The defense was horrible, and the powerplay was non-existent. It could very well have been there worst game this year. That is saying alot.

I would trade Wellwood, he has all the talent in the world, but he is LAZY! Concentrate on Stajan and Steen, they know how to play team defense. Poninkarovsky might fetch a decent draft pick also. For the good of the team Mats has to be traded. Sign him back this up-coming off-season.

i think a lot like this guy right here, we do need to get rid of wellwood because he's so damn lazy. Stajan and steen are great on the pk and poni is having a pretty good year but i wouldnt give him up for a draft pick because the leafs are terrible at picking players as we all know in the past.

Well, if Sundin got traded whic is a definite possibility given the leafs spot in the standings it MIGHT Not be the worst scenario in the word. We could always rent him out for a prospect or two, maybe some first round draft picks, and then sign him back in the summer. It wouldnt be the first time a team has done something like that. But if he ends up gone for good, I would HAVE to give the C to Kaberle. He's been with the team the longest, and is our best Dman if not our best player

Yeah it's definetly unfair to Fergie, but he hasn't done nearly enough to help his cause. He's done a little, but not enough. maybe im crazy, but i think he is their best defenseman. he knows how to play the man, how to angle them away to the outside, plus he is smart with puck. he has a lot of heart, and thats the biggest requirement to have if you are to be captain. do you have any ideas as to who should wear the C when mats is gone?

Not the captain not by a longgggg shot. I truly believe he'll be great in the future, and that he's mediocre now. Captain? Next year? that's...no. Who should be? Nobody, this team needs a shake up in the worst way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but #7 is White and I REALLY don't think he's captain material. Well not now anyway (maybe never). If Mats leaves, I don't think we should have a captain until earliest the start of next season hoping Sundin will come back and regain it.

I fully agree, the C shouldn't go to anyone until the next season and I don't ever see a letter ending up on ol number seven, he's got a good shot but can be a bit of a giveaway artist. I like him but I wouldn't even put him in the top 4 D men.

i am growing tired of waiting for them to develop in to the "all stars" we thought they had the potential to be, and the teams that would give up draft picks for them would probably be in the lower echelon of the league resulting in a bigger reward in having a higher draft choice.

I didn't think that the Kubina knee on Perry was intentional, but I agree that Belak should not of hit Perros (super-stach) while he was down and defencless. Hate to bring it back up, but thats like the Downie hit on Blake...Not for that kinda stuff.

Similar yes, but I think Downie's earned his colours more than Belak has. Downie's played what? 6 games? Belak was picked in 94. But yes, no excuse for that.

I think Downie's was much worse just because Blake didn't fight or even throw his gloves off. Atleast Belak did it after they just fought. Either way, both shouldn't happen. I was excited to see some toughness from them atleast, something we have been heavily lacking.

Wellwood has great potential but he has been slacking so much lately and has no defencesive game period. Get rid of him, kilger, woznewsgay (worst player on the leafs by far) mark bell, raycroft, and somehow get rid of jason blake, come on he's going to the allstar game with 8 goals and something like 18 assists, he'll be embarassed.
