  • Come on now, how many men fuck around during their marriage...Of course it's wrong, it's immoral, but it still happens. At least he had the balls to be upfront about it, and it takes alot of balls while doing it in front of millions of viewers...so my respect to him! And yes, Jay Leno would probably never have done something like this :-)

  • No seriously, why the fuck are they still clapping and LAUGHING when he admits to having an affair with several of his employees?!?!?! Was that just a laugh track???

  • @archknight20 I imagine the audience is still clapping for two reasons mostly. First, people do expect the show to be funny and initially it's difficult to know whether this is serious or not, especially since Letterman adds jokes in between here and there. Why he added the jokes is probably because he needed that support to say something so difficult to the public.

The second reason is because people are idiots. After the first minute they should have kept their mouths shut,

  • All men are the same -about 90 percent

  • So, I need to wonder, was the black mailer, Chris Elliott?

  • Kudos to Dave. Politicians, take note: THIS is how you do it.

  • man. what the fuck is with this audience.

  • Lutheran???? Hahaha.

  • Everybody does mistakes, and Dave handled this situation brilliantly if you ask me

  • bald mofo didnt talk during the whole story, first time ever..

  • @dobazac OMG ikr!

  • Why are they EVEN clapping????!!!

  • Dave's the man!!

  • tell tail signs he is telling the truth to paul shafers crew and others the david lettermen right look...

    paul did not know

  • Dave is the King!!

  • the bravest thing someone could do!

  • at least hes honest!

  • WOW this wow i dont even know. the audience like what the hell, i just dont know i just dk. unbeliveable

  • this is the kind of sincerity and realness that scumbag jay leno could never display

  • hes being serious, he didnt crack one smile or anything. the audience made him look bad, but really he's serious. he said "why is that funny?" he handled it really well

  • akward but dave handled it well. cant blame the audience for not knowing how to respond

  • I love puritanical America so many people have affairs and failed marriages yet you can't and be in the public eye be it tv host politician or sportsman. And everyones comments are demanding he publicly apologize to his wife over what is obviously a private matter he talks about it only because it became public

  • this guy's a genius, he admits to cheating on his wife (THE top scandal anyone could hope for) and gets away with it. wow.

  • Comment removed

  • Why are they still clapping????!!!

  • @TheRelativeUnknown because that is what they are there for.

  • His impression of the blackmailer, makes me kind of suspicious that George Lucas did it.

  • I guess I missed the part where he apologized to his wife.

I just love America. I guess if Tiger came out and confessed and made it sound jokey, people would have just laughed off the fact that he committed adultery.

WTF, SERIOUSLY. I can't even wrap my head around this.

  • @ImaginarYxGoddesS letterman wasnt married when he slept with one employee. tiger woods had a parade of women going into and out of his house behind his wife's back.

  • Guys the audience are laughing because Letterman is clearly making it funny so the show is still entertaing for the audience! I'm more worried about the youtube audience than his live audience rofl

  • @kingt34 hahah was thinking the same thing!

  • @1992InterMilan lol looking at it again: I think Letterman was really lucky to have that audience because to them all this crap didn't put a smudge on Letterman's image! They still love him, which is fair enough lol. Of course it was wrong to have an affair: but he is such a likeable guy haha

  • 0:14 lil wayne somewhere

  • why are they laughing?

  • Am I the only one who laughed ONLY at 8:44 - 8:50 ???

  • @NiNj4k0S no thats the funniest part

  • Just imagine what Craig Fergueson has done!

  • you have an annotation on your vid for no reason...

  • I don't see the big deal. It's not like he named them.

  • there's a turd in the punch bowl

  • From the beginning of the video all up until he admits that he slept with people who worked for him you can tell the audience still isn't sure if he's making a joke or if he's serious and I don't blame them for that because he makes long winded, elaborate jokes all the time. Obviously, none of them as extreme as this story was, but he's a comedian and it's hard to know whether he's joking or not. Anyway once he admitted that he did in fact sleep with some of the people the audience smartened up.

  • i watched the video and the only thing i can think of is....why is it always 2 million dollars?? everyone asks for 2 million! why not 3 or 4! FUCK

  • Comment removed

  • What the fuck is so funny and why is everyone cheering and acting fucking retarded.

