I agree, this is an awesome recording. I love the jokes Branford pulls with Calderazzo at the beginning of the theme. Personally, though, I prefer Kenny Garrett's alto sound, but Branford's sound is a great second.
@HendrixcommaMartin do you know ANYthing about jazz?~! know your classics man! Donna Lee is by Jaco Pastorius, after parker stole it from miles davis aka buckshot le fonque
What's funny about this is that I started the video and walked out of the room. From outside the room, something about the piece reminded me of the Brecker's "Some Skunk Funk", then I come back in and notice the title is "Some Cow Funk". Hmmm? Maybe there's something to my initial impression. Carl... I'm totally digging the slide work!
Vive lefonque!

DJ Premier would have been nice on the turntables instead of DJ Apollo.

This is a knock-out-punch-in-the-face for the fellow pop saxophonist aka David Sanborn, Dave koz, Eric Marientals, Kenny G..... :o)

Nice groove. I like the mixture of Jazz, New Orleans style funk, with elements of hip-hop. Nice Post.

@bkjbs762 You do know that Parker came about 50 years before Buckshot, right? Also, Donna Lee is by Miles Davis.
