  • man, I want to watch it now!!

  • Needs some Blastar!

  • Captain Planet was a precursor to "Power Rangers" - and much, much better. The toys were better, too.

  • @Xan81 wrong have you never heard of voltron???

  • Thank You Allah.... I was Born on 1984.... this is it...

  • @ALL: Hello, 'troops' of the Future! :-D Does any of you here have *any* DVD-rips of this TV show?!... :-(

  • So, capt power ripped out Terminator. Well clearly the Borg were ripped of from this show. I mean look at that guy.

  • OH MAN. I used to watch this show all the time. I'd record them and just watch them over and over again. And dude, the toys!

  • KzipKing, you are crazy, I never held my Power Jet XJ-7 in my hands and shot the TV during the episodes, it's all in your head :)

  • All I really remember is the part where the girl gets digitized and pretty much nothing else. Maybe I was digitized when i was younger and that is all i remember.

  • Пизда рулю, но я в своё время из супа пирог получилсо =) Засмотрелся 8)

  • Before Power Rangers and V.R. Troopers, there was CAPTAIN POWER!

  • I had the toy ship that you shot at the screen. I still have the VHS tape that came with it. A captain Power movie.

  • @pulp06 I had both the white and the black ship, which if you weren't playing the video, you could play a sort of laser tag with the ships. so. much. awesome.

  • Damn, being digitized hurts like a bitch :-(

  • Why is it that the fucking machines always win. Why can't the battle between man and machine be won by mankind, which forces the machines to rise up and take back what was never rightfully theirs in the first place?

  • I used to watch this as a kid. I will now slit my wrists in shame.

  • @mikephenix dont man, we all watched it and loved it. it was an awsome show

  • america!

  • lol good old days

  • un clasico no me lo perdía nunca hahaha que ñoño xD

  • i used to watch this all the time!!!!!

  • Now let's press the button to total up our power points. Doot doot doot doot doot. Doot doot. Doot doot.

  • @KaneRobot HAHA! MEMORIES!

  • I absolutely loved Captain Power and was so upset that I waited and waited for the next season and it was never released!

  • Campy

  • hm.............somehow I always thought Lord Dread was Locutus from Star Trek........

  • I use to jack off over the chick

  • does anybody have the dvd and the toys? if so do the toys still work on the dvd?

  • haha. digitize them! holy crap that used to scare me so much! thanks for uploading this! i remember these graphics looked SO awesome when we were young!

  • I JUST BOUGHT THIS AT WAL MART!

  • @SuperLuigiSixty4 Wow so did I yesterday...

  • Why the HELL I CAN'T REMEMBER THIS SHOW?? I know VR Troopers but not this joint. what year this came out and channel please

  • @genestarwindjf80 Can't help you with what network, but it ran for one season from '

    87-88.

  • @dansquatch No wonder why

  • This should be remade, the episodes are already written, all that is needed is the budget for the effects.

  • @dukemorran1

Let's be honest, any one of us could fund these cheesy special effects single-handedly.

I had the same name as Hawk, so naturally he was my favorite. 8P

  • Reminds me of the Metal Heroes adaptation VR Troopers for some reason.

  • YESSSS!!! Wow I remember vividly watching this show as a kid in the 90's. lassuc awesomeness

  • It was funny, i was getting all giddy and laughing out loud when I saw this, brings back memories hehe. I was also getting the shakes for some reason, oh well.

  • i just saw the dvd at wal-mart for this and i was thinking ive seen this b4 now i remember it i used to watch it all the time fucking awsome show!

  • mierrrrda capitan power jejejejejeje ese de todas era mi favorita, se me avia hasta olvidado toy viejoooo

  • The most powerful fighting force in human history would be the Power Rangers.

  • War eine grossartige Serie!!

  • Ive looked for this for years, people said I was crazy... but I knew I wasn't... I knew.

  • @KZipKing I think we all just collectively halucinated the late 80's

  • @KZipKing You could be crazy. This might all be part of some delusional episode.