Is it some mental issues in america i havent heard of wtff!

  • I absolutely love Letterman. Adore! He can be charming in the most odd situations.

  • @AnnaLeckie Would you be saying the same thing if you were his wife?

  • THIS AUDIENCE IS RETEARDED AS HELL :O

  • He had the balls to say that to the entire world. Give him props for at least that.

  • @AnaloserFacee

Props. Now, Letterman, you are a horrible man.

  • @AnaloserFacee Given his circumstance and the options he had, I think he was smart and chose the best one, but he's always on T.V. So of course he would have to either confess it himself, or let someone else confess for him. Even he tried to choose options so that it wouldn't be public, but as he said, it was no gaurantee that the guy would keep his mouth shut.

But yes, it's true, men often times do not have balls, yet, he still didn't apologize to his wife. Great.

  • since this first came on the news, i noticed that no one has changed their opinion of him at all. not calling him an old man whore or anything! people still think hes kinda cool! To be honest i think hes alright, I'm just saying he's not being no one thinks of him differently.

  • HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A SCUMBAG, HE JUST GOT CAUGHT.. WHAT A TURD

  • I have to agree with the person who said that we ALL are human and make mistakes. How would anyone like the worst things you've ever done broadcast to the world? It would not be easy. I hate the things he did, but I so respect him for coming forward and apologizing. WE need to be more forgiving... it wasn't anything he did to us, and as long as his wife forgives him, then we can't judge him. "Whoever is without sin, cast the first stone!"

  • @mysterious1961 HIS SON HARRY IS GONNA BE SO PROUD OF HIM WHEN HE GROWS UP.. DAMN

  • @whb1965 Duh no he won't, but at least he'll know how to own up to his mistakes rather than denying them. also he'll learn what it means to forgive when someone does him wrong. You'll feel differently about this when you've done something truly bad and you need to be forgiven. I hope you'll experience more forgiveness than you exhibit. But be careful.. God promises that he'll judge us as we judge others.

  • From what Ive read of the new book on the late night debacle with him and Leno and Conan, the audience had no idea that Dave was being serious.

  • The audience is so stupid... How is that even funny?

  • im pretty sure the audience thinks he's joking...

  • what a stupid crowd..

  • @dookiebowser Yeah, I'd choose this over his standup any day.

  • God, what a creep this man is - what a total woman-hating, self-important, little creep. Makes me ashamed to be a man. "Yes, I had sex with someone on my show"

How much did you pay her???

    creep

  • WHAT A PRO !

  • "whas that the foreigners?"

  • i'd shoot every person in the audience in the face. shut the hell up

  • stop fucking clapping

  • Letterman is admiting this on tv! Proud of that man....really......

  • He should have probably let them know that he was being serious beforehand, but it's a testament to his character that he came clean on it in front of everybody. He didn't have to say anything about it at all, since the guy was already arrested an it was all over with, he could've just swept it under the rug and moved on.

  • But the actual thing is of course not funny.

  • It's the way he tells his story that makes it funny.

  • Dave seemed a little nervous throughout this whole thing. There's no idea to know all the scenario's going through his head about what may happen. His wife may leave him, he could lose his job, his reputation, he could become a joke and a pariah. Its all scary and he decided to be a man about it and come clean to everyone. This is very admirable and an amazingly brave thing to do.

  • @joekoe97 I agree. This is the ONLY time and the ONLY man (so far) who has ever confessed to having relations outside of his family (And on his own show, no less) and turned out a better man because of it. Not just to the public, but to himself, as well. NO OTHER CELEBRITY has done this; They have all either denied it or ran away from it. They could learn a few things from this.

Hats off to you, Dave! May you never retire from TV! =3

  • Why the hell do the audience keep laughing? Jesus.

  • Everyone keeps waiting for the punch line...

  • @maxxrexx :-)

  • Two consenting adults!??! Having...CASUAL SEX?!?! Well sir I've never heard the like, I am Outraged sir just Outraged!!

  • You do realise that he's saying the confession in a way which makes people laugh, in order to make the topic easier for himself to talk about. It also makes the confession seem like less of a problem to the viewers.

