Assyrians have been driven out of their homeland for the past century. Saying someone was better off during Saddam's era doesn't say much. Things were bad for Assyrians during Saddam and now they are just worse. People focus on these minorities because they have suffered the most. Assyrians make up less than 5% of the population in Iraq yet have always made up the majority of refugees forced to flee the country. The numbers don't lie.

It is nothing short of propoganda to say that the Assyrians are being killed & persecuted because of their faith. Virtually all of the attacks have been carried out by Kurds. Most Arabs in Northern Iraq are fighting with the Assyrians/ While it may be true that Kurds are Muslim while Assyrians are Christian, the 2 groups have hated each other long before the birth of Christ.

While the Kurds are persecuting Assyrians in northern Iraq, the attacks in Baghdad and Basra were carried out by Arab Muslim extremists. Also, Kurds did not exist before the birth of Christ and have only recently moved into the region of Iraq.
