@iEatYourToast I take huge pride when I say, I've beaten the game 14 times and my fastest speedrun is 1 hour and 32 minutes. The first 6 times I've played through the game, it was scary as hell. Now most of the scary is gone, but the suspense is still there no matter what. Custom stories keep the fright going, trust me, this guy is right. It is SCARY!!!

@blainecol It's scary beyond measure. I have only played FEAR out of what you said and I personally found Amnesia much better. But it's a different experience from most other horror games. This is pure psychological horror. It messes around with your mind. Builds up an uncomfortable atmosphere and such. And the fact that you can't fight back doesn't help much to free yourself from this. It's more compareable to games like Silent Hill and such.

There should be a WW1 horror game with gameplay similar to this. I'm sorry, but am I the only one who thinks that trenches, mustard gas and decayed soldiers' corpses would go well with a horror setting like in this awesome game?

@Druzhina89 But then that takes away one of the key elements that makes this game TERRIFYING... The lack of ability to fight back. Knowing that you can't harm the monster makes this game more terrifying than the rest. I would rank this game as second scariest game, the first being Silent Hill 2.

@worpend It would still be quite hard to fight back because 1) WW1 rifles/pistols were generally quite slow to reload and 2) Sanity will drop in no-time because you have to point at the monster (thus looking at him) and fire, then reload (because it probably takes more then one shot). This way, it would be hard to beat just one monster, and nigh impossible to face 2 or more.

Or they could make it without any weapons. Either way, the WW1 atmosphere is perfect for a horror game.