  • @Pmtmr He did it while he was married which was probably his main concern that his wife would find out.

  • His audience is so stupid.

  • this guy became so funny whatever he take about makes people laugh.

  • See what i dont get is like why dave needs to aplogize. The guy was extorting him for something Dave didnt want to get out, but Dave stopped him, so why did it get out? You know what i mean?

  • I think the people laughing and clapping made it easier for him

  • Stupid goons laughing and clapping at him.. Idiots.

  • @berg9850 Its daves own fault. He doesnt know how to explain anything properly. He should have made it clear at the top of the story that it wasn't a joke, he was being serious etc etc

  • @serioulsysilly4 - IF people dont have the right to post negative comments that are their opinions and only positive comments online you have a screwed up perception of freedom of speech

  • i dont really understand the humour in this "confession" - its just not funny

& not only does the audience clap at this confession, but they also laugh - didnt really understand what was soo funny

LOL at @seriousilly4 - isnt posting a comment in the first place expressing our opinion - opinions which according to her/him are assholes LOL

the youth of today eg. @jenny94 clearly arent as shallow and ignorant as perceive them to be - well done

  • @kazbaby212 Just because you don't get something or you don't find it funny doesn't mean there are those of us who find the humor in it. Life sucks, people fuck up, laugh at yourself. Not every comment is meant to be a opinion. I was simply asking jenny94 why comment at all if you hate the guy anyway? She knows what she's watching, it's in the title. She watched and commented for the simple fact that she wanted to state her biased opinion.

  • @seriouslysilly4 seriously, just stop.. your intention is continuous and i don't know what you're trying to prove. you say it's fine for me to post my 'BIASED OPINION' but you seem to be asking me why i posted?? isnt it clear that i wanted to EXPRESS MY OPINION! opinions are bias in people who object, some may agree with me so again, what are you TRYING TO ASK ME?

  • @Jenny94 oh and also, lol at you.. you just answered your own question..

"why comment at all if you hate the guy anyway?

She watched and commented for the simple fact that she wanted to state her biased opinion."

    enough now?

  • @Jenny94 You FINALLY answered my question... So thank you! :) Yes, lol, enough. Sorry for picking a fight... It was boredom! I am quite impressed by your stance on everything! No hate here and I hope the same goes for you! Again, I apologize for acting like the child...

  • and wut the fuck was da point of this?? y is dis attention whore tellin ppl bout who he had sex wid?? he cud have sex wid whoever he wants.

  • wtf is wrong with the audience...fuckin americans

  • Letterman isn't funny, EVER. He's stupid just like the audience. Deserved him right for being such an arse and having an affair. Smart move for confessing to the public before it got out of control, although i still think he's a fuckhead no less.

  • @Jenny94 Then why do you even bother to make a comment? If you hate him, why even watch the video and make a nasty comment about it? He made a mistake, get over, you're the fuckhead dear...

  • @seriouslysilly4

I watched it because i was curious of what had really happened.. not what the news/mags/net had said. it's just my opinion. .. i think there's a difference between "mistakes" and utter stupidity. Mistakes is more so sub-consciously doing so or without any intention. he knew what he did.. yet he had done so?

you can't put that 'why do you bother to make a comment' cause im merely expressing my opinion, dear...

  • @Jenny94 Opinions are like assholes, most people don't want to get near one, dear...

  • @seriouslysilly4

hahaah.. just so you know, you're arguing with someone who is extremely younger than you..from what your profile said anyway.. and your reply is that? sorry but.. you just opinionated that 'opinions are like ass-holes." isnt that hypocritical? also, humans are opinionated, it's natural to judge/assume/THINK.....don't feel too embarrassed now, dear..

  • @Jenny94 You're assuming I feel embarrassed for not argeeing with someone my age? Seriously? I don't care WHAT age you are. How is saying "Opinions are like assholes" hypocritical? It's a saying. That's why I said it. Does my opinion matter more than yours? Not in the least. I just wanted to point out that you posed an opinion, which is fine, but you obvious don't care for Dave in the first place and now that he's confessed you see it as a chance to leave negeative comments. That's my point.

