Doubt it would do anything for your q but its solves every problem on my phone.

take the battery out and then hold the power button for 10 seconds (i do 15 sometimes) then put your battery back in and turn it on.

its a trick i learned from a girl at the verizon store its called a "hard reset"

I have W490 and it pressed 7 and a random 9 and also the ok key I'm guessing cuz I went into my recent calls and it called my number 7! I flipped it closed and it still beeped at me! I turned it on and off and at one point it wouldn't let me push ANY keys until it started being possesed again! then I had to remove the battery to turn it off! NOw it's fine after the 4/5th removal of battery! I noticed that even tho I bought it in Jan 08 its an August 02 model!

Typically this set of anomolies or random spasms of controls are all caused by a corruption in the C-line wire that runs past the scroll wheel, QWERTY keyboard, and navigation toggles. It was a common issue with the Q's on the first few production runs. They had bad keypads which would send the "signal" to the main board, Making it look like you were dialing. The most common sign is like seen in your video, Usually only a few key's being pressed (Like 8 and the left softkey) I have a Q now (Months after release) and its much better than the first Q i had. Which. Fried after 3 week's. I still like Motorola's products though.

This video reminds me a hell of a lot like my Razr V3. I would turn it on and it would dial 4s,3s, and the occasional *. I don't have a Q but if it was working properly, would repeatedly hitting the 8 button send the menu moving like that? I never found a solution for mine, I still think it was my router that was interfering with the phone.

I've had a Moto Q for the past month now, it wasn't my choice;company's standard issue. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it's a pile of cr*p. The hardware&software are ropey and out-of-the-box features are terribly basic;e.g. Why is there no notepad(to simply jot down notes)? The "calculator";Do they really expect us to use the pull-down menu to add a decimal point when there is one staring us in the face on the keyboard that doesn't work?!! The list is endless...
