  • @LynnMaruu i missed out on teh soup i didnt even know to sip it!

  • Nevermind about order. You at a really young one. You should check out my video about eating balut. It was actually filmed in the Philippines. It was about 23 days old, almost ready to hatch. Most people eat with either (banana) ketchup, vinegar and/or salt. I prefer plain. That's just 'cause... idk. XDD

  • @MarineEverGreen loL! wow!~ you are right that one was like ready to come out!!!

  • It's nice isn't it... it's just like eating egg and chicken meat without bones cos the chicken hasn't developed yet

  • @edward101277 o yes! its like dont worry about biting down on anything tough every thing is good!

  • Do you eat around the bones, beak, wings, etc. or are they still edible at that point? O.o

  • @margarbeast they are so small or soft i realy coudnt tell they were there!

  • I must confess the first time I saw balut was on 'Fear Factor'. Yes, sometimes, very rarely, I watch so-called reality tv.

  • @bashyness you mean like 1 day after it is hatched?how is it cooked usualy?

  • @FoodOddities yes, the first day it hatched, then soak it in vinegar (lil amount) soy sause (lil amount) pepper and garlic for 5 to 10mins, then deep fry it. it taste great esp. when dipped in vinegar+garlic minced+chili. :)

  • @bashyness i can do that! do you know is there a name for that dish?

  • @FoodOddities its simply called as is, one day old dish.

  • wow you have guts and an iron gut

  • @jorgerene09 thank you!

  • I'm so proud you like it! I was born in the philippines. As a baby, my mom'd buy me those(all yellow, no chick or duckling) durring el shadai. I'm now a teen and I still eat them in America. It's surprising people find it gross.

BTW, not to be rude, but I got a but upset how you ate it. Lol, sorry, it just bugs me, on a lot of videos where people find it disgusting, they eat it the wrong way, so it doesn't taste as good. It somehow offends me. XP

  • @MarineEverGreen i understand ! i try to read as much as i can about these things before i eat them but i never get the trraditions quite right

  • @FoodOddities Well, I'm atleast glad you liked it. When you started to take the first bite I was like- "NUUUU!!!" Then when you said you liked it I was like- "YAAAAAAAAAAY!"

  • ew why is it bloody...it shouldnt be...

  • @mrkarlramirez i didnt cook it long enough:(

  • BTW, when you eat balut, you also ingest the poop and pee of the duckling.

  • @pinoyvegan hmmm that makes sense ug!

  • You should try penoy. It's the unfertilized version. Tastes the same but minus the gore.

  • wow kid you're more pinoy than I am. I give you props.

  • @iwatcher69 wow thank you!!

  • Your balut isn't cooked yet !.

I'm filipino but i live in Canada and , whenever i go to the Philippines , i eat balut .

I don't think the balut us supposed to have blood . And try cracking it at the bottom of the egg , not the side . If you crack it at the bottom , you'll be able to drink the soup of the balut !. The soup of it is one of the best parts if you ask me :)

  • @heartxoxoheartxoxo i will try it again and do it right. it needed maybe 10 more minues of boiling.

  • There's SHOULDN'T be any blood in there! It's still undercooked! I'm from the Philippines and I eat balut myself, but I'd never eat an undercooked balut.

  • @romainechester i defintely messed it up!

  • @aprild99 lol!!

  • @jeffbalbon lol ooopS!!

  • Wait, your balut isn't cooked thoroughly lol

  • @kkjgg112391 i guess i stopped the boiling about 10 minutes early:( lol!

  • I'm filipino and grew up in Philippines pretty much my whole life. When I was a kid I used to like the yolk.

Now I totally hate the smell of it--don't even get me started with how it looks inside once you crack the balut open!!

  • @kkjgg112391 whoa that is crazy i know as people grow up they can learn to like some thing but i never though about them learning to hate something! i guess you can eat so much you get tired of it? you are right about the smell!:)

  • your front teeth look so cute!

  • @weiyi1123 o thank yoU! i dont think anyone has said that to me before!

  • That looks cooked right to me, sometimes it does get bloody but honestly most of the time it isn't :D you should try it with a bit of salt and pepper and Vietnamese coriander leaves~~ it's great!

  • @HRentai hey thank you! the first person in 42 thousand views who thought i might not be wrong:)

  • I'd have it go with some soy sauce ^^

  • @redrubberyboots i love soy sauce so much i eat it by spoonfuls sometimes!

  • thats raw. im eating one right now

  • @ChenezAketch but yours isn't raw right? lol! i did screw mine up:)

  • I am American, But lived in the Philipines for a year....I have to say it was the hardest thing for me to eat. But once I tried it I was in heaven. Now I travel there once every 6 months and I always stop to get Balut before I leave

  • @SkateTheArmy that is awesome! that was what i felt like trying it the first time i was so worried but i guess it does turn out to be better than we all think:)

  • have you ever gotten sick from any of the foods you have eaten?

  • @Jezzy2578 never sick from the food. not yet! but some times from the taste i have thrown up!