  • @seriouslysilly4 How isnt "opinions are like assholes" NOT hypocritical? even though you say "it's a saying," you say it because you agree with it.. and that's your opinion.. it's quite clear really ;s... You also say that it's my chance to leave negative comments, IT AGAIN, is what i think. so i'm not sure why you keep asking me why i posted my comment when i clearly say it's just my opinion.

  • You have to apologize for having sex nowadays? Shoot me

  • @soulblader7 not much that but because he had an affair.

  • He did not apologize for his actions. He made a joke about it.

  • @Aikuinen what was he supposed to apologize for having sex?

  • wat fags hes spilling out his gutts and the fags are laghing

  • They didn't know he was serious..pussy.

  • Fuckin audience is well annoying...idiots!!

  • so what, he just fucked a bimbo. Blonde, by the way....

  • imagine how dave would've been feeling as the show started..

  • Audience are retarded, so retarded.

  • The people in the audience are like a bunch of monkeys applauding for every single thing he says. Can you really blame the rest of the world for thinking Americans are stupid?

  • but that's how letterman does everything... I think the audience laughing makes it more jokingly anyway....so what was the "stuff"....that he did or does..

  • this is the funniest thing hes ever done.

  • doooh! dumbest audience ever

  • Shouldn't have laughed? He was venting his feelings?

Pardon? Are you watching the same thing as me? He may've been sincere in everything he said during that, but there's no denying he was being humerous with it, also.

The comical pauses, the eye movements, the wording of some things. He was expressing himself in a funny way, and i think it was a good way to do it.

When he thanked the people responsible for helping him, that was pure sincerity, and the audience remained silent for that.

  • what DUMB ...DUMB.... american audience....

  • After 7 minutes, he got pretty frustrated cause he was talking about his feelings for his family and himself through this ordeal and all these people are doing is laughing and cutting him off with clapping

  • Jesus christ, the audience should've kept their dumb mouths shut. Laughing and clapping at every line he says, yet he's being dead serious.

  • Fucking stupid ass people laughing at it like he is joking. Yes he is a comedian too, but you should know when he is kidding and when he isnt. And most of the stuff they were clappibg and laughing about, wasnt even funny. Fucking ignorant and stupid audience.

  • he's very funny. . . .

  • He's just jealous that Letterman is a player.

  • The man was completley honest about what he did, he knew something like this would ruin his career, but with some courage, he sat in front of a camera and told the world. So good on him in that factor. What he did though was wrong, he knows that, and accepts that. But i do admire that he has taken the blame and has kept the media focusing on him, not his wife, kids or the woman he slept with!

  • it serves the scumbag right, i feel sorry for his wife and kids

  • You dont feel sorry for his wife and kid. Dont act like you do

  • Why applause and cheer to that? Americans always has this need to applause anything you say without connecting the brain to the ears.

Maybe that is why people like Bush and Arnold gets chosen.

    Yiiiihaaa!

  • Well, he told it well, he made it funny, and he was forthright and honest. Considering the circumstances, he did well.

  • Why would he even gain popularity if he's not funny?

  • such finesse. i love letterman

  • Totally agree with nzellen, the audience didnt actually realise he was serious til the end when they stopped clapping and laughing and actually listened to what he was saying..... and I agree with Growthecaine, he personally admitted what happened and not through a publicist. Yea he f****d up but he didnt run off and hide on a boat

  • at least he had the balls to admit he was wrong

  • @GrowTheCaine

Yup and that's the most elegent damage control I've seen.

  • How thick are his audience, clapping when he says "I have had sex with women who work on this show"!? Yeah he's trying to make light of it at some points but there are times when they should have just shut up.

  • @nzellen i think its maybe because of the tone of his voice its kinda sarcastic. to me, when kanye is talking it sounds like he's rapping.

and yea when audience is talking they should shut up

  • @nzellen First of all, "audience" is a singular word. An audience is made up of a lot of individual people, but it's a singular noun. You say "The brick wall are...", even though it's made up of a lot of individual bricks, would you?

Second, they're not "thick." They're in an atmosphere of comedy, and he's discussing serious things in an air of comedy. It's difficult for them to deal with those mixed emotions, and probably embarrassed for him. Give them a break.