  • saw the dvd at wal mart 2 days ago and it reminded me of it

  • It's finally out on dvd !! :)

    See amazon.com !

  • Ask for NES, receive Captain Power.

  • I Tried to remember the name of this show I loved the show when I was little and had the Lord Dread toy

  • Comment removed

  • Terminator meets Power Rangers?!

  • well at least the effects held up lol

  • Guess what's out on DVD today?

  • @SailorCallie on my christmas list! great show ;)

  • @SailorCallie you gotta be S'in me. Are you serious?

  • Lord Dread. he was always one of my favorites.

  • Although the show was created solely as a promotion & tie-in for the interactive toys, its scripts were MUCH better than they should have been because of script editor J. Michael Straczynski... who would go on to create the syndicated series "Babylon 5"!

  • @aardvark280 really? wow.. I dont feel so bad now for liking this as a kid. hahahhaha

  • The grampa of powerrangers! Miss this show!

  • nevermind i just found it. its called tattood teenage fighters from beverly hills. and it looks like trash.

  • does anybody remember that tv show on usa that was similar to the power ranger ?the teenagers turn into giants in spandex and they all form together to make a knight.

  • @amberbamber44 Voltron or VR troopers?

  • Every time I see Sven Thorsen in a movie, like The Running Man or Red Heat, I'm always like, "OH hey, it's Tank!" My wife has no idea what I'm talking about.

  • Man this show is fucking sweet I wish it was still on

  • Sorry, but I just lol'd hard ^^

  • this show blew my mind as a kid. The bio-dreads made me "wooooaaahhh"

  • OH SHIT I havn't seen this in so long. SO AWESOME

  • DAMN IT THEY NEED TO BRING THIS SHYT BACK

I STILL HAVE THE TOY PLAINS

  • I remeber having the figures and ships that went with this show, but it was hard to find on TV where I lived. You pointed the ship at the screen and light pulses from the screen (think: video game light gun tech) were picked up by the toy and registered hits and eventually your ship would fly apart in your hand!

  • Yesterday I found an old tape with a bunch of stuff and I saw an episode of Captain Power! Was this show made in Canada? Because lots of these actors are Canadian. The special effects were actually very good for that time. The episode that I have is when that evil cyborg ( Vader ripoff ) pollutes water and "Tank" drinks it and goes berserk. Also the pteranodon robot is called Sauron like in LOTR, lol I'm a comic book fan and there's also a Sauron pteranodon villain in the Marvel universe!

  • I remember watching this when I was five or something.

Seemed a lot less cheesy back the lol.

  • Isn't this the series where you could use the toys to go along with the show? Like you could buy ships that could some how interact with the episode when they were flying around???

  • Captian Power, he's a hero,... blah blah, bad guys who like to digitize you...

  • I got a vision that this was the future and these are our grandkids. Train them well!

  • I had the capt power ship

  • Thank god for hoarders, that we can see this

  • what age do I watch this? it was awesome back then

  • Wow, memory-lane ahoy!

  • 32 people were digitized!

  • I dont belive i saw this shit when i was a kid ... and what's worst: I loved it!

  • CPTAIN POWER!

  • GOSH!!! Thanks for uploading this! I have the entire series on VHS...priceless treasures...and the animation in the series was way ahead of its time...I even have the toys which are awesome and kept in glass shelves in my home...I just simply love my childhood!

  • i remember when the chicks diesT_T

  • Judge dred?

  • waaaahhh!!! i miss this show!

  • Have very fond memories of watching this show as a kid. Can't wait for the December 2011 DVD release!

  • stare jak diabli oglądało się za młodu

  • this shit was good material back then and it had a revolutionary storyline.... in other words, Chuck Norris approves.

  • Cutting edge for it's time. Ridiculous now

  • Ashens sent me here :D

  • I'm guessing they never concluded this series.

  • This show was interactive with the merchandise. The glowing parts on their suits were targets that your toys could shoot and score points. Such a cool idea that no one has done since.

