  • Atleast Kenny G does it well.

  • does anyone have any idea on where i can get a transcription of this piece?

  • This was on the Men In Black soundtrack.

  • DJ Premier would have been nice on the turntables instead of DJ Apollo.

  • @MFSilverOxide

    Nah not on the scratch!

  • I can't stop revisiting this.... He got the best sounding alto IMO.

  • I agree, this is an awesome recording. I love the jokes Branford pulls with Calderazzo at the beginning of the theme. Personally, though, I prefer Kenny Garrett's alto sound, but Branford's sound is a great second.

  • This is a knock-out-punch-in-the-face for the fellow pop saxophonist aka David Sanborn, Dave koz, Eric Marientals, Kenny G..... :o)

  • He is like saying I will just play one good pop song for you :)

  • this is fucking awesome !!!

    Funk is alive!!!!

  • Nice groove. I like the mixture of Jazz, New Orleans style funk, with elements of hip-hop. Nice Post.

  • I can't believe Charlie Parker used part of Buckshot's song for Donna Lee, check it out!!!

  • lol

  • @bkjbs762

    Au contraire!

  • @bkjbs762 you mean the other way around?

  • @Bassplaya919 no, i knew buckshot way before parker

  • @bkjbs762 You do know that Parker came about 50 years before Buckshot, right? Also, Donna Lee is by Miles Davis.

  • @HendrixcommaMartin do you know ANYthing about jazz?~! know your classics man! Donna Lee is by Jaco Pastorius, after parker stole it from miles davis aka buckshot le fonque

  • @bkjbs762 Cannonball was Buckshot Lefonque, not Miles.

  • oldscooooool :D

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • Nice Song.

  • Donna Lee !!

  • What year is this.. they all look so 80ish ! hehe!

  • circa '95

  • Yes , Flowjazz is right, they play the melody from Donna Lee at 2:55'.

  • I've never seen Branford play alto before.

  • Rock on! Bran's the man

  • OH MY GOD ! The Donna Lee transition was OFF THE CHAIN !!! Yo that was hot ! Plus look at the band line up ...killin

  • I bought one of his cds for a dollar...pretty good...not great

  • Did you by Buckshot LeFonque's work or Branford's other groups.

  • Donna Lee? Is he serious?

  • lol ya?

  • Superb!

  • Saw them performing a load of Buckshot tracks at Leeds Irish Centre donkeys ago . . . still gets me goin!

  • BUCKHOT ROCKS

  • What's funny about this is that I started the video and walked out of the room. From outside the room, something about the piece reminded me of the Brecker's "Some Skunk Funk", then I come back in and notice the title is "Some Cow Funk". Hmmm? Maybe there's something to my initial impression. Carl... I'm totally digging the slide work!

  • hey russell is that a pager u sportin....lol
