an EBike to travel to and from work on occasions where I need to show up early. This one was recommended to me by the guy at the dealership in downtown Toronto when I was looking into the Smart Bike. My concern was distance, I'll be going up and down some steep hills through city streets doing a good 20km each way. I'm more worried about the battery dying on me while going to or from work.
@X2YeZCAMCNC put money down on this sucker not long after I commented. I only got it now, Daymak too forever to get this in my driveway. On a full charge, I went from downtown Toronto (jarvis/king) to my home (st.clair/dufferin) and my battery was 1/3 drained on idle, 2/3 drained on full steam. Hills really killed this thing and I run through some pretty steep ones. Travel time/distance, 1hour at say 25km. Hate the turn signal sound, loudly embarrassing.
I park the JEEP and drive the ebike to do all my running around town. Been out Chemong as far as the new Home Hardware/Home Building Center. I love it. The guy "VERN" at Blue Avenue Bike on George has nothing as fast as this baby. See your DAYMAK dealer ECOWHEELS. Added RED LED running lights and LED signal lights I made for added visibility. See ya around. I repair the battery chargers, HUB motor controller, and sell the hall effect sensors for throttle and the six sensors inside the hub motor.
still a bit cool to get mine out, but will post vid's soon, if you unhook the governor located near the motor, it will default to full power, and should get a bit more speed, keep in mind this is not legal. I can get about 42km/h on a warm day, flat road, no wind. oh and i weigh 240lbs! way cool, great video!
35K top speed and it is 500W motor 48V controller. I am going to modify this bike with a controller I designed and built. Will have low speed reverse, DrainBrain like power meter LCD, electronic braking and a few other thing but mainly for speed increase.
Gives you an idea how fast this thing can go ...alot quicker than I thought. I get mine in June also........the exact same model and color but I went with the dual battery pack for extra distance. What's the beeping sound? Low battery?
Yes, it goes fast enough...make sure you have paid for a warranty...it will breakdown within 1 year, I just repaired a few more bike over the weekend. The beeping sound is the turn signal indicator. It's the only thing people hear when your sitting waiting to make a turn at a light. You really didn't need the extra battery unless you carry it with you. This extra weight will reduce you drive time. I have been driving this one since April 2007.
@X2YeZCAMCNC Thanks for the video! I am also looking at this to travel around 35 km to my work from Ajax to Markham, do you think the single battery model will be enough? If I can remove the battery from the bike, I can re-charge it while I am at work. How long do you think it would take me to get to work with this?
I was just wondering for my next e-bike what brand should I go with? Because daymak is okay but i heard their service sucks!

I ride around on a Veloteq Cougar. Bought it a week after the pilot began in October of 2006. I have 5800 km on it. Still going strong.

Veloteq is a better choice-dealer network.