  • @Gle3nn

Interactive TV shows... Seriously, it's amazing they haven't done it again. I mean- my god- I wanted that PowerJet fighter BADLY because it could do just that!

  • Jessica Steen is the only actor from this show that become successful.

  • It looks like a rip-off of "Terminator", crossed with a rip-off of "Battlestar Galactica", crossed with a pinch of a rip-off from "Star Wars".

And maybe a bit of Star Trek:TNG as well (Lord Dredd looks like a Borg).

  • wow, i forgot all about this show! i had that stupid spaceship/gun thing.

  • Captain Power > Power Rangers.

  • @KyodaiKen1979: In fact, there was a brief surge of popularity in Japan for this show because it looked like 'Super Sentai' shows.

  • My God......I AM OLD NOW!

  • where can i watch this

  • This was a great show!

  • Didn't they sell a toy gun that interacted with the show? Or am I getting it mixed up with a different show?

  • @ranwolf76 - you are correct. But the toy was pretty pointless since it acted as a spaceship that acted as a gun during the action sequences with specially colored light patterns on the show - there was a glitch where you could aim it at any lamp, or light fixture, and rack up points.

  • @Diskoboy1974 I wasn't aware of that glitch. Then again, I didn't buy the "interactive" toys because I realized the show wouldn't last long and then the toys would be useless.

  • this show was so awesome, it came on skychanel way back when,

i have the series on dvd, it still holds up if your a child of the 80's and nostalgia kicks in :P, to bad they don't have stuff like this any more for today's youth, one of the reasons that kids now are of there rockers, if you ask me

  • its so fun

  • I love this tv series..

I used to watch it when I am still a kid.. Wow!!!

  • Two things come to mind: Terminator II and Daft Punk.

  • Thumbs up if you are old enough to remember the animated "Laser Tag" show. With that red, heart target, and green aliens and an actual story line.

  • given the shows budget this wasnt bad

  • i wonder what happened to these actors ? :p :p

  • I remeber watching this show, and trying to affect it with my different remote controls I had picked up a garage sales.

  • Esa sí era una serie excelente y no la idiotez de los power rangers XDDD Donde se conseguirá esta serie :S

  • OMFG HELL YEAH! !!! =D

  • If I remember right about this there was a tie in toy you could use t play with the show on tv or something like that..I remember it cause it's one of the few toys that was expensive my dad bought me when I was a kid.

  • Like an IDIOT with a tin armor.......

  • I really liked the look of this show but I didn't have the laser toys which a lot of it revolved around so I guess it just got drowned out by the slew of awesome 80's toys that were around back then. Probably kept it from catching on with a lot of kids who didn't wanna make the big allowance investment on an untested technology haha.

  • So much cheese. So much win for my inner child.

  • "when man fucked machines"??!?!

  • @skezness 'When man FOUGHT machines.'

  • I lived the show. hated that they cancelled it.

  • DVD set to be released on December 13th!!!

  • The most powerful force in earths history this is.....

  • So Terminator and Power Rangers got drunk and had a baby, I see.

  • @devospud amusingly Power Rangers RPM was a lot like this show

  • I did the sound design for this show and we had a blast doing it...

  • I can't front, I totally drank the Kool-Aid for this show. I had the XT-7 AND the Interceptor toys AND was aiming them both at the screen every single shiow as well as with the 3 VHS-exclusive videos. If 3D made such a huge comeback, interactive-combat shows can't be that far behind. Nostalgia's a hell of a drug.

  • This show actually disappeared after parents were in an uproar over the fact that in order to fully interact with the shows, you had to by toys you could shoot at the screen with. THink is was Mattel that made the toys. They took a lot of flak and the show, although they supposedly had scripts for three seasons, only made it into its second...

  • The CGI may have been garbage back then but the concepts are far better than the garbage being made today. Imagine this concept with today's CGI and some decent writing, acting, and directing. I would watch it.

  • @AnOldBlackMarble me too!

