I got one. He is called Jeff. At the moment he is 22cm long. When he gets bigger he will go in to a 2m long and 1m high and wide that I got set up. It’s got a shoal of minnows in that he will probably eat. It’s got a very heavily planted section at the sides and back up to the middle with an open area at the front and it has a big log that he could hide under as well it’s got sand. Is this big enough and is the set up ok for when he/she is an adult?
I'm suprise that gar didn't eat those other fishes..quick true story, back when I had a gar(roughly 10-12 in.) with a 55 gallon tank and contained 6 full grown 12 inches red belly piranhas..one day after work I can come and found that one piranha was missing..so I checked and found out that my gar had a full belly and what was left was the skin and bones..o' yes, the gar was my favorite pet till it grew too big and I had to sell it off to the pet store..!!
Hi there, i'm from Malaysia too and i would like to ask you does your RTG eats live fish? because mine is only 3 - 4 inch + when i bought it and it actually eats anyting tat i gave him but now he only eats mealworms and doesnt eat other things than that. He is 6 inches now and doesnt eat live fishes or prawns and only worms...

Nope, i buy the frogs from local fish shop.
I am not dare to feed my fish with wild cuaght frogs and etc, because they might carry some parasites.

My gars is spotted/florida gar, the max size of them are around 24".
My tank is 6ft x 2ft 2ft.
