  • boring interpretation.

  • ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • you're great guys.......and to those people who always criticize..........i pity you......you're so negative.........you're missing a lot!!

  • @MrWinky213 No you guys are the one missing a lot, not us ;)

I bet you don't even know the other dances, their much more entertaining and complex than these weak hip hop fusions... Realize your own culture, or like I said, you'll be the one missing a lot.

  • soRy buT iTs kiNda boriiNG! :(

  • i don't like the song they did. i think it would've been better if they used a song with a better beat. this song was too slow and i think it hindered them a lot.

  • Tradition has its place definitely but its nice to see another generation attempt at making it creatively relevant to them. They looked like they were having fun at it too.

  • @jayvgutierrez too bad it was a failed attempt...

  • a little bit boring ... no doubt unique, but everything's too repetitive, same movements over n over again, no change of pace...

  • Interesting but I'm sorry, doesn't cut it at all for me! Still prefer the original routine and especially, the traditional music! Nice try though.

  • The traditional tinikling dance had more variations to their steps than this hip-hop version.

  • it's not as exciting to watch, but i'm just happy seeing the younger generation keeping the culture. i'm 38, grew up in the states and did a few dances when i was young. but i sure missed out on this. good for all of you!

  • i know its the new generation. but you cant mix tinikling with hip hop. thats just absurd. the performance's a bust. oh and to the one who thinks "it seems to flow", NO IT DOES NOT!

  • ang pangit! maawa naman kayo sa kultura natin

  • ang pangit, nagkalat kayo..mukhang katawa-tawa ang tinikling dito..pwede namang haluan ng hip-hop kaso walang art itong sa inyo..

  • man why did they put hip hop like im a filipino but like its messing up tinikling :(

  • totally agree with JaneyB7

if anything. putting tinikling to a style like hip hop jus reaches out to the hip hop generation. which of right now...Is one of the TOP largest.

  • hip hop influenced filipinos. that is rare. /sarcasm.

  • Whats the hip-hop song that was playing?

I really liked the incorporation of both filipino and hip-hop culture.

    It seems to flow.

  • @kirsteenNico LOL hardly, you have no taste, seriously this obviously blows... Even I could pick better music from hip hop to go with Tinikling, and I would never dare mix the two...

See, when you're modernizing something, it's supposed to actually be good too, not just modern, if it's modern and crap, then it'll make whatever it touches crap.

  • What hip hop song is that, that's playing?

  • ang panget! nagkalat lang kayo

  • stop hating on each other stupid motherfuckers this is not the right place to make a fight stupid piece of shit, damuho kayong lahat,

  • wow galing nyo

  • Beats going to the gym!

  • im so laughing still..that's my pleasure.

  • if i'm really dumb, then stop answering back, its making you dumb, don't you think, you wouldn't want to beneath yourself to my level, right..

  • Now you're just copying me, "Then why do you? Don't give me the satisfaction." Remember that? At least I have reasons for my criticisms; I'm not just coming up with arbitrary philosophies like it's dumb to answer a dumb person just because they sound philosphical. Go ahead keep answering me I'll just keep answering back because it gives me pleasure. . .that might make a snob but not dumb.

  • "just because they sound philosphical". . .sorry let me clarify that: when I said 'they' I was refering to the philosophies.

  • first off, i thought you were being too opinionated, but now i believe you like this stuff more than i do..you rock...rock on..you're my hero

  • You're basing this on what? Oh wait! Until now you haven't produced a single trace of logical reasoning. So how could I have expected you to have now? Whoops. My bad for being so dippy. (That is how you write an ironic statement.)

  • taking if personal are we..hum thats interesting..maybe we are alot of people..who knows theses things

  • I'm sorry. What language are were we conversing in again? Because as far as I can tell, your statement above is the dialect: Simpleton, of the language: Nonsense, from the country: Babbling Fool, on the planet: Tired and Last Week.

  • hey toilethead, its just a dance with sticks...

tinikling and uprockin...sport of the future...

youtube for watchin and learnin...not for writing

biographies...please keep your small minded ideals to

    4 or 5 sentences...ohhhh...kayyyy....

  • No. This video is small minded. As are you. What about what I said was small minded or biographical? As far as I can tell you're just another R&B monger who say tired basketball things like, "Live your dreams" and so forth. It's NOT just a dance with sticks. I mean if you want to break it down that far you could just call it "people moving around". That the problem with Filipinos is that they never go into depth and want eveything to be 4 or 5 sentences.

  • You only look at the surface of things. The fact that my posts were long doesn't negate that they are well supported. You're just resorting to romantic idealism and sassy name-calling; the kind that gets a Jerry Springer audience to applaud. You complain that a few paragraphs is too much but what's wrong with Filipino culture actually warrants volumes.

  • AND WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!, "ohhhh...kayyyy.... " Speaking of winded. Wouldn't it have been more succinct to just have said OK? What was that? You wanted to emphasize you're 'OK'? Well I wanted to emphasize my points in three paragraphs. So deal with it. I mean if we're going to play the game of sass I might as well indulge.

  • more books, you must be a fuckin bookworm or something, you should be published, truth is, i might not even be filipino, ever considered that.