  • @Sheldonwh well its Daves fault. Dave doesnt know how to explain anything properly. If you wanna speak seriously on a comedy show you gotta set it up right. You gotta make clear that youre being serious, that this isnt a bit. Dave just went right into it, didn't explain anything and the audience is just a little confused. Its just like when Michael Richards came to apologise on Dave, they laughed for the same reason, they think its a bit.

  • @nzellen His audience (or any TV audience for that matter) are clapping monkeys without much brains.

  • @nzellen you have to admit he is setting it up the way he usually tells a joke

  • He looks like he's ready to facepalm everytime they applaude. I read recently his ratings went up, so congrats to him.

  • This was genius! How to save face, gain sympathy and stay popular lesson 1, watch this! Can't fault this at all...

  • What a pro. Good guess to go public. Saved him a lot of face.

  • tclokes

    racism much?

  • how graceful and hilarious!

  • funny how people are laghing thinking he's having a laugh.

  • "yes i have, i have had sex with women who work on the show." (applause)

    only in 'merica.......

  • letterman never cheated this happened before he was married

  • Who knows for sure God David and the women in question.. I think you are right though. Or at least would like to thing thats the truth!

  • whyyyyyy are people in the audience laughing???????????????

  • because i dont think they understood he was being serious and not telling a joke

  • Letterman is the only man who would have the guts to do this in public,I applaud this.

  • at least hes being a man and coming out and apologizing. give him credit, at least hes not trying cover it up or pay someone off. he has the decency to be honest and apologize. so fuck off jerk

  • what the fuck? he fuckin tells you paid off a guy to keep quiet. if he was a man, he wouldnt have been such a piece of shit to begin with. cheating is unforgivable. maybey you'll learn that when you grow up n get some hair on yer nuts.

  • @sunnoisamazing its nobody's business...I think in his own unique way this is what he was trying to say....just in case something did leak out...he didnt say he cheate btw he said he had sex with women on the show....there is a difference....

  • Yeah, because him cheating on his wife is equivalent to killing more than 6 million people =_=

  • Yeah.... you're an idiot.

  • your a kid. you think you can insult me? LOL seriously, go talk to your parents and ask them why they feed you. ask them why the buy you shit. try to understand a little about love and peace, not internet bullshit.

  • I'm not a kid so stop making ignorant assumptions about my life I don't care if I'm insulting you. Now, what you said wasn't internet bullshit, it's you comparing Letterman to fucking Hitler... which in most people's opinions is bullshit. Therefore, you are an idiot. You can't preach love and peace while clumping affairs with genocide.

  • if you remember correctly, that was you who did that. LOL your a CUTE KID, as your mane says. take your rasicm elswhere, fool.

  • How stupid are you really? I'm 17 year old, I was born in the 90s I didn't do shit to anyone. What kinda of ignorant fuck would try to pull the " your ancestors did this" bullshit... you... that's who.

  • wise words spoken by a fool are foolish words. but foolish words spoken by a wise man are still foolish.

  • Well the only fool I see here is you. So try a diffrent proverb.

  • fools do not understand the words of the wise

  • lol now you're just messing with me.... have a nice life sir..

And the wise man sees more at the bottom of the well than the fool does at the top of the mountain.... remember that.

  • only a fool would mistake advice for foolishness.

  • @sunnoisamazing

A fool who fools the wise is a wise fool, but a fool who fools fools is a foolish fool. Who is more foolish, the fool, or the foolish fool who fools the fool? Foolish fools fool foolish fools foolishly, for foolish fools fool fools only when fooled fools are foolish.

  • go to the woods and learn, until then, dont talk to me.

  • LMAO!!!

  • speak but little, trust but few. how does that fly? LOL

  • Then you're about to go straight to hell then, dude.

  • @sunnoisamazing please tell me you are joking, nearly killing an entire religious faith can be compared to committing adultery? one is much worse than the other and if you can not tell which one, then sir or madam you need serious help.

  • jesus probly never said that, you have a messed up head, as did jesus andgod, if they ever existeted, which they do not and have not.

  • you know what does exist? your virginity ;)