  • @AnOldBlackMarble Boy, you'd need a really, really talented team of writers and FX artists to really pull this show out of the scrap heep of yesterday's consumerism and do it justice. Would there be an action figure line as well?

  • @AnOldBlackMarble I have a feeling this will be re-booted and given an awesome new feel to the awesome series...i still have the entire Captain Power toy sets..and it sure ain't for sale even if some hard core fan offers a million bucks for it...they are priceless and this series exceeds the story shit of today's brainless cartoon series...even then they managed to create some CGI though with bulky computers of IBM then...nevertheless, it's timeless classics!

  • Hmmm??? Awesome??? Snarf snarf...

  • now if this done as an anime series this might probably......kick some ass!

  • Omg I just remembered this show and of course thought of youtube. It's like Terminator mixed with Judge Dredd.

  • watch the Facebook page for this page

offical DVD set is on its way

  • Sven Thorsen, he did a bunch of movies whit Arnold Schwarzenegger if you were wondering where you had seen him before/since. :)

  • @Bearram1 Was he in The Running Man ("Steroids make ya deaf!!?!?")

  • Never heard of captain power

  • @anima469968 anima, it was only on the air for a year and was moved around to many different time slots all the time. the show was very solid in my opinion and had some of the eaarliest CGI ever, but as it went on it brought you more and more into that world. When the show ended it went into reruns and disappeared. I was lucky to have taped the show on video I have allt he episodes. Parents groups also panned the show for its violence and they eventually foreced it off the air.

  • The only truely interactive show ever! Your toy fighter jet could be shot down!

  • I SEE 1ST TIME SINCE MY 5 YEARS OLD...!! HELLYEAH, FOR ME WAS THE BEST...!!

  • WOW this takes me back, used to watch this as a kid right when i got home from school lol.

  • I was devastated when Pilot died, she was pretty. And I was only 12 years old back then.

  • 00:14 "when man fuck machine" wew

  • LMAO Duke Referenced this in Duke Nukem Forever. POWER ON! XD

  • A injection of pure diesel grade awesome to your veins.

  • I had the training video, my brother had that XT-7 Jet thingy and I had the Black Phantom Striker. I had Lord Dread and he had Capt Power figure...best thing of all was when you werent playing with them, they worked well as flashlights during blackouts...

  • this is so bad i had to give it a thumbs up lol

  • got to love 80 movie they can make the worse title every lol

  • omg i remember this.... this was so fuckin awesome.....

  • смотрел с остервенением !

  • super channel in the uk used to have this on a sunday afternoon - family viewing!

  • If they think to remake it again, I'll watch it.

With now technology, we can make a master piece of this show.

Look at Star Trick, now and before.

If we cannot make even one good show for our kids, at least we remake the old good ones.

  • what happened to my captain powers action figures? son of a ......

  • Lord Dredd may be evil, but he's got a bitching' 3-monitor gaming rig in his chair!

  • O_O Lucutus of Borg was Lord Dread?

  • Comment removed

  • BOO-FRIGAN-YEAH! please excuse me a moment wail i freak out with nastolgic joy. (83 X) >XD X) >XD X) >XD =)

  • captain power looks like alpha 5 from mmpr if you squint your eyes

  • I was so young when I watched this and I liked this xD

  • Didn't they kill off the chick? Dang, anyway, talk about low budget.

  • early 80s kids must know this epic

  • It's sad I still have the ships that go with this ;_;

  • lord dread? lord zed? 5 power suits? this is alot like power rangers wtf? i sorta remember this show.. not sure

  • @Abercrombemonkey Power Rangers ripped off elements of Captain Power. It was influenced by earlier Japanese shows and then Captain Power itself influenced Later Japanese shows like Power Ranger. Kinda a feedback loop. One of the things that makes it cool is that it can be decidedly deadly for the characters.

  • These are the original noble 5 :p I remember when my parents gave me the VHS to episode one and the train video:) happy times!

  • OH HELL YEAH!!!! as soon as he says POWER ON!!!

  • great series... 80s rule...
