I'm trying to quantize a live drum recording that's about 2 minutes long. I'm able to quantize about 45 seconds or so but once drum rolls or fills come in, it throws the metronome off. I can't seem to figure this out. Please help..Thanks
@abletonrookie when you get to the point where you get stuck, turn the metronome off, play the sample and count the beats/bars in your head. when you next get to a part in the sample where it "makes sense" again, place the correct beatmarker (you will know what it is from the counting in your head that you did) at that point.
this will give you the basic framework, then you can go back to the confusing bits and finetune the warping. thats what i do and i can warp all kinds of crazy music :)
I don't use Ableton very often, and I prefer to extract grooves by hand, but still..this is dope!

Hi, Do you know if you can create another note lane in your midi tracks like in reason, so You don't have to create another VSTwith the same sound.

@abletonrookie you should try warping the drum rolls one by one.

With experience you just get a feel for the timing, not sure I'd trust live to extract a groove with precision. I'll have to give it a go.
