This fight isn't as one sided as most of you guys are letting on. Fotiu won but Wilson landed a lot of good shots during the middle to later part of the fight. The last punch broke their grip and the refs jumped in before they could hook up again.

I can see why non-Rangers fans think Fotiu is overrated. Here, he beat Wilson but didn't destroy him like some think. I watched this game as a kid. I was scared Wilson would hurt Fotiu. Wilson was a prototypical Flyer: big, strong, and with a mean streak. Fotiu boxed and "grabbed and punched" and edged Wilson each time. For Rangers fans, it was a long time coming. Remember, before Fotiu arrived the Rangers would leave the Spectrum looking like crime victims. Fotiu, & later Beck, changed that.

Beck had amazing potential in his Rookie year with garbage Colorado he had 22 goals 38 assists in 75 games

He was a big farm boy that could hit and fight. Had he been a Flyer or Bruin i think he would have been legendary in the hockey world.

The problem with Beck wasn't his raw talent or his size but his attitude which was on par with Keith Tkachuck. (Coach killer who never felt like getting out of bed to earn his oversized paychecks.) Even if the guy has skill and the other doesn't, if they only bitch and moan, they become a MASSIVE liability and frankly Beck was more trouble than he was worth.

The Jets made the same mistakes letting guys like Ruskowski who cared go in favor or the Christians, Tkachucks and Domis of the world.

Fotiu boxed in the Police Athletic League in NYC. As a player, he trained in a gym in Yonkers. After losing to Larry Holmes, Rinaldo Snipes was at the Garden to see Fotiu play. Fotiu skated to where we sat and removed his glove. Snipes told me Fotiu would not be fighting that night because his injured hand was taped. He didn't fight but scored on a rush past Glenn Cochrane in the Rangers 7-3 win over the Flyers.
