  • ya cant go wrong with a case knife i have been collecting for years and have a large number of them some worth over a thousand dollars each the quality and finish are as good as any and better then most ill be posting some of my knives in the near future.

  • I just purchased my first case knife...its a texas jack with the bone handle. Amazon had the best price I could find. I have lots of other knives, but I new to case too. The one I got is a little jewel...almost too purty to use :O) I may just rub on it for awhile and put it a new box labeled "My Case Knives" enjoy!

  • Do you go to central indiana gun shows?? I go to these for my Pocket knives!

  • @egyptcatproductions can't say that I have ever been there.

  • Hey CajunBlaze...what you are looking at is a basic Stockman design. The blades are Clip, Sheep and Spey (the one that looks kind of tanto like). I used to like Case until I saw Doggorunning's video on them. He educated me on how Case has changed since the 70s. You really ought to check out Great Eastern Cutlery. You'll be BLOWN AWAY by the quality...USA made ONLY old school with a lot of hand work.

  • I love a good Case knife. I was really into tactical folders (still am), but Case knives started calling out to me a few years ago. If you want a really nice, affordable Case knife that's old fashioned and unique, check out their hawkbill knives they just brought back last year. I picked one up at Bass Pro for under $40, and it's got to be one of the finest slip joints I know.

  • Case knives are nice, but Rough Rider knives rival them in quality, which is a shame. 35 dollars for a Case vs 10 bucks for RR, and they're pretty much both the same. O well, I'll still take the Case

  • great knives. nice video. god bless

  • I LOVE that second knife you got, with the leopard print. That is just beautiful. I love the classic look that their knives have, and love that they are considered "good quality". I'm looking at purchasing one pretty soon :)

  • theyre stockmans!!

  • I'm not real big on bone knives....I like stag. I do have several amber bone knives though. My favorite being 62131...the canoe. The damascus blades gives it the advantage in being a favorite.

  • Nice video. I have a Case, it's an excellent edc knife.

  • like ur knives mon

  • You are 100% correct about the value of Case knives going up over time i have been collecting for 20 + years and Case is still my favorite brand altho i collect others as well.

  • @ceelos09 Good for him....

  • @thecajunblaze im the won that noes more than u lol i got another case today at the gun show i like ur knives louh good luk!

  • @thecajunblaze oh and that is me lol i have 2 case knive 1 i got from lowes the other from a gun show i wovs pocket knives

  • @ceelos09 Wow, cool story bro.

  • @ceelos09 that comment was a fail

  • I have the Amber Bone knife. Very nice, one of my favorites. Really sharp, I carved a whole branch.

  • @Vanguard41xx Thanks for watching!

  • @Vanguard41xx how much did you pay for it?

  • @wammybar4ever 50 dollars.

  • @Vanguard41xx EDIT: I carved a whole branch very easily. Lol.

  • ive got the mako nice knife

  • @RodneyLeonard wow, you even are restricted about knives that we're in Spain, only automatic knives are forbiden over here. Even assisted opening models are allowed

  • the first knife you showed is an older knife, another cool this about case knives is that you can date them, look at the dots on the main blade and for every year they take off one dot! they are both Congress knives

  • i have some china knives also the fit and finish is great on them not sure about the steel quality yet but before long they will be as good as what we make or better for half the price..i prefer the german knives myself i like pumas but ti think they are doing some of them in china before long all we will have are china mades knives...

  • case knives are the best knives i have ever used. small sharp easy to use simple, and made in the USA

  • Case knives are awesome. My grandfather gave me one when I was 7 or 8, I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. I've never seen his whole collection, but he's been collecting them since the 60s I think. Beautiful knives.

  • I don't understand why 4 people disliked this video.... But anyways, good video, thank you. Case knives are very nice.

  • is this the medium stockman?

  • @6leafdom Yea those are medium stockmans

  • lafayette indiana?

  • @RodneyLeonard Thanks for watching!

  • zippo and case are the sAme compney sowe there some more for WR CASE AND SON

  • Nice knives! Case is my favorite brand by far. Made in the USA and high quality.

  • Beautiful knives. I have a green pocket worn bone medium stockman like you show (the knife that bit ya). Great knife. If you have a second does yours have a date on the box or on the knife? (how many dots or x's?).

    Peace!

  • @SageSofa I havent saw a response to ur post but the 1st knife he opens the blades up on is a late 90s cant see how many dots but it is late 90s. And judging by the box and the very edge of the tang you can see when he picks up the amber bone knife it looks like an early 2000s

  • My Great Great Grandma had the second one, and then she gave it to my dad, and now I have it.

  • Once the "Made in China" stamp goes onto something, all expectations of quality disappear. At least WR Case seemed to know that, unlike Buck, which no longer has my business.

  • @oeyesea not all bucks are made off shore.

Buck is working on bringing back all manufacturing to the states.

  • some times its just nice to get back to where pocket knives came from theres just to many "tactical" knives these days.

  • Nice knives!

  • the blades are clip point, sheeps foot and pen

  • Not all Bucks are made in China!

  • gotta watch the finish on the blades- very sharp out of the box. I got bit a few times by a case knife.

  • Good job proving it was sharp! lol

  • Spey blade, not tanto. For speying/nutering/castrating

  • Thats why I use mine for anyway ;-)

  • hurts thinking bout it.

  • Did you say "Hymen Center"? lol.

