  • nas needs to give props to this whole album

  • If this is Nas then this guy sucks for that. But, if this is this kids words then WOW!

  • 100% greatness

  • I think this shit is tight..Even if Nas did it first.Pay tribute duke, Thats the way it should be and Nas deserves a tribute. keep doing your thing Elzhi

  • Is this a joke or a real deal? Elzhi, is he a studio created rapper or does he have some of his own shit?

  • @1corgan you're kidding right? this is all his written shit just remixed VERY well over Nas's beat. Even ask Nas, he loves Elzhi

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, nothing but insights and imagery in my processors when I hear his words breach my conscience lane, it's almost so subliminal but more real like hip-hop should be!

  • @2AstroMagicSpace2 these are not his words, they are from Illmatic album from Nas

  • @1corgan Lol, you need to go back and study harder. This is not Nas's lyrics.

  • If you love real hip hop like this then you will love this artist from queens ny..on the come up..needs heavy support from you guys..please give this artist a chance like you gave Elzhi a chance for his music to be heard..just search lou i made a choice Lou i made a choice Lou i made a choice Lou i made a choice Lou i made a choice Lou i made a choice Lou i made a choice Lou i made a choice Lou i made a choice Lou i made a choice Lou i made a choice

  • @WarrenTheApeFTW Eminem never fell off. You gotta remember he is a storyteller. He raps about his life right now. It's not always going to be slim shady

  • @LT2AD haha songs wit rihanna and all these bitches about his life? that times over hes sellout now

  • @LT2AD FFS Eminem... These guys are on a totally different level. Fuck hip pop.

  • Where they rob memory banks and end up in the brain cell, where all the misery and the pain dwell! Elzhi killed it :]

  • @WarrenTheApeFTW Eminem is one of the best, suck on it

  • @mostiguess10 lol fanboy

  • I like this song better than the original. I'm not putting down Nas or anything, I think Illmatic is the greatest hip hop album ever to be released but what Elzhi does with this song is amazing. As he's going through his memories on the "mental train" I feel like I'm there with him. Especially the last part of the song where he sees his old friends and his mom still alive in his memory and leaves.

  • @guy9787 Word..

  • @technique2010 I wouldn't say em is the best, but, his rhymes are so intense. Go listen to his music and Listen, follow every verse every line and you'll see he's not like all the other mainstream rappers.

With that said, there's hundreds are better lyricists that are unheard of than hell ever be lol.

  • @TheTechnique2010 Whatever, i dont have time to argue with your sorry ass.. Em is the BEST EVER, period.

  • @FailToFail45 Eminem blows, he's sucked dick since he went mainstream. be butthurt bro.

  • @WarrenTheApeFTW Stop talking shit, bro.

  • @FailToFail45 .orb, tihs gniklat potS. Nigger.

  • "So they handed me the mic to spit a rhyme and a verse/

I was shocked to see the clock show the time in reverse"

    Beautiful.

  • @asianmancgman haha.. u suck and thats sad ! Eminem is The Greatest Rapper Of All Times ! SO FUCK OFF FAGGOT !! :)

  • Keep it on and on and on!

  • I THOUGHT THIS WAS NAS IN THE PIC? Lol . Yeah El's one of my biggest influences. You can see it in my music.

  • is that Nas pic, HOLY, that is too much of a resemblance

  • Not with shitty albums and songs he's been putting out lately...

  • This'll be the twelfth time i lose my virginity HA

  • @asianmancgman Eminem is still very important to the city of Detroit and the hip-hop scene... With Eminem still being one of the top mainstream artists of Detroit... that still gives the city more oppritunity... he still got skill.... his ability to write good songs isnt there tho....

  • @MUZIKis4lyfe He still has it, but Elzhi is the next big thing, to me.

  • @Eziokilla9595 Elzhi's been around for quite some time. '97 or something. Good to see he's being recognized.

  • @jnguyen0749 In case you haven't gotten it yet, pick up the, "Witness My Growth," complication. It's amazing. For me, it goes...

    1. Elmatic

    2. The Preface

    3. Witness My Growth

    4. The Leftovers

    5. Out of Focus

  • He even look a bit like Nas with that pic, crazy respect to Elzhi holding it up for hip hop.

