Hey tclemm, as far as I'm concerned, you did an excellent job. A Ferrari with toyota reliability, and fuel economy! You can't beat that with three sticks. Don't listen to the u-tube critics with big egos and nothing else to match. Good job man, and its sound great! Salaam (peace to everyone).
No, I was there when we did the exhaust. It is a replica skin attached ot an old MR2 body with a Camry 3.0L engine. Tim (Owner of Longlife Exhausts - now in Thornbury)
i would love to own a replica of any super car but without the logo with the logo i would fell funny driving it because its not an actual but without the logo i would change a part or two then fell good driving it
We at Longlife Exhaust have been doing exhausts for 20 years and you can see us at either longlife.co.uk or bristolexhausts.co.uk and of course find us positively mentioned on many car club chatrooms. The Ferrari replica is done by mr2kits.co.uk - they are a real business you can visit near Dursley, GLOS if you are so inclined. Cheers!
I like how he's so descriptive of his car he needs to say it's a coupe to tell everyone he's a guy that lives on the wild side and have to say it's a v6 just to let people know it's a v6. U do know v6 v8 4cyl v12 all that doesn't tell u that ur car is fast? I think a Hyundai turbo is faster...an Infiniti g35 is a v6 but has like 50 more horse. A Audi r8 that has a v8 engine reaches 0-60 quicker then a Aston Martin v12 vantage...
I want this exhaust. I'm looking at buying an MR2 here in the US, & want to do the 3VZ-FE swap with Turbo. This exhaust would be perfect! How can I get one & how much?
Does the kit add or reduce any weight? That gen is already pretty light. For practicalities; I'd way rather have the mr2 than the real thing. guess how much it cost to get the oil changed lol I've been asked by ignorant people all the time if my stock, unmodified 1st gen mr2 is an old Ferrari...whatever xD
@tclemm I would have thought it reduced weight being fibreglass and stripping all the panels off. Im putting on a murcielago kit sometime next year and think the 3sgte has heaps of power. Ive only got a pod filter, aftermarket intercooler, 38mm wastegate and 3" downpipe and she just flies. I recommend carkitinc to all who are after lamborghini kits
@Rtech I looked online and found out that it costs about £3000 just for a new drive belt in a real Ferrari, which has to be replaced every 2 years!! The insurance on a real one would be staggering if you lived in a city, yet you can insure an MR2 for peanuts. I know which I'd rather have. ;)
This is an MR2 with a Ferrari body kit and a 3.0L Camry engine in place of the MR2 engine. Our exhausts on a normal car are built as standard replacements to OEM parts. This car with its larger engine would have an insurance increase due to the larger engine - not ther exhaust.
@angurisloud I've driven a real one at a track day, so actually I have been near one. But in all fairness my comment was 2 years ago, and back then I had not been near one.
it looks good only the rear rides a little to high and the exhaust needs to be a bit larger apart from that bloody good work mate

the 430 actually looks real....I think they just swapped out the exhaust to make it seem like its a replica with an exhaust...this must be a scam.

@PRINCEofPECICA
HA HA that MR2 sounds nothing like a F430!
Look it up! Also you can see how the exhaust tips are about an inch and a half.
Not standard size Ferrari 430's come with.

It adds weight but the Camry engine more than makes up for it. Check with Dave at MR2Kits.co.uk for further info.

@tclemm Oh nevermind, I see it is a 3.0L which I believe is probably a 1MZ, but a 2GR would be nice.
