Hi, How Can this EWI be Played alive? The EWI only needs a PC? How is its latency? Which is better Yamaha WX5 or EWI? Thanks

@magmanolo Hi, I use a laptop to a Pa system to play live. There is no discernable latency 4.1 ms. I prefer yamaha, but its a matter of taste.

can ewi be plaed by earphones so i could practice nights as well without disturbing neighbours, and how close ewi akai 4000 comes to real saxophones sound, and can it changed to alto to tenor, i dont know wich one i would get if getting real insturument.

Yes, you can play with headphones. The EWI fingering can be set to sax, fingering and the EWI can be transposed to be in Eb Bb or any key, so it can be alto or tenor.

@JanneFlinck1981 It'll help you get the fingering sorted and with a lot of practice (and good instruments like Mr Sax from SampleModeling some musical expression).... then you just need to learn how to make the reed vibrate and create the right sound........ hmm I guess that might be the hard bit :-)

Probably a good quick win and will help with half the battle, but don't get good on the EWI and then turn up to a jam session and forget your EWI and borrow a proper instrument.

I made this myself using a WX7, sorry but these are not available. You can get a WX5 or an EWI from music stores.