  • ELZHI IS GONNA DROP A MEMORY LANE VIDEO VERY SOON.. ITS GONNA SHOW CLIPS FROM DETROIT'S HIP-HOP SHOP...CLIPS OF EMINEM, ROYCE DA 59, J DILLA, OBIE TRICE, GUILTY SIMPSON, PROOF, D12, GUILTY SIMPSON, & ELZHI FROM BACK IN THE DAY WILL BE FEATURED IN THEVIDEO

  • YO check out My NAS VS ELZHI Video

  • 'i threw the deuces up to Dilla, dapped up 'Tin and then I hug my mama slow, yo.'

I'm speechless, so.. ah man. Beautiful.

  • he actually looks like nas in this picture lol.

  • @LikeIsNas as I Nas fan I love this. Not the original, of course, but I really like this kid. He talks about real things in a smart way.

  • @MrGOOZ3 All I'm saying is it ain't as good as the original, yeah the song is nice but I can't listen to it again and again and again like I can with Nas's Memory Lane. I'm not dissin' him...

  • WOW! He brought justice to this beat and Hip Hop,, brought me back through Memory Lane

  • Sorry to say but this is nowhere near Nas's original... It's good song, that's for sure, but Nas is one of the greatest hip hop song of all time...

  • @spaceboy2095 Nas my fav rapper but give this dude respect. He making a tribute to the greatest, he represtenting REAL hip hop, we aint seeing him remake LOLLIPOP are we? give him respect

  • miss class smellin like twist grass

  • Nas probably has the best resume for inspirations

  • I really had to stop and listen really closely for a second to notice it wasn't Nas on the mic.

  • Nobody is touching Nas... but this guy is fucking dope!

  • Just shhh no words for this respect..

  • i respect this a lot! great tribute.

  • Elzhi is gonna drop the Memory Lane Video this week... Thumbs up if you pumped to see it!!!!!

  • why is this guy not as big as that hack eminem

  • @dabeast5816 its all cause of society today man.. its all fucked up

  • @MUZIKis4lyfe i recon the only reason emenime was even brought up to the a-game was because he still wares dr dres pearls

  • @dabeast5816 he deserved it tho.. he was nice at the time... and he def needs some Dr. Dre in his life right now due to that he be puttin out some soft ass shit

  • This is my new anthem. Love this jawn. Real Hip Hop!

  • Premo beat <3

  • SMH@re doing a classic album....i would never try to recreate my own version of a legends album...Do your own shit

  • Ordering the album NOW! Dope music

  • whats up with elzhi and the illmatic thing he's doing?!

    dont know about that

  • @janowitsch He made a whole Elmatic album tributing Nas' Illmatic

  • great cover man

  • There are a lot of artists that changed Hip Hop, but unfortunately, are past their primes: Rakim, Nas, Eminem, Royce, Big Daddy Kanye, KRS-One, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, ect. Elzhi is one of the last ones left. Many rappers have given their all for Hip Hop, and Elzhi is picking up where our other soldiers have left off. Give this guy two years, and we might be witnessing the best rapper alive...Thumbs up if you agree.

  • He looks a little bit like Nas in this picture.

  • @JScrillah1 i thought that was nas.... hahaha

  • The world needs to wake up and put ELZHI on,

    sick song btw

  • he just shouted out detroit cats and at the same time paid tribute to nas and premier

    so underrated

  • Some Real Shit right here... Thank you Detroit!

  • second nas ? it will be awesome , keep it up ! :)

  • what can i say......Respect

    ben fame

  • People, he isn't copying NaS..

infact, 'Elmatic' and 'illmatic' are two different things, hes not copying the beat, its not the exact same as what NaS used, you can hear different instruments, might sound similar like all music will in the next generation but its a reference to NaS, a tribute to Nasir's legacy, wake the fuck up!

  • "name a rapper i haven't influenced"

    either - nas

  • @KevinvanDijck ether***

  • @KevinvanDijck Ether*

  • @KevinvanDijck *ether dumbass

  • @TheReyes5000 lmfao 24 dumbass's

  • @KevinvanDijck hell yeah.. great quote.

  • @KevinvanDijck ether dumbass

  • @KevinvanDijck ether lol yeah..

  • @KevinvanDijck ether**

  • Damn Elzhi dope as shit.......