  • No I looked at you favourites there are alot of Filipino songs in them so I think it's a safe assumption.

  • What does you being or not being Filipino have to do with your or my arguments?

  • 3 paragraphs doesn't equal books. Bookworm? I've hardly read a book in my life. I have ADD. Bookworm=someone who read alot of books not someone who writes alot. Jerk.

  • besides, i have a life aside from answering your stupid ass...(inserting laugh at your direction, just clap to the beat of the sticks...again it is still just a dance w/ sticks... (.l. you)

  • "besides, i have a life aside from answering your stupid ass..."

-Then why do you? Don't give me the satisfaction.

  • i might as well say one last thing cuz i'm tired, tinikling is beautiful...i love it. clink, clink.bye now.

  • Wow you're really dumb.

  • I mean being culture-aware,witty, eggheaded, retro and bohemian is kind of zombiesque still but you guys really need to branch out of that oversized sports jersey culture. It's old and tired. Nobody is scandalized, impressed, scared of or has a feeling that he is rebelled against because oversized sports jerseys, boisterous swearing, blasting your music in your cars and hanging real at the mall.

  • Whenever I look for really old Visayan songs on youtube I always find low-quality karaoke recordings or "Cebuano Gangstaz" (yeah, spelled with a 'z' believe it or not) or something akin to that. Look you guys don't make me feel proud to be Cebuano let alone Filipino. truly 'hip' and 'badass' people make fun of you guys. You profess to just being yourself and being real et al. but you don't see how zombified acting like that really is! There are so many of you and you all act the same!!!

  • Just because the filipino generation now has become extremely Americanized does not mean that you should feel embarrassed by your people, that's a lame excuse. You don't have a clue as to why some of the kids behave that way, it could be the area that they grew up in or other influences. And what makes you so much holier than thou? You shouldn't judge people based on their style of dress or way of talk. Sweety, your ignorance really shows through so go and reevaluate the novel you wrote PLEASE!!

  • What is it with Filipinos thinking that rap=modern? Not that I think there is anything wrong with modernizing tinikling it's just that Filipinos are so completely enamoured with rap and r&b (which has very little r or b). I understand that almost all cultures are in love with popular american music but Filipinos have it BAD! They make the largest group of non-Africans to act thug and real@ the mall (look, you're hanging out at the mall. Exactly how thug and real are you?).

  • Filipinos ARE popular American culture. It's not biting anymore, it's trendsetting. Whether it's by pure sexual appeal like that Pussycat doll Pinay, by pure power and speed like the Pac Man, Brandon Vera (UFC), Dan Inosanto (Bruce Lee's buddy), or just plain "stealing the hearts and minds of America" like the Jabbawockeez. 38 million votes cast and you can be sure that pop culture will not lump Filipinos in with the rest of the asian cultures and actually see Filipinos in a better light.

  • gotta luv the jabba most of all XD

  • props, tinikling is fun, but this version was too slow and repetitive.

  • bakit nila sinira ang tinkiling..i'm not hating in any way i dance hip hop..pero sana nag stick nalang sa trditional tinkiling dnace

  • This is the first time I see a tinikling hiphop, and I really can not admit that I like it. But it's nice seeing people doing their thing and being creative. Don't forget that creativity is one of the best qualities of the Phillipine people.

    Xxx a half-pinay

  • u gys suck

  • wow... no one should ever do modern tinik. do your research. keep cultural and modern on separate.

  • Personally, as a Pinoy-- it was cool but didn't make sense. this performance totally took away from what the Tinikling is about. They might as well have just Double Dutched the entire time, but I say good job keeping somewhat of a traditional pinoy pride to it.

  • ppl who think it's stupid or gay, your fricken morons! think again!!! my friends aren't filipino... i am so shut the hell up! T_T that was a waste

  • yeah!!!!

  • little too slow and laid back for my liking.

  • modern tinikling is stupid to me..n i`m not even filipino..lol..

  • then y r u here? u dont even know wut tinikling iz do u? just get lost.

  • u wuz talkin 2 shriekfriek in my 1st comment

  • yeah, good question:

    what the fuck??

  • hoy kayong mga haters!! tang ina niyo!! mga wala kayong kwentang wannabe konyo!!! gago!! let them people do their thing BECAUSE THEY CAN DO IT!! wala po silang sinisira sa kultura ng Pinoy, its the new millenium now you stupid fuck!! let those kapwa pinoys be CREATIVE! paano kasi, laki ka sa layaw siguro!! I hate fukking konyos!! biaaattch!!

  • lol kinda gay.. doesn't go with the tinikling thingy

  • ?!?

  • *usually i'm all cultural with this dance, but they did butcher it. theres another version hip-hop tinkling thas better though. this one is too OA on the "hip-hop" side -_-*

  • You guys are just not used to it. lol. stop hating.. :D

  • they should never mix hiphop with tinikling cuz people would not see the beauty of this dance..

  • you people destorying the culture, craziness, wala ba kayong ibang sisirain? Im not proud, nakakahiya,

  • what the fuck....

  • urgh???

  • "urgh" is right. I'm sorry, I hate it when they butcher the dance with hip-hop like this. -_-
