I love the last episode of Sex and The City! It reminds me of my BFF's and it sums up the expectations of love for Carrie. I can definitely say, she speaks for me..."I am someone who is looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love."
I love this. The entire 6 years Carrie questions what she wants and in the final episode this short, beautiful monologue reveals that she has her answer.
and i d like to ad her decision to end up with big you couldnt say that it was a good thing either becouse big was a complex kind of guy that he didnt like commintment and he hurt carrie more than anyone else hurt her in the past.everyone wanted carrie to stay with big thats why it ended like this but i wish she married eithan in the end.he wasnt rich and powerful but he wouldnt let her down like the rest of the guys did
i dont think it was anybodys fault carries mistake was that she saw alexander as the prince charming a type of man all the 4 girls were looking into the whole entire series.alexander was rich he took her to all the expensive restaurants he gave her expensive gifts blah blah and carrie thought she was living in a fairytale even miranda told her that she was livin in a fantasy.alexander wasnt a bad man or a wife beater he was like burger he only cared for success and carrie didnt see that .

I am such a massive fan of the show, which is why I couldn't stand SATC 2. I thought about this monologue a lot during the movie, and the love portrayed between Carrie & Big in the movie, was not the love Carrie had talked about here. It was such a disappointment, which is why I choose not to acknowledge SATC 2. I still believe that Carrie and Big have that "Can't live without each other love" not the "5 day a week" love.
It's Carries fault shes in that situation. Like the Russian said...she KNEW what she was getting herself into. She knew what he did for a living, so the fact that she is shocked about all of it is her fault. All of her friends in New York told her not to go, but did she listen? Not at all. Its not the Russian's fault she is so unhappy. She should instead blame her own naiveity...
She did blame herself. Were you not paying attention? And that talking-to of hers that night was, in part, his fault as his begging her to attend his art display thing and then abandoning her so quickly. He should have continued holding her hand and walked WITH her through his art exhibit, he didn't even seem to know he'd left her behind. He did not warn her that he'd ever be that much of dick.

i love the commentary to this. it's almost completely silent because SJP is so beautiful here and is so raw. she is truely an amazing actress. i liked the russian alot, but he was never on the same level as carrie. i always think aiden was her emotial match, while berger was her mental, and big was her physical. i dunno what the russian was, maybe her fantasy match. he was a gorgeous older, rich man. who wouldn't go to paris with him?

I think it was very smart to add the necklace breaking. As if to say the dream she was living in is broken or her relationship with Alek is over. Also, that necklace took the place of her real necklace - the Carrie necklace, which is more appropriate to who she is.
I loved her the most with Aidan.. don't know why tht didn't work out. But I hated the russian.. sooo not right for her! and he hits her? wtf? instead of just standing there, shocked, she should've hit back or something.. although, in real life that takes seriously a lot of courage, standing up for yourself.
I liked Aiden the best but I didn't like her and Aiden together. They didn't really work... he was a good guy and all, but she wasn't completely herself with him. To take Carrie's line from the finale, Aiden didn't love the her that she loved. I'm not a Big fan, but I must admit that they were completely themselves around each other.

I can relate to some of what Carrie went through in the last two episodes. I am from a lovely small town, and I spent some time in a lovely big city, which had a lot of stuff going for it, but I was miserable and homesick. I was even in a five-star hotel at one point and I could only enjoy it for so long until I was calling home!
So when I got back to my town, I was so happy because I knew for a fact that this where I want to be. It's no NYC, but it's my place, and I love it.
I think it was supposed to be symbolic--she realized when she found her Carrie necklace that that was what she really wanted--her NY life. And the diamond necklace breaking was a sign that this relationship wasn't going to work out.
Well I think she realized the slap was an accident...
Besides, her quote has nothing to do with being slapped; she had already realized the relationship was going nowhere before he accidentally hit her.
I think she acted great...more passion would imply she wanted the love she was looking for to be with him...and it was more her realizing and accepting that this wasn't what she wanted and that she had to leave to find her happiness.
I think this dress is an interesting choice; it resembles the classic Sylph costume (what the prima ballerina would wear) of the Romantic ballet movement, and Baryshnikov is such a famous ballet dancer...

I think this dress is an interesting choice; it resembles the classic Sylph costume (what the prima ballerina would wear) of the Romantic ballet movement, and Baryshnikov is such a famous ballet dancer...

it's incredible how carrie changed during the series: in the first she was a young confident adult enjoying sex, in the 6th she's completely cute and naive and up the clouds like a 13 year old girl! also i think the 1st and the 6th are the series where she looks better..well and when she had short hair

Probably because she had already been in a relationship with a man who only thought of himself before. She's probably blaming herself for not having been able to see this coming before, maybe for not having learnt her lesson the first time she broke up with Big and all that she went through. Now, of course Aleksandr should have apologized here for having let her alone all that time instead of just going to bed.