  • haha, he kinda looks like nas in the picture

    ELMATIC!

  • El's been doin' his thing for so long. He's on the same level as Nas minus the recognition.

  • This dude been in the game for a minute, not dick riding just rehashing the best era of rap

  • amazing

  • LOL what a shitty guy, do you really think he would have done this album if Nas wasn't borned ? ahah this guy is a dickrider

  • if more people knew who this cat was, there would be more dislikes.

  • @allready1984 whys that?

  • @illmaticstatic93 Im sorry but i am a die hard nas fan... and this just seems like solicited swag jacking with out the blessing of the GOD... This is the same shit The Game tried to do to Get on the "MC LEgend's" status but it doesnt work. Nas Had the full blessing of rakim before he made a tribute to him, Nas solidified his own career before he Dropped his influences ^^^^ Who the fuck is this guy name dropping to get heard?

  • @allready1984 i feel you dude. im a huge nas fan and its mad weird that this dude made a full tribute album but his rhymes arent bad

  • @allready1984 He does have Nas' blessing... Nas himself said I loved it

  • @allready1984 yo, actually Rakim did not approve the tribute song there is a youtube video where the GOD Rakim Allah says that Nas should have called him or something. Check it out. As far as swagger jacking I don't know this dude has skills and he uses all his own rhymes he's paying tribute to nas a lot of rappers do it, maybe not a whole cd, but he's on point tho.

  • nas probably herd this n felt like a proud father, respect the real.

  • @Villis411 now thats a comment i thumbs up!

  • so dope

  • i had this idea 2 years ago....and that is why im still typin...ABUSE YOUR MOVES PEOPLE

  • Gotta love that controlled rapid-fire style rhyming. Check out Fashawn too, he's on the same shit.

  • Comment removed

  • the bass doesn't fit the freakin song. baad

  • i would love to spit a rhyme with this guy

  • what are they sayin in that scratch part?

somethin like i luv to take ya to down memory lane???

  • thanks for bringing back a classic . Its acceptable when the mc is legit! I was 15 when Illmatic dropped ,and bumped it thru my high school dayz and still to this day more than ever. damn its almost been 20 years wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • key sign of a great song look for it on youtube and read the coments if people are arguing about biggie and tupac and nas its the shit if wayne is involved haha your fuckin 10 years old or sumthing

  • Comment removed

  • there is someone who can touch nas..... biggie smalls even if hes dead and the person who can touch nas alive is mos def and immortal technique

  • @CjDaLyrical Biggie Can't touch Nas anytime he gets close his fat ass has to stop and catch his breath lol Don't get me wrong I own Ready to Die and Life After Death. One of the illest of all time but whats ill to illmatic?

  • @KevinTheVillian

    DICKRIDER

  • @ChuckyTigue Kay

  • @CjDaLyrical Biggie is overrated. Mos Def could arguably touch Nas but not Immortal Technique. He's absolute crap.

  • @aBDKstan immortal tech is crap? lool thats more outrageous then calling big overrated

  • @Sp33dyMik3 No it isn't. Immortal Technique has no flow and all he does is bitch about fake illuminati and conspiracies. And Biggie only had 2 albums. And only one was really a classic so how is he not overrated?

  • @aBDKstan so let me guess, youve heard cause of death and freedom of speech.. thats pretty much the only songs he talks about illuminati and conspiracy theories, look up industrial revolution, harlem streets, peruvian cocaine, dance with the devil and more and tell me if tech is crap. then calling big overated is ludacris because if you go around to the teen age population now i bet loads more will know about lil wayne before they know of biggie, thats not overated, thats a forgotten legend

  • @Sp33dyMik3 Biggie is not a forgotten legend. Even people who listen to gucci mane and oj da juiceman know biggie. Nas is a forgotten legend. I'm not saying Biggie sucks, ready to die is a classic but he's just overrated. and i've heard all 3 of IT's albums and they all suck. Yes, some of his songs have interesting views but that doesn't make him a good rapper.

  • @aBDKstan biggie isnt overrated at all. best flow of all time. and nas isnt really a forgotten legend, anyone who knows anything about hip hop knows that he's one of the best rappers to have ever lived.

