  • i dont why but my class was watching this video

  • those guys in Palo Alto Calif have such beautiful land & sea to look at, it would inspire anybody to come up with innovative thinking.

  • Since 2009 a cart for hand baskets was introduced at my local store, though it's got none of the other features, and it's for just one basket.

  • Bon exemple de la metodologia a seguir per fomentar la creativitat i la innovació.

  • Meh

  • Good design.

  • I just invented a shopping cart that can actually fit into your trunk. It can be a car, suv. or truck it doesnt matter! check it out. Google , Shopping cart that goes into your trunk. Or click on my name! Its amazing!

  • Iwanna wor there too its totally inspired

  • Lol, the company is great but the design sucks like hell... Let that part to Europeans, especially Italians... they can do it better!

  • @SchwarzAdler52 defer judgment

  • I have a DVD recording of this that I've had since I was about 10. I still never get bored of it!

  • I thought it was a comedy sketch, I'm still not sure it wasn't. The boss looks like Mr Cotter and they designed a piece of crap, could you imagine pushing a shopping cart with loose bags swinging around, and how many times have the handles broken on you? I did like the baskets though, they'd be great to store stuff under my house (that'll fix the theft problem, tools). Goes to show, you can have all the highly paid mega brains in the world and still end up with stupid ideas.

  • @SpotzB4URii That has got to be one of the most ignorant statements I have ever read. If you even have half a brain you can realize how much more effective that design is than a standard cart

  • @bmwseth ... You see - SpotzB4URii needs to buy 25 lb. cases of mayonnaise and fried chicken from the local Sam's Club - and 5 gallons of hand sanitizer to clean up afterwards ...these nerdy ( and arugula eating) designers were clearly ignoring the needs of people like him - so obviously this cart's design is deeply flawed - don't you get it???

  • You know I read up more of IDEO but it's not cheap to for them to design. To sent in your request, you need pay i think 20 000 or 25 000 and once they approved it, you need pay another 200 000 just to get you design ready ASAP.

  • This company could give a rip about the product they are producing...don't you get that? Their methodology is what is being highlighted here. I would love to work for this company!

  • YEAH...Lets make shopping carts....USA needs some!!!!!!!

  • Guess what, shopping carts still suck, they are still unsafe for kids and their wheels are so bad that when you try to turn right, you find yourself going backwards. I really hope these guys don't design our space shuttles...

what a waste of my time

  • @ErTrIoMoNnEzZa

    YEAH

  • And today all carts now look like Ideo's design! Oh wait...

  • It's seems the old google strategy in the work

  • Constructive chaos, very interesting.

  • @Opinionated73

    U re interesting!!!!!!

  • One conversation at a time

    Stay focused on topic

    Encourage wild ideas

    ...

Build on the ideas of others

  • @liquidkp this was filmed in the 90's, sustainability was not such a buzz word as it is now. if they even did think to consider it, I'm sure Nightline cut that part out because it's boring. as for not scanning something, they have technology to determine if someone tries to walk out of the store without buying things, after all in this age they do actually have personal checkout scanners now, I've used one.

plus, they had only 1 WEEK to design this. the result is absolutely amazing.

  • pure innovation. unbelievable

  • Two people shop online

  • Innovate by keeping an open mind, fail often to succeed earlier, talk to the experts and work as a team - fab

  • I agree with liquidkp. The issue of sustainability was completely left out.

  • IDEO is my dream company. I am a designer and this is the greatest company for me.

  • I often teach a college course in business and professional communication and this video encompasses a multitude of concepts we discuss in class. I love it!

    LSampson

  • @1:32 Epic stash

  • Incredible!! Interesting!! Thank you for sharing this clip.

  • looks like bill gates and steve jobs working together.

  • so..from a sustainability point of view..does it not mean we waste more plastic bags and more plastic moldings to make these baskets so that we can put them onto the car?

    what about the scanner?

someone decided they are going to buy something but they dont scan it in...

lost sales? erm...this idea is not innovative to the actual needs of solving issues of the shopping car

  • nice

  • It is interesting to look at their innovation process.

  • cool! I'd give it a spin. plus it appears that it would weigh less than the standard steel carts, that's nice on the knees and back.

  • Wow I wanna work at IDEO! That's incredible

  • @pmzpdrzbr

    Me toooooo!

  • @Willldragon

    YEAH...screw you

  • @pmzpdrzbr

I wanna work at ur house!!!!!!!LOL