    Nice looking knives. Great video!

  • I said the Heymann Center!

  • Yea. I know. Like... "hymen". Nevermind. Bad joke.

  • Looks to be Amber bone with Peachseed jigging.

  • Cool knives. My dad got me hooked on pocket knives, he got me a vitorinox swiss army knife for a gift. I also have an Old Timer that was originally my Grandfather's who passed away before I was born. It was given to me by my uncle. I really want a Case trapper. I'm torn between buying a new SAK or a Case

  • I have that exact same case knife. It was my grandfathers and he gave it to my dad and he gave it to me. It still works perfect. the steel isn't as shiny but its still perfect

  • is there any Case multi-tool that has a locking blade ?

    nice review btw.

  • By traditional steel you me junk stainless!

  • Those are some nice looking stockmen. I like how the first has rounded bolsters, rather than the typical square ones.

Also, apparently, Buck has moved all production back to the U.S. Can't say the same for Schrade, as it was liquidated back in 2004 and bought out by Taylor Brand in China. It's a real shame.

  • That's right! Thanks!

  • have u heard of the new 2009 halloween case knife

  • No I haven't. I bet it looks nice!

  • it cost like 90 dollars

  • i have a case knife that doesn't even say case do you think its a older one?

  • those are some good looking stockman case knives. i dont have any case knives but i do have puma stag handle stockman i really like it. nice video and even nicer knives.

  • Both of those are beautiful knives. As much as I like modern knives, the more traditional ones certainly have an appeal all their own. They're sort of anti-mall ninja I suppose. I enjoy simple knives. Plus, they'll do 75% of what I use knives for anyway. I think I'm going to have to get one of those tan handled ones. Really nice man.

  • Thanks!

  • Again thanks for the review. I bought that trapper I was looking at and now I'm already thinking of getting a trapperlock or russlock. thanks!!

  • Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching.

  • i had that second case knife "someone lost it " and i was pissed lol.

  • hey blaze i found an old case knife that hasnt been used in years

its dull and all grimed up and can barley be opened

got any ideas on how to fix it up? i dont have any oil or wd40

just wonderin if there was any tricks i cud use

    mabye soakin it in somthin?

  • I would get some 3-in-1 oil and some WD-40. Spray the hell out of it and let it soak. You should be ok after a couple of days. That's what I would do. Then get it sharp.

  • Hey Blaze. I've admired case knives for a while, but have never purchased one, because I've heard their steel is...well crap. The reason I've contacted you is becuase you are a fan of Spyderco, as am I. I EDC the Caly3 more than anything else. All of the knives I carry are very sharp and hold a good edge. I worry that if I buy a Case, I'll be very disappointed with the steel and it will sit in the closet as a collector.

Any advice will be well listened to.

    Thanks Blaze.

    James

  • Case uses 420HC for their stainless blades and chrome vanadium for their carbon blades. The carbon will hold an edge longer and be easier to sharpen, but will require more rust-prevention maintenance. A patina will assist with that. Personally, I'd go with the CV, it's a little better IMO. 420HC isn't bad though, if properly heat treated. If you cut lots of really tough stuff, it will certainly get dull faster than s30v or vg10. Plenty for opening mail and what not though. Certainly not crap.

  • Thanks for the review. I have been wanting and looking at them lately. I'm going to get the trapper soon. thanks again. nice knives.

  • eknifeworks(dot)com/smokymountainknifeworks(dot)com.

    (Same site)

  • Case knives can be bought online. One good site is eknifeworks(dot)com((smokymountainknifeworks(dot)com)).

  • Don't be fooled by "Schrade" Old Timers made in China - the U.S. company died :-( and sold off that brand to the highest bidder. Those new Chinese ones have NOTHING to do with the original carbon steel gems. Now, while Buck does make some knives in China, they still do manufacture some great old time pocketknives right here. Look for the 301 and 303 model stockman knives, for ex. But I'm with you - nothing beats a good Case knife. And they still make great carbon steel (or CV) bladed knives!

  • I bought a 301 and 303 and was disappointed. Plenty of side to side bladeplay on them and they cost $30 each. My $20 SAK Soldier has much better spring with a nice snap to it with no bladeplay.

I'm gonna save up a bit and get a nice Case stockman and a peanut, heard they are higher quality than Buck

  • very cool! thanks :)

  • i really, really like the first one, not because it cut you, but that green looks really sweet! how much did that one cost? ~$30?

  • $40 for the green and $45 for the tan

  • Glad you enjoyed.

  • Did you see that. That little cut me like a paper cut.

  • Lol awsome! I have a few old timers i used to carry as a kid. Still use em some times! Great lil knives.

  • Old Timer and Buck make good pocket knives, I think the value of a Case will be better in the future. I saw a Old Timer that was made in the US and they wanted $75 for that old knife. They would never get that from the knives made from China. Doesn't mean they aren't good. Thanks for the comment. -Bryan

  • Are those both large stockman or medium?

  • Congrats on the Case knives, I bought a couple of them about a month and a half ago. Love the knives, I carry one of them everyday.

I actually bought one off of ebay, but couldnt wait for it so I went to the local hardware store and bought one.

Glad I bought 'em. Use them for most everything and they sharpen really quickly.

  • These really are great little pocket knives.

  • love the vids

  • Thanks!

  • buck still make some slipjoints in america they have black handles