  • @MrACIF Yes, I know Nas isn't really forgotten. But everybody (I literally mean everybody) knows who Biggie is. And I'm not saying Biggie sucks, both his albums are classics. I'm just saying he's overrated by a lot of people. Maybe not necessarily you, or anybody on this video, but by a lot of people

  • @aBDKstan true shit

  • @aBDKstan i agree biggie is incredibly overrated

  • @CjDaLyrical

True. Nas is a Goat but if you compare bodies of work he can certainly be touched.

  • ita alright...its not illmatic

  • nas the god, el the messiah..it's evident..but jay electronica and k.dot are con tending

  • dopest track on the mixtape

  • Go watch (Dz mac hustlers way) video shot in detroit michigan... peace one love to Elzhi....

  • @filipinobboy510 plus, the beats were entirely recreated by Will Sessions. it's not biting, it's called a tribute.

  • 50K Hits

  • primo beatz are better ... for real

  • If nas liked it, all you other fools respect and bump this real shit

  • @Khwaja2010SR i don't even know if NaS listened to it but premo said it was bananas.

  • @rmsg120nsb Nas met him, and said he loved the album :) and I think its a brilliant tribute, like that other guy said, nobody alive can touch Nas, but this is prettty damn dope.

  • @Khwaja2010SR eLZhi always was on NaS level, ppl just heard about him now though, i've been a fan since his slum village days so i know what i'm sayin' but at the end of the day it's just opinions.

  • @rmsg120nsb Yeah he's damn dope, and I understand what you mean, Elzhi's been around Detroit being one of the best for a while, but I guess, Nas was just the one who made it big you know?

  • @rmsg120nsb

Naa man, I've bumped Elzhi since 2001 when he got signed, heard his first album, his 3 mixtapes, I love his stuff, No disrespect to Primo, I think he is the best DJ alive, but I'd have to disagree with my man there :)

  • he's basically putting a tribute out to nas, its not him dissing him....since everyone knows illmatic.....he doesnt have to say anything about using the beats because its all respect to nas

  • @bbbbertha On top of that he took the beats and had will sessions redo them LIVE. He totally took the album and made it his own. Thats mad respect for the album. If you like rap/hip-hop what the hell are you doing not liking this..

  • Elzhi went in, anybody denying is a hater

on the same level as original imo tho

  • damn got me all emotional and shit

  • the sadest part of Elzhi of song is Elzhi leaving memory lane... "So now it's time to go I threw the deuces up to Dilla, dapped up 'Tin and then I hug my mama slow".... damn that hit me...

  • This the whole concept is way different than NAs's... ur choice on which one is better... both great in their own way..

  • they say u shud neva touch a classic.BUT my nigga ELZHI went in on this.......

  • ELZHI. I bet NAZ bumps this album!

  • @Oakles22 nas* fuckin' idiot.

  • arguably elzhi is better than nas in terms of flow and delivery, Nas prob has a better style and lyrical content

  • Stop trying to be NAS!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ddot1979 He's not trying to be like Nas, it's a tribute album dedicated to his workings on Illmatic. What a way to dedicate!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @ddot1979 are you the HATER who go's on each Elzhi video saying "stop trying to be Nas"... ive heard about you many times... whats goodie!!! keep racking up them comments for my boy Elzhi bro you doing good...

  • @ddot1979 ever heard of tributes?

  • @ddot1979 its a tribute wtf..?

  • nice

  • This is dude is ill. I would put him in the same category as Nas, but Nas is on his own level. Elzhi is up there tho. This cat is nice wit it. Real Hip Hop.

  • He should do a song with will I am and thugnificient dick riding obama and nas

  • Hip hop fans are some of the worst haters in the world, will hate on anything for the sake of attention. On that note this album is dope and is a great tribute to iLLmatic.

  • I like the idea to show respect for illmatic, but not really into the same titels, beats that kinda sound the same and stuff like that..

  • straight up Shmokashmole

  • Dopeee!!

  • well, what can i say other then he does have skill, but i woud like to see him go down his own path rather then ride nas's back.

  • this joint is so fuckin amazing. I feel like he is actually up there with the original track. Elzhi is the most slept on and underrated emcee in the game, period.

  • ha i knew him from Slum Village....the best out the group in my opinion.......But im glad to know he has more music and doin his own thing......1.....

  • the whole track is quotable.. love this a little more than nas's just cause i can relate more..
